Victor Justin Rhodes and his helpers Jonah, Josiah, and Rebecca build nest boxes for chickens in the greenhouse. They assemble a Chickshaw 2.0 coop, troubleshoot an electric fence, and work through various farm chores with kids on the property.

Uh-oh, the sheep are out. They're supposed to be over there. It looks like there's one buddies left, maybe the little calves. Let's go check it out. 3 calves, all but one sheep. I don't really see any problems. Ah, there it is, down. Oh yeah, that'll do it. It helps if you connect the clamps, guys. You got to connect the clamps. Clamp runs from the fence, but it's got to connect to our power source right there that goes under the ground basically every 100 feet out to a pole and then to our house. All right, Jonah, get the drone going. And, and Jonah's got the GoPro. We're gonna make a nice little sequence for you guys, top of the vlog here. He's got a bucket. Sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep. They must have nudged it over. Wasn't on. And then everybody got out. Now they're confused because they fed there, but they don't know to go right here. Crisis averted. Let's get your hood on. The problem we're solving with today's project: one, this Chickshaw 2.0 has to have that, or the chickens get in there and pop a willy rather easily. It's just tacky. And I want to be able to pull this behind Willy if if I want to, like I can on my Chickshaw Mini-Me. Oh my, we need to turn the nest boxes around before they start to lay. We flip it around at night so they can't get in there and pile it up. Hey, it needs hay too. Josiah, can you go get hay? That's a job you can do with Henry on your back. And we want to get rid of our nest box platform because we basically don't use it and it just fills up with chicken Okay, okay, we'll feed you. I'm going to change the handles of the Chickshaw 2.0 too. They come straight out just like this one. Then that's your base for your coop, but it's also your handles. This is a little cut a little lower, so it actually sits not straight but a little bit like that, which keeps it from flipping. The weight of the handle is up here, and the hitch, that helps keep it from flipping. And the coolest thing is you can move it by hand, or you can hitch it up to the Kubota and go. But we can't just work on the Chickshaw because where are the chickens gonna lay? So we got them some nest boxes. We do have 2 Chickshaws, but 6— they're the 16 square foot each is only 32 if we have 2 of them. But one 6 foot by 6 foot is like 36. So yeah, 2 is not enough to replace one Chickshaw 2.0. So the Chickshaw 2.0 That's more room than two Chickshaw Mini Meats. Well, Beefcake's appetite's back. Before we finish our chores, today's episode of Burn It Up Cooking Show: pork belly. It's gonna be hard to fit in here. This thing's huge. Am I supposed to have dry skin? I forget. Yeah, dry the skin, oil and season both flesh and the skin. Okay, this was supposed to be dry. I wasn't supposed supposed to brine it, but maybe it'll turn out magically. We're supposed to leave it, the skin exposed, all night in the fridge. I'm gonna put aluminum foil around this so that it bakes in its own fat, but I don't want it to touch the tin foil. It's kind of a weird shape, so I'm having to finagle it. Now a little bit of oil oil on the skin. This is why we scrape the pig, go through all that trouble, as opposed to skinning it. This is one reason, because the skin is going to be delicious. 2.5 hours. I'm gonna do 300 instead of 275 because this is a bigger, bigger piece of pork. Hopefully we can move the cow sled right through here. That's going to be a bit of a divot. I'm afraid it's going to catch on our way up, but we won't know till we try. Well, we made it. A little bit of skid mark, but we did it. Did you get my tools? Yep, this looks like a lot. It is a lot. It's not as bad as it looks. We got about 45 minutes till we need to deal with that pork belly and lunch. You think we can get one of these assembled? Oops, I hope so. Oh golly, what is this? Let's get everything out. That's instruction number 1. Oh, these are all our parts. We should make sure we have all our parts and then we start to build. Oh, this is more instructions. I don't see any washers, and we're gonna need a lot of washers. Well, there's no washers, and that's super frustrating. I don't know what to say. Do we have any of these little kind of washers, Jonah, that are about the right size for those? I think we do. See if this other one has washers. Okay, a bag of nuts. I'm thinking this is not gonna have washers either. So do we just not use washers? Yeah, there's no washers in this. All right, first one in. I guess you can spin it because you'll be quicker because you have the socket. We're making headway. Beautiful one's helping. She's better at instructions anyway. I'm gonna go do the apples and and the onions. Sound good? Yeah. All right, cooked in the fat. Some of the fat got up, but look, no, they mostly cooked in the fat. See that? Now we want to crisp up the skin, and the only way we're going to do that is with a high heat. We're going to try to make it as even as possible. This thing's kind of lopsided. But so is my grates over here, so I'm going to put it on. I'm thoughtful of that. And now it sits pretty much flat. All right, let's put this in. Let's crank up the heat. 425. They said 30 minutes, but last time we went too far, it was too hard. Let's try 10 minutes. How is it? Would you order at a restaurant? Yeah. What about you? It's good. She's getting pretty close. Notice there's a rollaway, so they lay their eggs and they roll away into a contraption. Which will be handy if it actually works, because then they would, uh, not dirty them up. Or you saying hi? Or break them. Ta-da! One down, one to go. The second one will be much faster. We are done. That has taken our entire Sunday seed day, but we got 2 done. Tomorrow, hopefully we're gonna build stands for them. It's gonna be a total custom job, so hopefully that's something we can do tomorrow. Rebecca, bless her heart, has had to be inside with Henry. He's, he's napping and won't let her— won't let her set him down. Uh, but I'm gonna protest. I'm gonna say we've been having a hard time. I give up, man. What? I've done backtrack 3 or 4 times. Huh? I bet you finished it. You're gonna have to finish it. I'm done. I'm gonna put it in the scrap metal. You're hilarious. I know you finished it.
