Gideon, you gonna go with?
No, I want to clean up with Lily, help her.
Lily, you gonna clean up for real? Okay, I'll inspect after I'm done. You think they'll clean up, Mom? I guess with them having a mind to clean up, they're probably not going to mess it up as bad. What are you transplanting?
Well, I put in another cilantro because that one died. I was training the cucumbers. I put in, um, these are mini white pumpkins, so I'm hoping that they go faster. Yeah, we don't have enough.
We're running out of time. What's this that's actually making it over your green beans trellis?
So this is what was weird about this. So this plant came out of the same packet that the bush beans did. Oh, but this one's a runner.
Oh, weird.
So I don't know if like a runner bean of this variety got in.
So you got lucky?
Well, no, I just happened to plant it. I planted it not necessarily close to this, but it started reaching for it, so I thought, well, I'll just train it up there, and there you go. I don't know.
Good morning, everybody! Alive and well and big. We're doing a little divide and conquer this morning, taking care of the luchadors, the ducks, and the garden. Jonah— or Cousin Laura has gone with Jonah and the kids to move sheep and cows, but you guys need to be moved. This will kind of be interesting by myself. Because we basically have to pick this net up and move it so they're free for a little bit. But ducks are easier to herd than chickens, so I'm pretty hopeful. Thankfully, that was uneventful. The fog has rolled in. That's kind of good, it's going to block me from the sun. As I prepare for hard labor in the garden. Everything we need: line, broad fork, flat shovel, stakes, measuring tape. Although what I would like to— yeah, so what I need to do and pull off this tarp and reshape these beds. 2 rows down, 4 to go. Milking time. Hey, are you Mama's— are you watering Mama's greenhouse plants? Thank you. Rebecca's breaking out her seed catalog.
Cool. Yeah, this is like the most exciting part. Cucumber. So I just— so there are things, but this was the best one for me.
This is—
I keep this in the cool, cool room. Yeah, well, beside—
when I—
you can keep it in the fridge or even in the freezer.
In the fridge or the freezer, and that preserves. Great idea. But I'm looking for my calendula seed.
Onion.
It's almost melted down. That's not breakfast, that's some sort of lunch.
So you just melt it in oil, like, see how it was all Mm-hmm. Oh yeah, and then I just put that in the fridge.
What is it? Smells good too.
And then it's, um, Wellness Mama's body butter recipe.
Nice. And that's it.
You just put it in the fridge, you put it in the fridge, it hardens up, and then we'll whip it with my mixer. Exactly. I'm gonna put it out here in this fridge.
All right, that was the end of the vlog. I'm so sorry, I got tired. I got— there wasn't that much going on. You know, Rebecca put that in the fridge. Here it is the next day. So I figured I could add this onto the vlog, give you guys some content here. So this hardened.
Yep.
In the fridge overnight.
You're not supposed to leave it in it overnight.
How long am I supposed to leave it?
Uh, like a couple hours just to get it like where the edges are hardened. It's a little bit more complicated when you do this, but it's not a big deal.
It's too hard.
No, it's not.
So now you're putting it in the mixer.
Yeah, then just whip it.
How long you whip it?
Until it whips.
There you have it, put it in your books, folks. Whip it until it whips.
Until it turns white and—
For those of us who have our own burn it up cooking shows, we need a little more specific instructions. Those of us who are not wonderful cooks.
You're fine. Just look up the recipe, it'll probably tell you.
Okay, where's the recipe? We're gonna link it.
Yeah, Wellness Mama whipped body butter. Thanks.
Hey kids, look at all this vanilla icing.
Hey guys, who wants vanilla icing?
You guys are fine.
Come on over.
It is edible.
That's because every time I make this, my kids are like, what are you making, Mom?
Who wants a lid?
Are you having carrot cake tonight?
Give somebody some on their fingers.
It's edible.
You know, it is edible because Rebecca believes You shouldn't put anything on your skin that you can't eat because your skin absorbs it and it goes into your body.
Mom, what is that? Uh-oh, this is not chicken.
Okay, while she's doing that, I will tell you this. An update. You notice anything different? I got a new hat. Custom made by a local guy in Asheville. Here's the old hat. Here's the new hat. You think it was time? Flat? Not so flat. Probably tastes waxy.
It tastes like butter.
Here, you taste it, Gabby.
It tastes like some icing. I literally thought it was icing. You can eat your lotion. A new invention.
Hey, you're on to something here, bud. Wellness mom is on to something. Now if you can make it taste like vanilla icing.
Oh my goodness.
That would be something.
Well, you would need to add sugar. Then that would be weird because then you would be all sticky. With your lotion.
So that's whipped.
Correct.
I see it now.
And then you put it back in the fridge for like 15 minutes. I'm gonna set a timer because it doesn't— it does— you need to be more accurate.
You're gonna have to have mercy on the second round. And you just put it in just like that in the fridge?
Yeah, I put it in just like this, and then I will, um, I'm making lotion, and then I will put it into jars. All right, it's a jar I've used.
All right, 15 minutes later, and well, maybe how many minutes later? 15-ish minutes. How about that? Yes, nice. And now do you put it back in the fridge? Nope, now that's ready to be used. So what do you use it for?
Well, it's like my lotion.
I like after a shower. Yeah, put lotion all over your body, or if you need like hand lotion, you're dry, dry skin.
Yeah.
All right, thank you. All right, I'll close out the vlog. Little tease for tomorrow: everybody's got new haircuts, the boys at least. We're also cooking a brisket for the Burn It Up Cooking Show. Holy smokes. So stay tuned tomorrow. And hey, why not, if you're not subscribed, subscribe. You got a better chance of seeing the videos, YouTube recommending the videos. There's always room for one more in this food-growing, loving YouTube family.
