Rebecca and Speaker A harvest a 50-foot bean row before it spoils, aiming for three packs per week for a year. They're also managing tomato sauce production, working in a high-tunnel to beat the heat, and coordinating electricians and plumbers mid-renovation while recruiting their kids to help with the garden.

Mama, there is a 50-foot row of beans. There are many beans that need to be harvested before they get too bad— big and go bad, and all our gardening gone to waste here. Beautiful One's got to leave for an appointment in 45 minutes. Can we harvest this entire row? And maybe even a better question, how much is here? Do we have What do we want, Rebecca? 3 packs a week for a year? So do we have 150? We might. Well, we might not.
Second succession of this.
Yeah. Oh wait, wait, wait, wait. Yeah, it's time.
Yeah, that is a big one. We have this. I think we'll at least get 2 pickings off of it, at least, if not more.
Some aren't ready yet. Some are little things.
And we've got flowers, we've got blooms.
Yeah, more.
So I'm doing a second succession.
Cool. Yeah, let's see it. They're getting got by something, but they're still putting out cucumbers. Sir, how long has it taken you to go that 7 feet?
I have no idea. Um, 15 minutes?
5?
So you can say what you want about the woo-woo sticks, but I do think they're helping.
That's the woo-woo stick. What kind of metal is that? Copper. Copper. I mean, she's not wrong. These tomatoes are— these are as tall as I am. Those green beans are untouched. By any pest. Look at this fruit, Rebecca! What are you gonna do with all these tomatoes?
I'm gonna make tomato sauce.
Probably—
I was probably make mainly tomato sauce just because that's so versatile, and then you can make whatever you want. Hey, can you—
can I get around you? Is he helping you?
Oh, it's a very strong word.
It's hard to maneuver the camera around in here, it's so abundant. Have you been pruning your tomatoes too? I see you have down there.
Have I been what?
Pruning your tomatoes. That keeps them free of blight. We're about halfway through. It's time to make sure breakfast is coming on. I don't think you're gonna do that. You're in your happy place, and it is nice and cool right now.
I need to be out here in this high tunnel every morning at this time because it is too hot in even the evenings to do this.
Hopefully Lily's available. To make this breakfast, and I can join Mama again in her happy place. Lily, can you make breakfast? Heck yeah, I love it! What a good girl. Garlic is due a harvest, potatoes do a harvest, onions is due a harvest, cabbages almost a harvest, carrots is due a harvest. Your lovely daughter was on her way to make it.
Oh, see, I knew she's so There's maybe not as much as we thought there was in these heads.
There's still a lot more coming on. Almost finished. I'll be honest, really? Well, then I'm gonna have to go get the Ergo. Oh wow, we may have enough to preserve. We're getting done faster than I thought. Of course, there's not as much as I thought in the first round. My question is, are we gonna get enough to preserve Are we gonna have just enough that we can eat them all fresh before they go bad? Well, Rebecca wraps up and we figure out what we're gonna do with this bonus time. Maybe more harvest. I'm gonna weed. Weeding can be addictive. Look, we are just ahead of the sun. That's where it's at, high tunnel work. Oh, it started to hit and we are out just in time. What is this you've built? Chain. We're gonna preserve those. I hate to preserve those now in the cool of the day, so let's do that later. Let's see if we can't convince the boys to harvest the produce. Boys! Hey, they're coming! Hey, let's harvest! Let's harvest! No, you can split wood later. What? All right, we're in a new stage, aren't we? They got lessons, they want to split wood. It's better to let them have autonomy and do a project they want to do. We need to harvest that stuff. I mean, it's harvest, it's food, it's there, but if we don't, the weeds are gonna take over. Come up, go to seed, and we're gonna have those weeds 7-fold for 7 years. At least that's what they say. Well, Mom had to take Lily to a dental appointment. We lost Lily. This is all I've got left. But then he's got his lesson. Henry, do you and I on the harvest? I like that attitude. That's a lot of green beans. That's more than we can eat fresh before they go bad, so there's going to be some professional preservation this afternoon with the beautiful one. It's just you and I now. You want to go save the garden from the weeds? No? I thought we were going to harvest in the cool of the day. Maybe we still can, but the electricians just called. They're on their way, but the electricians are coming and they need the fixtures out. That's where they're going to start. It just got crazy, and they want to start with the fixtures. We don't have the fixtures out. I thought they were coming tomorrow. There was a misunderstanding in the text. I thought I had later today to get those fixtures. I've been digging around in there. I brought forth all this.
Not this!
What do you want me to watch? All right, let's go! Come on, we do not want to delay the electrician. Getting in our house is priority numero uno. If you put these guys off, sometimes it can be off for days and in some cases weeks. Come on, let's go! Let's go unload these lights. I'm afraid nature might be calling. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Okay, and on top of the electrician, the plumber's here. He needs some sinks. Jonah, I gotta go change Henry. It's behind the cabin, that outdoor sink. Can you disconnect it and bring it over here? Yes. Okay, I'm gonna change Henry and maybe I'll meet you over there. We do have a pile of lights. All right, can we go change you? Come on, let's change it. All right, I'll come to you. Jonah got us the sink.
It needs a cleaning.
Beck, you got a pile of lights to go through. Yes.
Are these my recess lights? Are they—
did you— Lily, how did the green beans turn out? These green beans are a day old. Not even a day old. Just hours old. Bread muffin burgers. We thought we were gonna get a lot more beans, but we got the beans done. Thought we were gonna harvest produce. Got a side curveball for the remodel. We've got all the lights set up. We're not missing— are we missing any lights, Beck? Are you stressed out about it? Bless her. It's gonna be so beautiful though, Beck. It's gonna be so beautiful. Come enjoy lunch. All right, big day tomorrow. We're butchering our sea monsters. That's tomorrow. Happy day.
