Okay folks, we've got it! The Great American Farm Tour theme song! It's the day before the open bus. It's crunch time. We got the seamstress here. Beauty's working on mattresses. Jeff and Stacy are coming. Grandma's coming. Anybody else coming, Beauty? I don't think so.
I think that's everybody.
All right, I'd like to— let's put together one of these mattresses.
Do you want to be on film?
Yeah, you want You want to be on the film too?
Yeah.
Okay, you will be.
Go, go, go show Papa how you jump on the mattress.
Jump on the mattress.
Whoa!
Good job, buddy.
We got these mattresses and cushions at DIYNaturalBedding.com and it's latex and this cotton twill cover and then wool. We are gonna put this together. This is Josiah or Lily. Please, Matt, one of their mattresses. And it's actually really, really easy. Like, I was a little nervous, I'll be honest, about DIYing it since I just have so many other things to do, but I'm really glad that I did. I'm really glad that I found these people because I really like their products. Just lay that out like that. It would be better if it was all flat, but we're running out of room, so we're gonna lay out the wool batting.
Hang on, buddy. Don't jump on the wool batting, okay?
So line that one— line this up right there. Yeah. I cut the batting, but if you have like a regular size bed, you wouldn't have to do that because it would fit it. So I'm just gonna open this up. All right, let's put the mattress on top of this. This is the mattress here.
You're gonna have to help me get it. All right.
Right? And then we just put this up and zip it up.
That's pretty easy, huh?
So easy.
Wait, you're gonna get to jump on it in just a second.
Oh, you're waiting very patiently.
Just like that, zips up. Okay, you could jump. Oh, it works good, buddy. It passes the Mr. Brown test.
Good boy.
Check out the rug, Stacy. I love it.
Can I have it?
Those are your colors, aren't they?
It is my colors. Can I go to Pier 1 and copy you? Yes, you totally can. Well, I copied you on some of my buys, so Jeff's finishing up some of the construction inside.
You can hear Stacy vacuuming. I'm gonna pick up all this trash from this last week. There's one bag. What you working on, Arun? I'm just using tongue oil.
Nice. You know what tongue?
Nah, it's okay. Jeff, it looks like you're looking for something. I am. What? Well, I'm looking for my drill. I know I have it, but it's a handyman's curse. Yes, you pull it out, set it down, and then it's gone. Forget about where it's at. Somebody picks it up. Yeah. What are you working on? I'm gonna put your dryer vent on. There's my drill. And I started sanding the countertops and tongue oiling them again, the kitchen countertops. Arun and I are replacing these lens caps. We We've got the new gaskets in. Let's do this, buddy. Look who just arrived! It's an old friend from way back. Can't make the open bus tomorrow, so came by today. What's up? You gotta like that welcome, right?
How you doing, man?
Good, how are you? Hey, Lexi! Hello, how you doing? Bringing the little ones today? Yep, with a bunch of little ones. Yay! Did you bring your guitar? No, I did. Okay, I want you to make up a song about the bus later. Okay guys, it's time to come in and eat. There's your lunch, buddy. Wait, wrong room, wrong room. Mr. Brown, come back in here. Go in the living room. We're gonna have a picnic in the living room. It's crazy in here. Look at all these chiddlers. Thank you, Grandma, for making the food. Oh, you're welcome. It looks amazing.
Ooh.
Grilled cheese. Raw veggies. Levi's practicing for a song. This is a talented guy. He's gonna write a song in probably less than an hour. Levi and a bunch of the workers are staying over tonight. We're gonna have another round of Indian food by Arun. We're all looking forward to that and Levi's song. Nice little picnic here.
Justin, this was actually gifted to us from one of your subscribers.
Yes. Thank you very much, guys. It's delicious. You guys having fun?
Uh-huh. Yeah.
Okay, that's what I like to see, chiddlers having fun. That's an arrow.
What is it?
What is the markings? New lenses there, new brake lights there.
We did it!
And this is, this is to keep it— the humidity out from underneath the mattress, right?
No, this is to keep Ventilation flow.
You putting the mattresses in now, Beauty? We are.
We're doing it.
Nice. Now that's a pot of goodness right there. What do you call that?
It's called keema masala.
Let me try it. Keema masala. Yes, you're right. I did it good? Yes. Okay, good. You didn't laugh. Jonah, can you say it? Keema—
say it. Keema masala.
Keema masala. Oh yeah. Huge bowl of rice. Oh, is that Ryda? Huge bunch of cilantro.
Yes.
And dal. What is your favorite about all this? Non-veg is always favorite for me. Where's the beef?
It's a beef.
The beef's in that?
Yeah, this keema is like a minced meat. We call keema, keema means minced meat. So this is keema masala.
Okay.
With the beef, and I put some peas on this.
I think this is the cool table. Whoa, whose plate is that? Mine. You gonna eat all that, Ella?
Maybe. I wouldn't be.
You like it the most, Josiah?
We'll see.
Do you think you can eat that entire plate of food? Okay, we'll see. You come show me if you do it. Stacy, you pretty excited about this?
I am super excited about this.
Arun did a good job. Beauty, we gonna be ready for the open bus tomorrow?
Yeah, luckily we don't have to have everything done. I mean, it's pretty much done.
Yeah.
It's done enough that it looks like it's going to. Um, but yeah, I mean, it's gonna—
it's—
we're still doing stuff to it.
Do we have to hustle like crazy in the morning?
I don't think so. I don't think so. I think that, you know, we'll come over there and do some stuff, but I want to try to relax a little bit since I haven't relaxed much in the last, I don't know, 6 months.
Our latest goal was to leave February 8th. That's Wednesday. Not gonna happen. Seamstress won't be done with her stuff until Thursday at least. And then I think somewhere in there we need to build in some rest before we go on this epic journey. What do you think? So just stay tuned.
We'll leave when we leave.
Yes. I thought you were practicing, but it kind of looks like you've been sleeping.
I was practicing in the dark with my eyes closed.
Oh, okay. That's what I call it.
Did you fall asleep? No, I've been in the dark for a long time.
Okay, you ready?
Am I ready right now?
No, no, let's eat. Oh yeah, I'm ready to eat. Yeah.
I'm ready to eat.
But I mean, are you ready for the song after you eat?
Yeah, after I eat.
Whoa, you guys really did it. You totally cleaned all that food. Papa, can we please have more? And you want more?
Uh-huh.
Sure. You ate it too?
Wow.
Are you wanting to ask me something?
Yeah.
What? I'm a fly, um, wife.
Okay, let's do it.
Yes, Maple is our bus. Climb aboard and learn with us. In Maples we will go, like maple trees we will grow. Climb aboard and learn with us. Join us for these next days. Let's learn about the best ways to farm across the nation, then teach a generation to plant their life just like seed, and from the farm get what they need as we go from shore to shore on the Great American Farm Tour. God bless this sour maple. Keep us laughing as we roam. A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men. Keep us laughing as we roam. Join us for these next days. Let's learn about the best ways to farm across the nation. Then teach a generation to plant their life just like a seed. And from the farm, get what they need. As we go from shore to shore on the Great American Farm Tour. Woo!
Good job, Levi! Woo-hoo!
