The video is a day‑in‑the‑life vlog of a homestead family introducing a new bull (Nacho Nueve) and a new ram, handling their quarantine, and managing herd dynamics. The family debates where to place the new animals, tests and repairs an electric fence, and watches the bull establish a pecking order with existing steers, leading to brief fights that subside once the fence is functional. They perform hoof trimming and postpone castration until the calves are larger. Genetic testing reveals that a heifer calf, Harriet, is A2A2, so the family decides to keep her as a milk cow and plans an extended nursing period. Throughout, family members (Mom, Lily, Henry, Jonah, Josiah, Brady) participate in chores, jokes, and narration. The vlog also mentions the editor Austin, promotes the Abundance Plus service, and reflects on the emotional significance of the day’s events.

First light. Our new bull and our new ram. I'm sure they're ready to get out of here and get with some companions. Did you just finish milking? I meant to catch you. We're gonna do yogurt today. We should probably quarantine the ram since we can. We can put the bull in there. Where? The nacho pen with the ram. I'm afraid he might horn him. Do you have any ideas where we might quarantine this bull? We could put the ram with the, the wither. Where could we put the bull? I don't know, I'll put the cows. All right, yeah, it's bad best practice to quarantine these animals before they get reintroduced, but it can also be a management nightmare. Happy day and, and welcome to another day in the life of a homestead family eating what they grow and growing what they eat. Oh yeah, in between takes with ordinary obstacles. Today is an important part of our journey and quitting the grocery store to grow more of our own food. Because our ram is half our breeding stock for our lamb meat. The bull is half our breeding stock for our dairy and our beef operation. Lucky started. Lucky day. You drank all that? No, he spilled it all. What do you think should happen? We need to take him out first. He's way more stressed than him. Oh, you think he is? He's been laying down. He hasn't laid down. All right, well, let's get him out then. I had to go get his gloves. Your gloves? Yep, the cows started chewing on them. Oh, you left them out there? Yep. The cow chewed them? Yeah, I put them up like in the tree, like, and then the cow reached up and ate them. You know cows don't have internet, so they're bored. You know it's a great dad joke when the kids don't laugh. You gotta line it up good. We're up here, check out the boys' cleanup job. Wow, you can see where we're going with this. Still got some parting to do, but turn the fence off. No, take this off. Big steer feels threatened by the bull. I know, they just got figuring out who's the boss. There could be a pretty good fight if they're equally matched. I think our bull's bigger. Don't drive Selma on this if you don't have to, bro. We want the grass to grow up. Release the Kraken! Oh, they're not too aggressive. We need to get this fence back on. They're way up in the corner. If he gets out, he has no sense of home. This is bad. He's going around testing the fence. I'm not sure if this fence is even on. I don't know if he's ever been in an electric net. I didn't see any when I was over there. It was all hardware. Hey, hey, hey, we gotta test this fence! I should have tested the fence before we started. They're figuring out who's boss already. Oh, the other one's trying. The problem is they both go at him at the same time. He showed that one. They gotta figure out the pecking order. Let him get a drink. He's still checking out his surroundings. He's like, oh, some water. Oh, some minerals. A fence. You don't want to be in there with them. Like, give me a break, guys. I'm gonna drink some water. Poor guy. He was back in charge after stud enough and left. Now he has to submit again. Oh, he's not done yet, guy. He's gonna have to fight them all. Don't get downhill, bud. You'll lose for sure. I'm pulling for the bull. Hey, hey, hey, hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Josiah, is it working? No. Jonah, trace it, please, quick. Brady's gonna just push right through this fence. Goodness, I didn't expect this amount of walloping. They calmed down. Everybody's given up the fight but that one. Boy, the poor guy can't move without being followed. Hey, hey. Is it a broken tester? Josiah's gonna go to get another tester. It could be it. Jonah went along the whole line and didn't see anything. He's trying it. He's looking over it. This is not good. No bueno. I've had a cow not oriented get out. We didn't find it for a week. I don't like how he's looking over this fence. He is seriously making loops around this thing. Just looking for a way out. Testing the tester, it works. Nothing. Looks like they're— they take a break, then they go at it again. He's having to beat everybody down, even included that little tiny one. Listen, you got it! As soon as he got the fence going, they're all gone. That's a lot of meat right there, isn't it, guys? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 steers. I think we're through the danger zone. He's calmed down, they're calmed down. They are now a herd. If he were to get out, I think he would want to come back eventually to these guys because there's no other herds around. Our pathways came in handy to get up this crazy steep hill. Look how steep that is. Got this fence turned on just in time. I didn't get it caught on camera, but he came down, put his little nose on that fence, and it got him. He's trained a lot of electric fence now. It is, it's cut right there. Say hi, Mom. Hi! You ready to be home? I'm ready to get you home. His name is Nacho Nueve. You know what that means? Nacho 2? The new Nacho. I'm glad we decided not to put the Ram in with the steers after all that drama this morning. Okay, here. Come on. I've been calling him Nacho Nueve, but she pointed out that's Nacho Nine. Whoops. I'm trying to say new. What's new? Nuevo. Look, he's already eating. That's a good sign. They fear only one thing more than death, and that's being alone. I'm gonna fix the hooves. Yeah, I'm gonna put out on the concrete. Yes, they're all out on the concrete, and then I'm gonna put them all back. Well, they might not like that because it's raining. They'll be fine. They're always in the rain in the summer. Let's just take a cattle panel in there and get them all in a corner. You get the clippers, I'll get the nut job— the castrators. Getting the nut job ready. Got some sort of acid on it. I heard Annie asking one of the Mexican crew members, and it's nueve is 9, nuevo is new. So Nacho Nuevo. I know, but we need the little one. Yeah, and that's the only way to get the little one in. They're hoof trimming, which we should probably have more hoof trimmers. Hey, we're trying to find the wither, so we might as well hoof trim and band, which is essentially castrating. Lay them down on the side. You take their legs away, they— you've taken away their flight and they're calm. Yep, that's a female. So leave her out. Well, our day just got much more interesting. The steers are out. They've knocked through their fence. At least they're sticking together. Whip will get them up there, won't it? Hey, hey, hey! Don't let them go down the road. They go down the road, there's trees on either side, and it's like a chute. You can't get around them without herding them in the wrong direction. They'll go right under it. This is going crazy easy, easy, easy, easy. Hey, hey, here we go, Jonah! We got him! I'll be surprised if that happens again. Worst fear come true, and it wasn't that bad. And that's mainly because they've bonded even though they're rivals. It's like sibling siblings. Let's hold off on castrating. They're too small. So she says that's him right there, and that's the wither. Are we gonna carry it, or we're gonna go get a cage, or what? Well, he heard. No, gird up our loins and carry them, or we put them in the cage. Poor sheep. Congratulations everybody, we got hooves trimmed. We're gonna wait to castrate the boys, they're not big enough. Mom's watching the stud muffin harvest. On Abundance Plus. Austin, the editor, he did a really good job making that film. I hired him to come and film it. Just relived it. That's the thing about the vlog, we often relive our days. Probably a really good thing because we really feel the emotions. We can't show that stuff on YouTube, but I think it's very important, uh, and I'm so thankful for Abundance Plus for that reason. So I encourage you guys to get over there and check it out. It's free trial right now. Watch the stud muffin video. Well, you could peruse around and you don't want it, cancel within 7 days and you didn't pay a thing. It's on me. After lunch, walk. I wonder, you know, something's been going on. My feet are acute, they're in acute pain lately. And I wonder, should I even walk? Well, I got to take care of the rest of my body. That's overall a good thing. Is she— Keep walking after those. The bull just laid down. What you got, some binoculars? Oh, I like it. He likes his house, Jonah. The results are in for Harriet, our heifer cow. Do we have a milk cow or do we have beef? Is she A1, A2? Drum roll, please. She's A2A2! Dad's legacy lives on! Oh, Stud's calf is a heifer calf named Harriet. She is A2A2, which means we keep her. Yeah, as a family cow. Oh, I just want to cry of happiness for old Stud. He finally threw an A2A2. He lives on! Yep, she's y'all's family cow. We're gonna keep Harriet on milk nursing for 10 months. We normally draw them off or wean them off at 6 months, but because she's gonna be a milk cow, you want to get all the nourishment she can get. Thank you, Mom and Lily, for another wonderful meal. Somebody likes it. You like it? I'm going ahead and filming you so you don't have to ask. How old are you? How old? 3. Go like this. He goes, I did it! And he had— he was like this. We have no more milk, Henry. We've turned all the milk into yogurt. You'll have to be okay. You want me to get you some juice? Yeah. La la let, la la let me be free.
