This is a YouTube vlog-style announcement titled "Learn Homestead Design (this weekend)" (created 2023-01-16). A single host delivers an unscripted, conversational promo about an upcoming homestead/permaculture workshop (live in the "People Barn", Sunday 2–6 PM) and a related Abundance Plus offering. The host outlines workshop topics (intro to permaculture, 12-step ordering of homestead build, how to find/assess land, 7 common pitfalls, goal-setting, where to start/where to go next, gardening & chickens), mentions a forthcoming 100-day homestead time-lapse documentary, and provides promotional details (15% "anti-inflation" discount on Abundance Plus until Jan 22 1 PM ET, premium benefits, live Q&A/consults, community app). The speaker references team members (Dan, Austin) and family/pets; tone is informal and promotional.

Um, no vlog today, just a quick announcement. We took Saturday off, so there's no vlog showing today. But can you believe it, we're like a week away from finishing the 100 days of building a homestead. We've got a very nice special for you guys at the end of that. Uh, we're compiling— it's going to be a 100-day time lapse of the progress we made on that project. So it'll be a documentary style video. Dan is currently working on that full-time right now, and we've got Austin, our fill-in editor, editing our vlogs to the end. Whoo! Okay, the quick announcement. As we were going closer to the new year, we traditionally launch Abundance Plus. We open up registration, we open up for premium members and things like that, and I began to think, How can I best serve the audience? And what's the problem? So I see folks struggling, they maybe work, a lot of you are working alone and you're trying to do this all by yourself. Everyone struggles with this work-life balance and struggling and trying to figure out how to get everything done. Overwhelm. I have my notes here. This is raw. No editing this. Folks are overwhelmed. If we aren't experiencing it now, we have. And if we haven't yet any, we will. We're probably not aiming high enough if we haven't experienced any overwhelm. And of course, everybody's struggling with— none of us have enough time. None of us have enough money. To get everything we want done. And many of us struggle with energy. I, with Lyme disease, many with other different kinds of issues. So I've thought about how to help people, and for a long time I've wanted to do something around a permaculture course. Guys, when I was struggling— and I'll talk more about this in videos this week with my story— and I was experiencing this great overwhelm, and I felt like The farm wasn't giving as much as it was taking from me ultimately, and things had to change. And that's when a friend turned me on permaculture. He gave me a Jeff Lawton video that I ended up watching, and it was this amazing video and tour of his farm. He seemed so focused. The, uh, the farm, everything seemed to work together, and he was getting so much abundance from so little input, and Um, the beautiful one is coming here. I'm probably gonna disturb this one take. Um, hopefully she'll— hopefully I can fly right through this. Feels live because I don't want to make a take. Um, so in a way it is, but anyway, and I just recorded this right before I put publish. So anyway, um, I was struggling and then I found permaculture. But here's the thing— hey, hey, Lily. I just got back from horse lessons. You've got to either read the book Intro to Permaculture, which I highly recommend, by Bill Mollison, or get the big book Permaculture Design. Um, definitely start with Intro to Permaculture, or you take a permaculture design course which is like 2 weeks long, and you learn how to design. It has an angle of designing other people's property, not necessarily your own. Sure, can you apply it to your own self? Yes. But it's a full-on, full-time for 2 weeks. Homesteaders don't got that kind of time, or, or do they need to make that kind of commitment? You're just wanting to design your own homestead. People want to know where to start. That was a big question when I said, what's your number one struggle? And people said knowing where to start. Or you could say knowing where to start or where to go next. That's a big struggle. And so that's all the people need. That's all the homesteaders need. Let's create and cater something just for you guys, just for homesteaders, that is a permaculture design course or workshop or which one. I think this is going to end up being more of a workshop. This is Sunday, uh, is that— hold on, I might be jumping ahead of myself here. Uh, yeah, no, no, this is Sunday that From 2 to 6 PM, it's gonna be live. It's gonna be over there in the People Barn. I say over there, here, here, give you some context. Over there in the People Barn, and I'm going to— you wanna hear the silly bus? Which is like, silly bus. How to avoid the 7 most common pitfalls to keep you from success. Knocking away at the age-old time, money, and energy problem. 