It’s NOT a Tumor, It’s Grosser

In this on‑site vlog, the host (Speaker A) and farm crew walk through a day of troubleshooting a frozen and clogged Everflow waterer, managing livestock (pig bedding, milking, egg collection), and coordinating crew tasks. They discuss using a 5‑gallon vacuum‑seal waterer, deep wood‑chip bedding for a pig named Beefcake, and cleaning up spilled milk. The conversation then shifts to a home renovation project in the attic: relocating ventilation pipes, removing a popcorn ceiling, installing a 3‑foot pocket door, creating a laundry closet, redesigning a bathroom, and considering a solar‑tube skylight for better lighting. Participants (Randolph, Rebecca, Jonah, Lily, and others) exchange ideas about construction logistics, lighting upgrades, and weather expectations, ending with a light‑hearted forecast of possible snow.

Believe it or not, Phyllis has clogged up again. Whoa, got it! You want to go?
Beefcake can wait.
Beefcake can wait.
Cheesecake can wait.
Beef can't. Okay, I see Beefcake has dug all the way down into the ground. I see our Everflow waterer came out.
Oh yeah, I can't even shut it off to let water—
oh shoot, snapped off. I think it might have frozen because the water wasn't moving because it wasn't getting any water. All right, maybe it is going through slow. So maybe turn it on slow and we'll turn on higher this afternoon. Let me explain. That's our Everflow Waterer. We got water coming in gravity-fed all the way from the pond. It— gravity pulls it down so it's always moving. That got disconnected, and then it runs through the Everflow Waterer system I invented and then back down to the creek. Now that slope is not as much— he's saying hey— that slope is not as much So I'm wondering if water gets stagnant in there and freezes, and if that's the case, water's not going to flow. I tried to close off any water going down into that pipe so that I could let the water build up in the, the S-curve, because a lot of times you got to let that build up, then open it, and then the weight of that water pushes water down through the line because we lost our siphon because there was no water running down the exit. It, uh, pipe. Lily, how many eggs you get?
We got 7 eggs.
Okay, good. I mean, that's better than, than the 3. They're starting to come back into lay. Look, let's see how beautiful. Can we see how beautiful? Oh, he won't even let y'all see. Some mood.
Let's just come fix this at 12 or something.
Uh, that's a good idea. Things will thaw out by then, but we got to get them some water. Hopefully things will thaw out because it's supposed It's supposed to be cold. I think it'll get 40 today. That'll be plenty. Yeah, it doesn't look like it's gonna work, so Jonah's gonna get a 5-gallon vacuum seal waterer and we'll fix that this afternoon. In the meantime, we gotta get some deep bedding into Beefcake. Well, it's gonna take forever. We need a good bit of wood chips. Let's keep him replenished. There's his hole. There's his holy squat. There's his poop corner. Let's not feed him anywhere near the poop. Get some order back into here. That's already looking much better. That was bare ground. We want to keep bare ground covered and we want to keep his manure covered. So I think we're gonna have to do a wheelbarrow load probably once a week. The, the crew's here getting up the blankets. All right, they're indeed— they're uncovering it, getting the wood off. Now come on, guys, we're not riding on it this morning. They want to ride on it, they want to ride on it so bad, but we're already behind doing our chores. Plus it's a little wet from the blankets, and I think it's freezing pretty quickly. Y'all ready? We gotta milk, but first we've spilled some milk. Oh wow, there's all milk in this. Okay, let's rinse that out real good before we Put water in. Okay, we try again. Let me try it. All right. Oh yeah, that's better. That's much better. All right, that's good enough. Believe it or not, Phyllis has clogged up again, but this time I know what to do. We'll get it warm and then we'll unplug it. It feels so full, so I wonder if it's been clogged for a little bit. Calf couldn't get it out.
The floor bucket's right there.
Unfortunately, it doesn't feel like something's in the tip like it has been, but we can try.
Hmm.
Whoa, I think it's like scarred up or something. There it goes, there it goes. Got it, got it. Oh yeah, you guys want to see this? People be wanting to know what this fatty tissue looks like. That little snotty piece, it looks like snot actually. There and there, that's what fatty tissue looks like. In a month she'll be weaned, so we'll be done with that. Grandma, hello! You're already done?
Already done. We've got a quart and a little.
All right, I hear the machine winding down. Yep, good job. And more. Basically free protein, high protein feed for the pigs. Who is it, Daddy? Who is it? Let's go see, let's go see. Oh, Randolph's here! All right, we got to get you coffee going.
Oh yeah, I'm ready for that. Okay, Hawaiian flavor.
Okay, good. What the— what are the boards for?
