The number one reason I started using Basecamp was because of their notifications. And I absolutely love it. In Basecamp, you can interact with it any way that you want to. When I got started, I wanted to interact only via emails. And you can still do that today. Send me email notifications. And here's what I would do. I would only get notifications in email. I would never open up the website. And I would get an email notification from multiple people talking about project, and then I would reply via email to that project, and it just shows up in the project. And that's the only thing I did to interact with Basecamp. And I love that I didn't have to go into the project management system to use it. I could just use email. Today. I've since evolved. I started using the website, then I started using their desktop application, then I started using the mobile app. Today I only use the mobile app, the mobile app for my phone and their Mac desktop app. And I love it because all of my notifications, everything that goes on shows up. Always. It shows up in my app, either on my phone or on my computer. In the application, which I keep open, I don't have to go to another webpage. I don't have another tab open in Chrome. My business partner, Dan, still uses email to interact with it today. And it's completely seamless to me. It's completely seamless to him. And everybody who uses it gets to use it their own way. They don't have to open up the website, they don't have to ever see it in the email today. I don't ever get emails with it. It all happens inside of the application. So I love the way that everybody can use Basecamp with whatever they're comfortable using.
