A short testimonial by John Jonas praising Basecamp’s “Hey” notifications: he explains that as a business owner he can see only what’s relevant to him, quickly review and respond to items (tasks, emails) without wading through others’ activity, which streamlines his workflow.

So as the owner of the business, I want to see everything that goes on, but not everybody wants to see that. So one of the things about Basecamp that I love is the hey notification where it shows you exactly what's relevant to you that went on. So it tells you where there's something that you need to respond to and I can click on it and look and see, hey, here's what you did. Awesome. I love it. And then I can respond and I don't have to go anywhere else. I just click to my next one and see, oh yeah, he completed this task. What was this task? Add plain text versus all HTML emails. Done. Great, great. I just move on. So this is something where every individual user gets to see exactly what's relevant to them and they don't have to deal with anybody else's crap and they can just get their workflow done.