We got to figure out today where we're going to put the little wells and where everything goes.
Okay, that'll be fun. Let me know when you're ready to lay it out.
All right.
Randolph is in the attic, which is not very big, so I might owe him 2 coffees if that's the case. You up there? Oh my word, he is in the attic. Randolph, I'm gonna owe you 2 coffees, my man. What's up there?
A lot of itchy stuff. Oh, you got a little bit of room up there, huh? Where I need to go.
Oh no, can I go look at it?
Figure this out. Thank you, I appreciate it.
Yep, you're gonna have to get up in the attic because you got to move two ventilation pipes, right?
Yeah, yeah, and it's— I don't think I can even crawl over there, man. Yeah, you gotta figure this out somehow.
Okay, I can crawl over there.
You could, couldn't you?
Yeah.
We're gonna be itching when you come back though.
Can Jonah do it, or is it so skilled he can't do it? Or is it too small for Jonah?
It's about— it's about too— I'd hate to have him up there because see all them nails?
Yeah.
Sticking through the—
yeah, I mean, it'd be okay.
I wouldn't get a nail in the head.
The problem is where he's got to go is way back there. This gets so small. If it was up here, it'd be fine. It's these ventilation pipes he's got to relocate. There was walls here, but the beautiful one doesn't want any walls here. So see, see how this— the roof pitches right there? There, you have no room right there. Or even right there, do you?
No, I've got a chance at getting to that one, but I just don't know yet.
But that one, there's even a wall up in there. Yeah, he's thinking he might cut the ceiling right there and then you could get at it. Yeah, you do that. Yeah, I can get to it. Then you can put the ceiling back because— are we even putting this back, the popcorn?
I don't know, I hadn't heard of that.
I doubt it. She's probably gonna have something done with that popcorn. Are you keeping that popcorn ceiling?
No.
So what are you gonna do with it? This?
Well, I was gonna talk to Randolph today about it.
Well, now might be a good time because he's gonna maybe need to rip out the ceiling part right there. Hey, she don't want that popcorn.
No popcorn?
No, I don't want popcorn.
I'll leave them with butter.
I would take some with butter and salt.
It's the wrong kind of popcorn, Randall.
It is, ain't it?
If we, if you have to rip the ceiling off, like I heard there might be a rumor of that, um.
Yeah.
We can hire the drywall guy that did our living room. He like works on the weekends type thing. Yeah. He like just picks up odd jobs and stuff, so we could, um, have him do the ceiling and then the walls too. Too, you know, that we need to have done.
Um, you just want to smooth— yeah, sheetrock ceiling. Yeah, I'll just cut that little bit of ceiling out where I can get up in there.
Okay, redo them pipes.
Okay.
Well, I missed the meeting with the beautiful one and Randolph, so tell us, Rebecca, give us a tour of your grand vision in here.
Well, we're gonna be able to— so this is where the wall used to be. Yeah, we're gonna put— he's moving this one and that one, and we're gonna be able to put a 3-foot pocket door in here.
Okay.
And this will be laundry. This will be a laundry, um, closet.
So the washer and dryer will be over there. What's the pocket door for?
For the bathroom.
Oh, it's gonna be two separate rooms. Cool.
And we're gonna We're gonna barn door this door so it'll slide like our room down there.
Should we put him to— should we get him to put a skylight in, one of those tube skylight ends, while he's at it there? Because I didn't realize that was a whole nother room not getting any natural light. It's not a terrible idea.
Look at that.
Hey, he likes that Hawaiian coffee. He don't mind a few extra days.
Okay, so then vanity, toilet, you're standing in the bathtub, and then like a shelving unit over there.
Okay.
And yeah, that's not a terrible—
okay, so what do you think about a solar tube right there?
A solar tube?
You know what I'm talking about?
Yeah.
I don't know if that's the right name for them.
Yeah, that would work.
Yeah, see, I didn't realize there was over the washing dryer. That'd be neat, man. It'd be a lot better light than these Orange.
Yeah, I mean, I have a light fixture that we're gonna do, and then there's daylight in there too. I want to actually change every light fixture in this house.
All right, hey, just keep the coffee flowing. Coffee coming is good. Hey, who thinks it's gonna snow tonight?
Me.
It's supposed to. What do you think, Grandma? Is it gonna snow? I think so. 80% chance.
Yep.
Okay, okay, we set it all up today for a snow day tomorrow. We might be doing chores in the snow. Wouldn't that be nice if they were already in the deep bedding? It would be. This time next year, this snow's not gonna be a problem. One last thing for the vlog, a really happy ending here. They've been begging me to do this. It's finally here. Oh!