7 steps for setting the right goals. It's important that you have the right goals and how to prioritize them to get satisfaction by the end of the day, even when you don't get it all done. How to— oh, 8 things to look— no, no, no, no. How to look for land. Okay, how to look for land. Yeah, okay. 8 things to look for in land, and that could apply for if you're buying land or if you're already on land, how to look at it through a permaculture lens to work with nature rather than against it, to make connections of everything, to get more so that the farm then is giving you more than it's taking. We— homesteading should serve us, not we serve homesteading. Uh, or it's got to go because there's more important things, aren't there? Uh, how, how to order the building of your homestead. So what order do you go in? I've made some mistakes in the past. You know, people say, what are some things you've done that maybe you regret? And related to homesteading, it's that I didn't identify the boundaries, I didn't find all the water sources, and I didn't find access. You can walk through if you want. Mr. I am trying to make this in one cut. So, uh, Gideon or Henry did wake up. Oh, did he? And he was not ready to wake up, and the only thing I could do to console him is put him on the vlogs. Okay, so maybe he wants to nurse. I doubt he'll go back to sleep though, but maybe he'll go to bed tonight. Yeah. Okay, I'm almost done. Um, then, and I'll give you 12 the 12 steps in order, and you might identify where you are on those steps and say, oh, I should probably go back and do this. Or you might— it will help you know where to go next, and it'll certainly help you if you're getting raw land and you need to know what's step 1. And finally, 3— well, not finally, there's 2 more— 3 checkpoints for knowing where to start. And that could also be— that will also talk about where to go next. So where to start or where to go next. And of course, we're going to do a little quick intro to permaculture lesson. We're going to go some over the key principles of permaculture as applied to your homestead. You're going to come in to this event, um, if you're, if you're confused or overwhelmed at any of that, we're certainly going to prove that. But if you just have an open mind, you're going to come to this event and you're going to walk away with many aha moments, and you're going to walk away knowing If not, during the event, depends on how ambitious you are, you'll have the tools, the equipment, and everything you need to create your own plan for your homestead. You will know how to set goals, how to prioritize them, and then you'll know where to start, where to go next, and you'll know then where everything goes. So you learn that you want to start at gardening and chickens, which is generally a great start for almost anybody. Where do they go? Well, we're going to talk about that. I made a huge mistake, 130 feet away with my first garden, chickens in a whole different spot on the north side of my house. Not a good idea. We'll talk more about that on Sunday. Uh, I think that might be wrapping it up. So, oh, the other thing, when I was thinking about what everybody needed and how I could serve the audience, is I got curious about you, the price increase and inflation. And I asked Mr. Google Pants, I say, Mr. Google Pants, I'm holding it like this, like a phone. But you know, I asked my phone— I should hold it more like this. I asked my phone, Siri, how much inflation last year? 2022, there's like 7% inflation across the board. That means prices are going up. I don't have to tell any of y'all that. Y'all know that. You're probably not even gonna believe me that it's that low, but this is pretty hot. 7%. Okay, that's what Mr. Google Pants said. So across the board, prices have gone up 7%. Y'all know egg prices are cray-cray right now, okay? But my chickens back there feed same, chickens just keep on laying the eggs. They don't care about the prices. They don't, they don't read the news. They don't watch it either. They're just out there pecking and stirring and squatting and laying eggs. So, uh, where was I going with that? Um, oh yeah, so the inflation. So we're going to do— I, I said let's do the anti-inflation sale. 10%, that's not enough. Let's double down on this. 15% off. Let's do 15% off. A lot of people having to raise their price. I understand it. We're in a place— this is a digital product, uh, we could take the hit. We can give the discount during this time of need. 15% off right now up until January 22nd. The event starts at 2 Uh, let's do this till, uh, 1 PM Eastern. So that's January 22nd, 1 PM Eastern, 15% off Abundance Plus. So if you sign up for this, uh, I hope I'm telling you this like— we're gonna do a homestead. Yeah, I said that.
