KIDS Homemade BAKE-OFF (Valentine's Day Special)

In this YouTube vlog, Victor Justin Rhodes (Speaker A) chronicles a hectic Valentine's Day at his family farm. The day blends home‑renovation projects—coordinating a plumber, insulation crew, and siding work—with a playful blind bake‑off competition that pits his daughter Lily against her brothers (Jonah, Josiah, Gideon, Knox) for a video on Lily’s channel. The contest is set up so outside judges cannot see who baked which cake, adding comedic stakes like being "egg‑ed" if they lose. Throughout the vlog, the family tackles a shed‑to‑container cleanup, sells surplus items (ping‑pong table, tools), and prepares a dinner of gnocchi. Farmhand Annie assists with both the kitchen and farm chores, while Speaker A scrambles to buy an orchid after forgetting to get flowers for his mother. The narrative is informal, energetic, and community‑focused, highlighting family dynamics, DIY home improvement, and light‑hearted competition on Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day! Josiah, you drive and meet them over there. I'm gonna see if the remodel needs anything. The plumber is here and he did text me. He needs something. I'm pretty sure I messed up royally with the beautiful one this Valentine's Day. We were at the store last night and Lily said, should we get some— get mom some flowers? Yes, guys, yes, the answer is to that is always yes. I said no. More winter cleaning today. We're going to tackle a container. I mean, we crushed that shed yesterday. Why can't we do a container today? See what the plumber needs. An impromptu meeting with the insulation guy. The siding guy's waiting on me and the plumber needs me. Wanna key? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, wow, we're getting— I didn't know that was gonna happen until after sheetrock, but we're getting batting insulation, interior insulation, just sound over the master bedroom. Switch with me, switch with me. And every bathroom. Plumber, radio real quick and give Mom one. Thank you. It's about the remodel, honey, getting us in. You're taking part. I don't want in, but I don't know if they recognize I didn't realize that like helping on this actually gets us in sooner. This nub, talked to the plumber about capping that off. Lower, we're gonna be without water again, so I don't think that's gonna happen today. For the siding, we decided down here in these nooks, this side will be wood just like this side. It's gonna get beat up, but out here, which what people will see will be the nice Hardy board siding. Whoa, you're overexposed. There you go. How about that? It doesn't come as fun for me cleaning out the shed. Is it fun for y'all? You like doing that?
This goes to the fence stall.
Fence stall.
Fence stall.
Fence stall.
Put it right here. Fence stall. Good morning, Annie.
Jonah's trimming hedges.
Okay.
And then I've not seen Josiah yet.
That's what he's got to do this morning. That's what he decided to do. I'm thinking we'll put fence saw stuff on a stall— or on a pallet. Okay, and then we can move it with the machine over towards it. I like that, because then you have to walk all this stuff individually. Would you count that as fencing? Gideon, slow down. Annie, I messed up big time yesterday. We were in town and Lily said, should we get Mom some flowers?
Oh no!
And I said no. What was I thinking? Did Michael get you flowers this morning?
We're making gnocchi tonight for supper. Um, it's a potato pasta. Okay, yeah, potato-based pasta.
I messed up, didn't I? I'm gonna have to get you to sneak in town and get me some flowers for her. Get me out of the doghouse.
Wait, so who is it?
She's not mad. She's like, it's okay. And I'm like, it's terrible. I can't believe that. Hey, I thought you were hedging. I was. Well, let's knock this out. You want to? $100 a month right here. That's gonna be some ping pong table. We're taking the proceeds of all these set— we're selling some of this ping pong table. We might even be able to get a foosball table at this point. Barrel stall, metal yard, Rebecca's 2020 canning purchase, fence stall, tools for sale. That container can go away. Don't worry, we're not gonna gunk this up too much, just temporary. We're gonna just set it here until we can put it inside. As soon as we can get back in, we're gonna start building us another mineral feeder. To just be out of control with excitement. I don't think you should be helping them.
I'm not—
I'm, I'm helping them just as much as I helped Lily. I, I did all of this with Lily.
