My family and I decided to drive 1 hour to get strawberries. 10 gallons of strawberries. Now, they were going to be about the same price as if we bought organic strawberries at Whole Foods. I beg the question, is it worth it? Well, one, when the views when we got there were absolutely spectacular. Two, the farmer was really glad we were there and it was really nice to meet them. Three, the strawberries were sweeter than anything we'd ever experienced in a store. Four, we were doing something together as a family. You don't really go to the grocery store as a family enjoy it. And fifth, it was nostalgic. We could remember times past of picking strawberries together. Monetarily the same, or, or worse actually, counting the travel, but in our hearts, in our soul, in our taste buds, so much better.

If I had to start my Homestead all over again, it could only pick one animal…
