Victor Justin Rhodes documents recovering from a glass cut and fighting infection without antibiotics, trying vitamin C drips, saunas, and fasting instead. Small wins: he can draw a bath and walk after dinner again.

Little update for Saturday. Just last Sunday, I cut my arm and, uh, with a glass. It came out of the trash bag. I was throwing it out. It went rogue Wednesday. It's all bad. I've been resting for an hour. Harmed. And we've been fighting infection since. Saturday, I woke up. Very little change, if any. We were quite discouraged. We hung through it. We realized, oh wait, we could go to town. We could get a vitamin C drip. Which is an immune boost. We did all the regular things, the sauna, the Epsom salt bath, we went, the herbs, went in, did the vitamin C boost, came home and saw some of the first progress of the day, meaning like I felt like doing laundry. I felt like going on a walk after dinner. We always walk after, I've been walking after dinner straight, rain, shine, heat, cold for over 6 months now. And I've skipped during this time, but I wanted to walk again last night. It's funny, I can see my progress as I draw our bath each night. I drew our bath strong and I wanted to go on a walk. The day before I drew our bath strong. The day before that I was able to draw our bath, but I was kind of like fumbling around. And the day before that I couldn't draw our bath. So that's a measure of success. Saturday was still discouraging because I had the redness in my arm was still increasing. Rebecca and I Finally decided, look, if we don't abate this, all symptoms of infection including the redness, by Monday we're going in. I'm recording this on Sunday. We don't normally film on Saturdays. I meant to do it on Saturday, but you know, it's our day of rest. I just didn't get around to it. So we went to bed with— normally I like to upload specials. I wasn't gonna do a summer farm tour. So let's claim it. We'll do that next week. Let's just claim it. It won't say, oh, if I get better. So Saturday we're going to bed with a resolve and a hope that, oh my God, when I wake up, uh, I hope this redness has gone away, because tomorrow then we're just sucking it up. And we didn't want to do antibiotics because I've done so many antibiotics with my tooth work and all kinds of things, and I feel like I had a wrecked gut and we just spent 6 months cleaning that up with fasting and twice a day broth and supplements, just clean that up. We didn't want to go down that road again, so we went to bed hoping. Okay, today's actually Sunday. I'm gonna film a vlog for Sunday, so stay tuned for that. Happy day, and thank you for staying with us through this— the good, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