Lily had this idea to do a bake-off her versus the boys for a video for her channel, and that's what we're doing today. That's what got me up this morning. It's gonna be exciting. Y'all lose, y'all get egged. They just did this so that then she would be in a video of theirs for airsoft. Like, how embarrassing would you be if like Lily won? Wouldn't that be terrible? Yes. Okay, so be sensitive. What dessert have you chosen? A pie. It's hilarious. The boys are prepping for their baking. Lily is ready. Lily, you ready for this Valentine's Day bake-off? What if you lose? No, you have to win.
I do have to win.
You cannot lose a baking challenge.
Have you seen my pictures?
From boys who never bake.
I've been planning for 2 days.
I, I think you put in the work. All right, Knox, you ready for this? Did you already set it up over here, Lily? Yes.
So here are the people with the cake.
Guys, I don't want them reading your faces and knows who's who.
We could stand behind them.
The point is that We're inviting some outside guests to come in and judge these cakes. They have no idea who's baking what, so they can't play favorites. Oh, that's good. And then they can't even see you. I like that. Yeah, y'all get to stand behind them. Okay, boss man, you ready? Uh-huh. Hey, this is what got me up this morning. I thought about this, this, this baking contest. I thought this was going to be a lot of fun.
It is, because I'm going to win.
What if you lose?
Then I lose. I'll be embarrassed.
You're gonna cry? No, no, we just want to have fun. Yeah, just relax, have fun. It's a game.
I'm confident.
Yeah, you got injured at a bake-off? He's already injured. We're trying the intro here. We're taking a couple of shots. The baking competition is well underway. How you guys feeling so far about it? It was a little bit chaotic there in the beginning.
The cake is in the oven.
Okay.
And we're cleaning up.
You're really ahead of the game then.
Yep.
What's the problem? We need a whisk. A whisk? You didn't think to get a whisk? How's it going for you guys other than forgetting a whisk? Not good. Uh-oh. I guess I've turned into Aaron boy. Lilia and Lois have got this. It looks like our container has been taken away. Get me those flowers. So I bought them. An orchid.
I don't know how she feels about live plants, but when you read—
that's the best.
When— why?
No, that's what I thought.
When you read the card, you need to go sign the card.
You're invited to a cake testing at 3:30. Oh, I heard.
I saw the boys.
Wow.
Thank you, thank you.
World land speed record in tractor. Yeah. Heck yeah. Annie's got something going with all these older men, don't you? Let's go see how the boys are doing, and let's get my flowers. If you don't know Annie, she farms sat for us a while. Was so good, we hired her as a farmhand. She's doing great, and she saved me today on this Valentine's Day. Let's see what y'all are really doing. We hired a professional cook.
Here's our crust and peanut butter and chocolate, and then this is our ice cream.
Is he helping you? Yep. No. John says yeah. John, you help clean? Yeah, he cleans. He cleans. He's got his shoes off. He's the only one behaving. Does this floor look like it's been— Oh, you know it's got your shoes on. There's the flower arrangement. I like live plants. You don't just throw them out when you're done.
We caught you in action.
You think I would forget you? It is morning, he's not dead. You think I'd forget you on Valentine's Day?
You're funny. He led me to believe that he forgot me. Oh, get cash in this?
Yeah, $100 bill.
Buy yourself something pretty.
Your Valentine's Day gift is 5 babies.
Yeah, where's my Valentine's Day gift?
He's watched a lot of baking shows.
I know. I think she's got a challenge when it comes to taste.
Now decoration and story might be mine.
I'm thinking so. We'll see. How many times are you guys gonna come over here? I don't know.
I hope Austin is getting this on film. Are you gonna use any more fruit shakes?
Oh, that was easy. Let's go tell the boys timeout. Hey, how'd y'all do? Fine. You think? You got a chance? Why not? You got a chance at a story? Uh, no. Think it looks better than Lily's? I don't know. Just wrapped it up with the judges. It's an impromptu party. I love the unplanned community this video created. The best kind of community. We came together for a project. I mean— It was also fun. It's fun project. That was really cool.
