Dumpster's here! We've been doing some spring cleaning that has turned into some summer cleaning, so I'm very happy about this. Jonah is already out there milking. I like to be a part of that every day. We're running a little late today though. I'm way out here, almost there, and realized I did not move the chickens. It's gonna be hard to move those chickens with A baby in one hand and the camera in the other. I gotta find this Ergo. I think I know where it is. Where? I put it in the water bottle when I was cleaning out the car. Well, you go look then, Gideon. You can't? She's back. She's upside down, Juan. She's backwards. Hey, the kids do great when they want to, but sometimes they just I don't know, like all of us, we get in moods. The cows do not speak English, but they do speak energy. If you're frustrated, they know it. You're grumpy, they know it. Jacob, our personal trainer, is coming an hour early today. That means we only have 30 minutes. That's not gonna be enough time. We're gonna have to get the chickens out where they are. Rebecca's calling me too, and she's like, you can't leave potatoes out— seed potatoes. Although we're gonna plant them this afternoon, we might not, and then my, my neck will be on the line. Free the birds! It's not the end of the world that they're here. It's just one more day until we get them behind the cows in the pasture. Saw the kids Crushing the blackberries. And these are the domesticated kind that get really big and really sweet. Mm, look at you, honey. Looks great. What are you gonna do with those yellow tomatoes? I'm just gonna push them down. It's a beautiful basket. Okay, there's our seed potatoes. It turns out she's okay with leaving them out. I was mistaken. We actually found some good potatoes. That's the one she's concerned about. That are laying in the sun. That makes sense. You know, the garden of peace. You don't ask questions, you just say, "Yes, honey." Did you get the eggs, bro? Good job, I like it. We're taking the old weeds from yesterday to the chickens, and then we can help the beautiful one get those tomatoes out. Let's go ahead and get a bag for those potatoes. We might be out. We've used a lot of bags. We got a lot of potatoes. The bags will hold themselves, so could I just get the crate? Can I add the potatoes to that load? How'd it go up there? You got the pigs moved? Water moved? Yeah, you're the man. You guys know why we homestead? We homestead for health. Uh, at first it was for our healthy food. But then it's like, well, we get sunshine, we get cold exposure, we get exercise. I got this new heart rate monitor, also measures steps. I've gone 4,846 steps this morning. I just might be about to prove what the body's capable of just with mainly farm work and healthy food. Look at that bumblebee. Dude, Jacob's here and I'm here with the chickens. Let's go, Beck! We doing this inside? Okay, you want to guess how many steps I've taken today already? How many? 3,000? 300? You're funny. 5,209. Wow, how many miles is that? There's 5,000 feet in a mile. Oh, okay. Something 5,000 something. 5,280. I got a bigger stride than a foot. That's what I'm saying. So I think it's, uh, I think it's probably about 2 miles. I've gone 2 miles doing chores. Can I do a half marathon in 3 months by my birthday, which is Halloween? You could. Yeah, I could. I'm not talking about winning it. No, yeah, just completing. Rebecca's like, let's start with the 5K. Well, I'm pretty much gonna do a 5K today. What do you think, Becca? My before and after pic. Wow, hubba hubba! Wow. Yeah, if ever I feel sorry for myself in the evening, people are eating dessert, I mean, like, I like this bud. She's making leftover Philly cheesesteaks. Had to redo the onions, redo the peppers. How is it to snack on some cheese? Meat and cheese, that's what we like. You think I'll be able to eat dairy again? I hope so. Um, Tara from the Slow Down Farm said she couldn't eat dairy, now she can. Nice. Got a little powwow with our carpenter Randolph. Randolph, how you been? For all your fans out there. Okay, for my next book project, Randolph, it's gonna be a monster. It's gonna be a lot like this, and we're gonna do a design book for all my designs. He's gonna get us plans every 4 to 6 weeks. So every 4 to 6 weeks, I'd like to partner with you and have you here to build one of our designs. All right. Yeah, all right. Look at you, you're perfecting this. Look at that juicy— Yeah, I figured it out how to do it much better than last night. Looks like you did a good job. Is it living up to its looks? It's delicious. I got a bite of protein right here. It's a good burger, never gets old. Are you gonna do all these right now? I'm gonna fill up the pot. The question is, do you use all the tomato sauce from last year? We did. Okay, look at that. How long is that gonna take? A couple hours. Let's go have our glory days in the hot sun. We're going to reshape these beds. We got a little detour. See how the grass is— it's encroaching, so we're having to pick up that grass. I would like to get this done at a reasonable time today, and then this evening we can come as a family and plant potatoes if I get the rows built and this cleared. His plate, her plate, their plate, baby's plate. Yeah, we were totally gonna go out and garden this evening. We are totally whooped. Tomorrow's another day.
