When hiring a virtual assistant, should you send a rejection email? So this is completely up to you on whether or not you want to let candidates know they didn't get the job. So what I have usually done is for candidates that I've interviewed, people that I've interviewed thoroughly and I didn't choose them, I usually let them know, hey, I went a different direction with this and you didn't get the job, I'm so sorry. But for people that I didn't interview or maybe I only had one communication with them and they dropped out of the recruiting process, then I'm not going to let them know. I'm not going to spend my time to email them and tell them, hey, sorry, like you didn't do enough to make this. So should you send a rejection letter? It depends on your personality. It depends on how far down the road people got with interviewing, how far into it you got with them. It's a nice thing to do, but it's not required.
