A short YouTube video by John Jonas giving practical advice on which virtual assistant (VA) to hire first. He recommends hiring someone to do a task you can teach (so you can train and give useful feedback) and prioritizing strong English skills because they translate to many roles. The clip closes with a brief offer to show his hiring process and a URL (1vaoa.com).

So what kind of VA should I hire first is a super common question that I get asked. And I have a really good answer for it. So you should hire the kind of VA that will take a task off of your plate that you can teach them to do. So if you have something that you can teach someone to do, hire someone with that skill set and teach them to do that thing that you know how to do. Number one, it'll get something off of your plate. And then number two, it may makes it way easier to succeed because when you go to give them feedback, you know what you're talking about. And when you go to give them training, you know what you're talking about. It's so much easier to hire someone to do something you know how to do. That's the first person you should hire. After that, you already have an experience in working with someone and now it's way easier to hire someone to do something that you don't know how to do. That'll come so much easier. Like you want to hire someone to do to build your website for you. That's so much easier the second time around rather than the first time. The second thing to look at when you're hiring someone for the first time is hire for English, hire for the English skills. So if you're looking at like, what kind of VA should I hire? Well, hire for their English skills and then that person, you can teach them to do lead generation, you can teach them to do social media, you can teach them to do content writing, you can teach all kinds of things to someone whose English is really good. So my advice is hire someone to do something you know how to do because it's easy to recruit that person. And second, hire someone for their English skills because it translates, translates into so many different roles in your business. My name is John Jonas and if you're interested, I will walk you through the process of how I find people. It's a short, quick, easy process that I guarantee will find someone good for you the first time. 1vaoa.com.
