Hey, you got one less chore today. Three little pigs gone. It's that time of year, winding down. Three little pigs gone. Kind of sheep. Yeah, sheep tomorrow. Happy day. Late start today, staying up and watching the election. We go to bed by 10:30. That's late for me. Rebecca by 3. That showed me Rebecca's heart last night, reminded us You know, she just stands visual for this family, you know, always staying informed. Fun fact about those 3 little pigs: they were within 5 pounds of each other. I've never seen pigs grow so closely together. No wonder yesterday we couldn't figure out who the dominant one was, so we just plucked them as we went. The animals don't care if it's Election Day or the day after. They don't care if Mike Tyson is fighting. They don't care if it's Easter or Christmas or Sunday. They gotta get moved. They gotta get water. They gotta get milked. Happy day! You happy with the election results, He-Man? Honey, you happy with the election results? No. Sheep, you guys happy with the election results? They are like the earthworms. They don't care. They keep going. Blaze, what about you? Should we walk them on down to the trail? Be easy, milk them on the flat. No, I'm asking Josiah. Okay, just because the cows doesn't— don't care doesn't mean we shouldn't. It doesn't mean we shouldn't vote according to protecting our freedoms to raise them and take care of them and do for them. The more innocent and do less you are, the more we have to stand up and protect you, right? And our right to have you and raise you the way we want to. Name of the game this morning is to get ready for the sheep butchering tomorrow. Our bellies don't care. We gotta eat no matter what happens, right? Look who's here. One of my children want me. These boys, they're getting more and more into the pen— in the pen— yeah, more and more dependent so they don't want me. Per se. They got their own ideas. Okay, what's your idea for the morning? I was just gonna go finish that wall. Okay. And then fill it in. Rebuilding the creek wall after Hurricane Helene. I love for them to come, even if they go off and play. One of the secrets to successful butchering is to be ready, be prepared. So we prep a lot the day before. Almost have tomorrow's paddock set up, like one net. Just set up the next paddock, which is technically today's chore. So we want to do tomorrow's too. That means a net around this whole place. You doing a little bare feet? How you doing, little bare feet? Come here. Oh, I can't carry you for this next part. I gotta put up a net. Okay, can you two play up here? We're playing a game. Yep, get in, play with him. Flossies, you seen that? Yes, I got it full of magnets. Oh, it is? Listen, you can hear it moving. And too much time later, we finally got the net up, came down to Rich Mullins. We've got some panels. It was your idea to do panels, kill them in place. Yeah, that'll be most peaceful for them. And because they're so small, we can put them in the back of one of the machines, the Sally or Selma. You think it'd be easier to put the fence up top and haul them up a little bit, or put the fence down towards the bottom and haul them down more? So it's hauling them further but downhill, or hauling them a little bit but uphill? Probably down. Hey, this is looking good. Preparing our creek. It's gonna look better than it was. We're gonna put dirt because I left to— I left that dirt so we can actually grow grass for real. Well, that'll help in an overflow event, you know, like a normal hurricane. I don't think it's going to overflow with how wide— in a normal hurricane event, I think it will, like the 10-year flood. Remember the— maybe, but that would overflow no matter what. Lily's jumping this crazy height. What is that, 3 feet, 2 and a half feet? She's jumped that? Yeah. You jump this? Oh wow, you actually made him jump there, buddy. No stepping over that one, Blaze. Beautiful ones calling me. At one point, do we say we've grown enough meat? Okay, so we're looking to see if we, if we need more freezers. Okay, that's not the last of it even. There's more in a chest freezer out in the basement. Okay, is this our veggies? No, this is kind of a mix between veggies and meat. Pork tenderloins, pork ribs. Broth. I feel like we could probably combine some of these freezers. Yeah, got a little bit of room here. We had 3 porks, we have a steer, and we have 8 sheep. We have this. Maybe we'll have room like that turkey in there and that fat. Yeah, we do. We have a chest freezer up there, but we don't want to put anything in the chest freezer but poultry. Why do we have so much fluid? We bought some, we thought we needed a whole bunch for our ground. That's insane. And then we didn't need that much. Like, we have So much. One of these days we need to make tallow. Yeah, that's all there is to it. We have so many beef bones, I could be a beef broth snob, which I would like to be. So do we need to buy a freezer? So 3/4 of freezer, half a freezer, that's 1 and a quarter, and then 1, so 2 and a quarter. If we could free up 2 freezers somehow, I think we can get down to 2 freezers. We don't want to buy another freezer. I'm getting there, chipping away at the freezers, getting ready for this meat. Tomorrow, butchering lambs. You don't want to miss that. Tune in. Thanks for joining us. Happy day.
