In this comedic monologue, the speaker recounts the growing difficulty of surprising his wife because she is extremely observant and tech‑savvy. He shares three episodes that illustrate this challenge: first, his wife tracks his movements with an Insta360 camera, instantly knowing he’s at a garden store and thwarting his surprise; second, he attempts to use Amazon’s “save for later” feature to hide a gift, only for his wife to purchase the same item herself, turning the surprise into a shared joke; finally, he resolves the issue by having his wife simply text him the exact gift she wants, eliminating the need for covert planning. The narrative blends self‑deprecating humor with practical tips for couples navigating modern gift‑giving in a hyper‑connected world.

It's getting harder and harder to surprise my wife. See, she's smart as a tack. Smart? Sharp as a tack. See, I can't even get that. She's smarter than me. It's getting difficult. Case in point, I was mountain biking. We're done. We're gonna go home. She's not with us. I'm gonna go by the Fletcher Lawn and Garden, get her a surprise, something plantish. Go in there, they don't really have anything I think she would like. On my way out, I get a text. She said, what you doing at the Fletcher Lawn and Garden? She had been tracking Insta360, and I say, honey, you can't be tracking me. I'm trying to get you a gift. To which she coaches me on how to get her a gift and not ruin a surprise. She said, well, you could have just told me you were getting something for the farm. Then again, I had to spill more beans. Honey, I can't, because you— if you keep tracking me, the next place I go, you'll definitely know what I'm up to. Stop tracking me. She stopped tracking me. I got her the gifts. She liked it. Next, I found this hack, the Amazon Save for later hack. I go into the Amazon, say, it's a good idea, save for later. She went and pulled the trigger and get it for herself. This is gonna be a perfect gift. So I got this like beauty product looking gel looking thing, didn't give it much thought, pulled the trigger, got it. When she opened the gift, she was excited, laughed. The boys were excited because it was some aloe hair gel for them. So be careful when you do the, the, the the save for later. Make sure you get the thing she has saved for herself. I think we've come up with a solution. Finally, I said, okay, now what I'm doing with her is text me the gift you want and I'll save you the trouble and I'll pull the trigger for you.
