In this upbeat vlog, the host (Speaker A) and Rebecca share a morning of gratitude and motivation, reflecting on the gift of another day and the importance of rest. They discuss the day’s tasks, starting with land clearing using chainsaws, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and progress toward clearing an acre. The conversation shifts to seed planning, listing crops like cabbage, collards, lettuce, broccoli, peas, and tomatoes, and introducing new seed products such as “Silly Seedlings” and “Never Sink Farm” for improved moisture retention. They coordinate moving wood to make space for tile storage, discuss tile patterns for different rooms, and plan solar heat collectors for a sunroom. The vlog also covers cooking, with the host preparing hot‑dog buns, sweet‑potato fries, and discussing a smoker grill, while reminiscing about a beloved cow named Flossie. Throughout, the host highlights family values, respect for the crew, and a philosophy of living in the present, creating a narrative that blends homestead labor, garden logistics, home improvement, and farm‑to‑table cooking.

New personal record for me. I love it when they eat food off the land. Our own homegrown yogurt!
I got finally on seed time and this is my task list.
Okay.
So we do need to seed for cabbage, collards.
So you're gonna plant 105 peas? Heck yeah!
Yeah, cuz I want to—
You two together, I don't know about this. She gets crazy with the garden. She's the crazy plant lady. We're starting cabbage, collards, lettuce, broccoli, peas, tomatoes. Well, you got to get on ordering more seeds.
I know, I'm going right now.
Jenna, let's go. We'll go clear for an hour, then we're going to be planting hundreds of seeds.
Woo-hoo!
Happy day! We woke up this morning. Yes, it's a new day. What if there was a chance we wouldn't have woken up? It's another day. Yes, I live to see another day. Whoa, the feeling's not there. But it starts mustering when you act like that. We made it, Winnie. We made it through the night. Wow! It's a new day. It's a happy day. It's the first day of the rest of our life, as my late father would say. Too blessed to be stressed. Lily, guess what? I made it through the night. I lived to see another day. Woo! And you did too.
You're here.
Ah! You made it through the night. Yes! I don't have to go clear land today. I get to go clear land. The crew is back working on the homestead house. We are the stories we tell ourselves. So it's a happy day. I am a morning person. I love the mornings. I'm in a good mood in the morning. I'm careful when I chainsaw, but I'm not scared. I make the best vlogs possible every single day. Well, not every single day. 5 days a week. I enjoy rest. I don't feel guilty for resting. Resting actually makes me stronger and better. Come on, let's go! Hey, I just realized I forgot the radio. I think we'll be okay. I was getting a shot.
I'll tell you if she texts, if she's called them or not.
Okay, I make the best vlogs possible for everybody.
But we also have to get this farm work done.
Oh, all right, touché. I listen and respect I respect my children, and I'm doing everything now so that when they are adults, they are my friends. Hey, can I get my favorite shot right here? Can I get my favorite shot?
Sure.
I was hoping you would follow me. Nobody else is willing to do this. I hope you like the little transitions. Let's frame that. Let's put that in the very center of the frame. Feel a little bit like a movie. So much done yesterday. One tank of fuel. Gonna be one more tank today. I think we're gonna be pretty close to finishing this year's clearing. Look at what we've accomplished. One chainsaw tank at a time. Over an acre. That's something to be proud of. We've been doing this a lot, a lot lately, but every day is a new day. Some of you may be watching this for the first time. Pulling in that excitement. I'm gonna give you the sickest wood cutting sequence ever. Do I want to drive?
Heck no.
It would be entertaining. They're so much better than me. I like the chainsaw. So stinking proud of these guys. I love it. They are so much better than me on this. I got absolutely no problem with that. I cultivated that. I enjoy that. I delegate them to that, and I'll do the more dangerous job. Ain't scared. Take the proper precautions like safety glasses. Oh, they're gonna kill me. I forgot them. For the boys' sake, I'm not I'm not gonna set up y'all 100 times. You're just gonna have to—
come on.
I got one. I live in the moment. I'm not worried about the future. Because the best thing I can do to ensure my good future is to have the best present moment. Oh, crazy plant ladies still going at it. Lord help us, I pray. I support and love the crazy plant ladies. About to work safe. Hard, but definitely smart and efficient. I'm gonna get you all a sick montage footage of us— a man clearing some land with his boys to feed his family. Mmm, that's good. That's good cause.
One empty.
What?
One empty.
Dang, we're almost done. I think that's the only cluster left. Almost done. Ran out of fuel. I bet we'll get it in one more fuel tank. Mañana. Everybody's safe. Nobody got hurt. We worked together. It's seed time. We told Rebecca 10 o'clock. It's like 10:20. What's the crazy seed lady up to? It's seed time. What do you think? Think it's seed time or what? Put the forks on, we're gonna have to unload the tire. I'm excited about this. Beauty has— is creating a masterpiece with her dream home. Yeah.
