Drywall is here! Never mind, that's not drywall, that's siding. Drywall's coming tomorrow. Oh, brings a smile to my face, this crew. I forgot to put the cap up right and it got out. Oh no, he didn't latch the latch. I latched the latch. Take this down to the garden stall, the sand, and put that in the dumpster. You'd rather pick it up than get the machine? So excited when these machines came. Now you're gonna pick up a pallet I need to call the dumpster. It's full. The problem is the insulators apparently didn't get all they needed to get done before the sheetrock comes on Monday, and so it's Thursday, so we need to let somebody know so somebody can come out here. They only have today, which is Thursday, and tomorrow to fix this, and they're not even aware that they need to fix something. So we need to go take inventory of this and get them this information. Bailey's here for the baby. On top of that, Grandma's having a little fit, having a hard time swallowing. We're going to Grandma's first. I hope we make it. We're blinking empty. Uh, we're missing something. In this moment, I'm really satisfied that we brought Big Daddy and Grandma on the farm. This is one of the major reasons, so that we could care for them and help them as they got older. Here we are right next door. I think Rebecca brought up a little essential oil to help clear the breath pathways. Everything okay?
Yeah, everything's fine. She's, she's just got like a, a clogged, congested nose, so I don't want to do any of that up there.
Oh, okay.
And that's, you know, where the boy— okay, it's gonna be connected to the room. I want to do the lofts, and I'm even thinking like—
you just want to do everywhere in here?
Yeah, I do. I just want to do everywhere.
You guys won't believe how much warmer it is in here.
It is. It's very warm in here. I want up there done. I want— I want it to the ceilings everywhere.
What do you not want done?
I want this room done. I want this done.
See? Yeah, so they don't bother each other. Why didn't we just say all the interior? This wall.
Well, so—
everything.
Okay, hold on a second. In my head, when I say a room, like, the room extends all the way to the ceiling because it's— it— sound will go up. Like, sound knows no barrier.
So there's not a wall in here you don't want done?
Yeah, and why didn't it get done? Yeah, like, that's what I'm saying. Like, yeah, let's just do all the walls.
Just do all the walls.
Okay, one second. I want to point this one wall out up there. Yeah, so that it creates no sound from in that loft into this bedroom.
It's very solid.
Oh, do we also want to do this too? I think we want to do this. Yeah, so nice, Justin.
It is very nice.
So nice. Like, oh my gosh, I'm so excited about this. Oh my gosh, it's so good. It's happening, it's happening.
Going acupuncture. I threw away some mortar and shouldn't have. The block mason's coming back for the downstairs. I forgot that. That's done. All right, I'm training Annie and setting up for a beef and a lamb butcher. See how that goes? Is that handy? And then what you find here— I mean, we don't even need that for this, but this is more getting out of the field. Now, it's just gonna be a big guy. Yeah, I don't think we want to pull them out from the mountain, so We're gonna bring him and a buddy and Nacho and his buddy right there. All right, bags for bagging them and putting them in the truck. I'll be in charge of getting the gun, you be in charge of getting the fence set up. Hey, let's go! Watch him, Lily. Shoot! I'll meet you at 10:30. Shoot! Why does she have the truck running? Start the truck on purpose?
I guess Lily started it. I don't know why.
Okay, I'll start the Suburban for you. Why'd you start the truck?
Oh yeah, what? I thought it was like 10.
Lily started the truck almost 2 hours early. Lily thought it was an hour later than it is, but still starting the truck an hour before. That's just crazy. Get off, you're crazy. I'd say there's plenty for me to do. Look at that. Happy day and welcome to another day in the life of some homesteaders living the dream. We've got a 1-acre— boys have pushed all these trees down. I gotta work them up with the chainsaw. We need more pasture because we need more dairy and we need more beef. Oh my gosh, I'm a little overwhelmed by this, but let's just hit one tree at a time. These boys are hard at it, hard to keep up with them. Right here? No, on the other side, all these trees way over there. You gonna come spot me? Yeah. All right. Oh snap! Wow, you guys all right? Are you okay? All right, not complaining, but that was a big snap. Ah, thanks to this lens hood, y'all are all right. Feels like I'm just warming up. It's amazing though how much you can get done in a short amount of time with a chainsaw and a track loader. This is views of the land I've never been able to see before, and this is real nice. Beautiful secluded private pasture over here. Can't see the road, can't see the house. This is a neat place. All right, I better go before Lily has a heart attack. Hey, hey, hey, gotta do— we gotta save it for later. Come on. I just remembered we're supposed to go to Lessons early. We gotta go, Lily. Remember we have to be there early today? Oh, we do? We gotta be there early.
Yeah. I'm gonna lead Peaches back to the barn and tie him up, and then I'll put on his feet wraps. But I'll put— I'll put Blaze in his stall.
Looks like we made it. We are 15 minutes early, which is about what we needed to be. This afternoon, if we want insulation to even have a slight chance of happening before sheetrock on Monday, we have to measure ourselves.
What happens if Sophie can't do it? Can't Randolph do it?
Maybe. In either case, we need to measure. Okay, okay, this is 14 feet.
58, 59. We got it all counted. It's actually quite a bit more of, um, insulation, but that's okay.
We're gonna get it done. Look at this farm fresh dinner! And chicken from the land and acorn squash. Is it hot? We'll let it cool off. Mom, thank you for making this.
