The problem is every time I go to turn on this water, it sprays. I put Teflon on it and stuff and still not working. That's about as far as I can take it. Hopefully Randolph— we tried to bring our bells over, we've got some jars over, we've got our fridge over for our milk. Hopefully fixing that, must fix that. The range is coming today, the oven, and we should be able to put in our washer and dryer for cleaning the cow cloths and other various farm whatnots. Seems like maybe we should have a switch right here. That's very important because milk is the centerpiece of our farm, the dairy cows, and we are wasting— every day that goes by is more and more time Wasted tracking all over the farm. I might as well, as I talk, tell you something. No, we're tracking the milkpells all over the farm. It's a big waste of time, and time is precious. Before we get working on settling our new house, we got a couple things to do. One is band the bull. All castration, when you band That's, that's, that's what we're doing. We're, uh, making his testicles inoperable. Perspective: our main house, the garden kitchen under those sunlights— I mean skylight. Hey, why didn't y'all tie her to the milk sled? You don't need to. You don't need to? They about milk the cow. We're gonna let the calves over. They go to nurse mama, and that's how we catch the calf. We waited too long. Forgot, totally forgot about this calf. Let the calf come, then y'all grab that calf. It's gonna have to be 3 of you. Hopefully 3 of you can hold it. That calf is way too big. We need to roll him on his back. You should do this at about 2 weeks old. How old is that calf? 4 months old? 4 months. Wait, why didn't you grab it? You're only gonna get so many chances, bro. I'll need 3 to jump on him. Grab a leg at least. We just gotta grab him. We can't get away. There you go. Come on, help, dude. Just grab that thing. Once he grabs it, grabs— grab a leg and put it on the ground. Stop, everybody, stop. Just hold him, hold him. Josiah, are you afraid? Now that's right, right there. I got them both. So what is this? We've cut off the blood circulation to his balls. In a couple weeks they'll be shriveled up and gone. Thank you. Saw that wander around the farm. That was a Home Depot delivery. Hey, your, uh, your shelves are here. Incidentally, the coal works, so that must be the heat, the hot one that's broken. Hopefully we'll have that fixed by the end of the day and we can properly wash these.
The first trick is bowing. No, Blaze, one second. Okay, so Blaze, bow. Good boy. Blaze, bow. Good boy. Hopefully one day he'll be able to do it without me having my hand over. Bow.
Bow. There you go. Good boy.
Next trick is kiss. Okay, I'll let him chew that. Okay, please kiss. Please kiss. Please kiss.
Good boy. Please hug. Good boy. Before we start doing the farm kitchen, our freezer freezer upstairs is not working. It wasn't working upon install, just one of those things. Until that gets fixed, we might as well get our secondary fridge and freezer over there So we can use this as freezer for the time being. We're gonna borrow one from the guest house. It's still indisposed from the grease fire. We're having a little snafu with the insurance. Nationwide doesn't want to pay for the cabinets that got ripped out because of it. Grab this fridge. Hopefully there's not too much craziness in here. Not too bad. We can't get through sideways. We're gonna try front ways. You think that fits without taking that door off, Jonah? Yeah. Yeah, it doesn't fit. Okay, take the door off. We have to take the cabin door off. I don't know if it's gonna fit. Okay, go a little bit. Don't fit like that either. I don't know how we got it in there. That was supposed to be a— Easy job. It's getting complicated. Rebecca doesn't remember it being a problem. That means probably the movers moved it and it was their problem. Look at this. Oh, Randolph thought we had to take the doors off and he'll be here shortly, so I reckon that's what we're gonna do. While we wait on Randolph with some proper tools, let's clean this up. We've got plenty of room on the double drop. Okay. Well, the, the top doors are obvious. It's this bottom freezer door that's— yeah, I think this comes off right here. Wait a minute, he's measured it sideways with the doors on and it fits. Will it? Yeah. So we just got to take the handles off. You might not even have to do that. What? We got to take them off? Yeah, we're gonna have to. All right, this little Allen keys, that's gonna be a lot easier than taking the doors off. Well, that was quick. Randolph must have done that while Joan and I cleaned every last one of these drawers. Yay! I pulled the fridge to the dock and then we had this idea, let's pull it far enough up so that the gate will be our ramp all the way up the stairs. We nailed it. I parked Salma and then she just moved. She needs new park brakes. We need to keep moving because I got the fridge, the stuff that goes in the fridge out and the freezer. Kind of on a time crunch. What is not working? Let's see if it's the fridge or the outlets. Wow. Okay, where's the next nearest outlet? Try that out. Whoa, no way! Oh no, nothing in the pantry is working. Try that one plugged in temporarily. But with all of them being out in there, makes me suss that there's a breaker off. Turn the ice— ice bath breaker on. So we see that the fridge is working when it's plugged in out here. Here, try this. That's it. Really? It's on with the icebreaker. A little over an hour to lunch. Oh, I thought I would be so much further than this. This fridge has been quite the complication. We've got to get that fridge and freezer stuff over there before it falls. Ellie, is this gonna be the final coat of your paint for your bed?
Yeah, we already did the final coat, but we're just fixing like all, like, all the stuff.
Like, nice. Got the stuff in the freezer. Jonah's gonna go get the fridge shelves, put that in there. You're wanting me to come see if you're done with the graveyard, huh? Yeah, he clarified, done with the Mini-X work. Let's go see if the Mini-X work is done on it. Okay. Yeah. So if it's here, pulled all the trees. We are building a family cemetery, hopefully in time to have Grandma here. The cemetery— cemetery is only from like here down, but I'm having the boys clear above it so we don't have to— we're going to clear later, and I don't want trees to be falling on the cemetery. Nice rock. I wanted to say yes, you're done, but this is a cemetery. We got to do this right, right? We got to get more light in here. So that grass can grow. We'd like the shade, the getaway, but we need a little more light. We like it heavy trees, not, you know, this ain't gonna be pasture land. It's nice and cool in here with all these trees, but we have a fine balance. Work because we want grass to grow. We got to clear further that way, clear some of these guys. That tree is leaning right over here, so it's got to go, and a few other odds and ends. This was woody and it grows mossy grass. Oven's here and Randolph's got the dishwasher in there. It looks like the hot water is on. Ah, good old Randolph. We'll do our milk parlor in here, clean our farm eggs, wash milk pails right there. Maybe by the end of the day even. The range is coming in for gardening projects, canning, preserving. I foresee us a stainless steel table mobile putting in here and being able to break down some of our own meat. Where do we hook up the gas? Right there. We'll have Dave— oh, it's here. Oven is electric and the stovetop is gas. Hey, look at this! Lily's bed was Rebecca's bed growing up. That's neat.