I'm thinking what would be easiest is let's move all of this wood.
Okay.
And then we can just start stacking the tile tiles in there.
I think that wood's extra.
Well, they still have to build stairs.
Oh, that's right.
They use that on stairs. I don't know.
Yeah.
I don't know what they use it for.
So why do you want to move that?
Well, so we can stack tile in here. Like, we have all this space right here not being used.
Beauty wants her tile stacked in there. We did it! Nobody got hurt. Hey, I like our new porch. Woo! Believe it or not, this is the only square foot we added on to this house. Lily's bathroom.
Yeah, and I gotta find mine because I want to see— oh gosh, it's gonna be way underneath of it. This is not my tile. This is Lily's tile, but it's the same. It's the same thing.
You don't like those two together?
I don't like these.
Are they gonna be together?
Yeah, well, this one isn't. The coloring is. Okay, do you understand?
So it's gonna be a different pattern, but if that's Lily's room and this is your room, are they going to be together?
Yes, because our flooring pattern is the same pattern. Okay, it's exactly what I want.
The solar heat collectors for the sunroom. It'll be catching that sun, storing that heat, releasing it at night. She is a very blue and white designer.
It's gonna go in this area.
Perfect. Very nice.
It's exactly what I wanted.
She's like a little girl on Christmas morning. She won't even let me help her, she's so excited. See? And then she just She gives up.
No, I don't give up. I just— you're so strong. I got a sample of that one.
Oh, show and tell.
I know, these are— this— somebody sent this to me and said you might be interested, so I bought some.
Well, you're the crazy stainless steel lady.
I know. So these are stainless steel. This is silicone.
What's the name of it?
Silly Seedlings.
Okay, so we're gonna try it, and then we're trying the— and then these are the winter gardeners.
Correct.
Never Sink Farm.
Correct.
I'm concerned that it's only gonna get wet on top, but they assure me it's gonna go down.
It's, it's wet down here.
All right, it's just a new way. Good for our brains. We normally get it really wet, but we're doing soil blocks. Like, because how quick could we make this if we had to make all those soil blocks? It'd be a pain.
It would make it so long. We used to just make soil blocks over and over.
Look at these. Way to use it up and wear it out. Make it do or do without. A little hot here. That's old tile.
It is hot in here. Had last year, I spaced them about a foot apart. Okay, in the thing, in the, um, don't worry about it. Yeah, and but I forgot to save the spacing. I forgot to change the spacing and seed time, so it only has me having 42 tomatoes, but I feel like I should have way more than that.
You're the crazy tomato lady. Come here, I got a job for you guys. Let's do it out here, you're gonna make a mess. Let Henry do it too. Mix it real good, let's get it real wet. This will be our 19th garden, 19 years. These will retain moisture better than those soil blocks as well. Soil blocking is great because you don't have to have any material. It also takes much longer, and they dry out fast because there's no wall around them. It's just a block of soil. What are you planting, Rebecca?
This is lettuce.
This is romaine, broccoli, bunching onions, cabbage. You are planting tomatoes, so I guess they're gonna be transferred out to the high tunnel.
Not for 6 weeks. I mean, we're gonna grow them up big.
Rebecca, it's a lot to make these buns. My afternoon of work be looking like this. Oh yes, yes, okay, yep, we'll do that. Can you guys think of a better way to eat meat than on a smoker grill? I like to start that super early. Hey, I like that you're trying hot dog buns for them. You perfect that and then you and I will have a, um, Bratwurst or a hoagie with onions. Perfect. 350, 375. Oh boy, the wind ignites the flame, the air, so we've got to hurry up and shut this. Oh yeah, the oven's like 450 now with all the air. It was quite the task getting everything off. Couldn't film it or it was gonna be the Burn It Up Cooking How'd they turn out?
I think they turned out all right.
We're gonna find out. And they made some sweet potato fries for me. We have eaten all of Flossie. Stud muffins should be due anytime. So they just bought from a local farm. I'm less Flossie. They're so good. That'll taste a lot like Flossie. Looks like a real hot dog bun.
I haven't had a real hot dog bun in forever.
Everybody try their hot dog buns first time.
Mmm, so good.
Wow, it's funny how this tastes so different than Flossie. Funny how different meat is different in taste. Has a hair of a sour flavor, doesn't it? I had a hard time getting used to Flossie at first, but she grew on me.
That's a shame, we'll never have her again.
I know, we will literally never have that cow again.
I love this guy.
La la la la la, let me be free.
