Up over there, Teddy. Good boy. Definitely not my usual morning routine. Would have done this at 2:00 in the morning if Walmart would have been open. We're going to get one of these because this is broken. This is a pump. She had some excruciating pain last night, signs of mastitis. She's feeling better a little of this morning, but we're gonna see if we can't remedy that. Well, we are there, but this will be a first. I don't think I've ever left you in the car. Got the windows down. Uh, I couldn't leave him at home to bother everybody though, so, um, wanted Mama to be able to sleep in. We were basically up from midnight to 3 and then really restless sleep till about 4, and then she went to sleep. So we're kind of running on empty. All right, be a good boy. That had to be the worst night since Henry's birth, and it wasn't even Henry's fault. He's been a really good baby, really good sleeping baby. Are you kidding? I skipped Walmart because we like Target better because the internet said 7, but the sign says 8. All right, backtrack to Walmart. Well, I'm back, Teddy, and you did just fine, so So with a little bit of time, you'll be fine for a little bit longer. Red light. You enjoying this, or would you rather be back on the farm? Teddy, hold down the fort. A few choices. Doesn't look like they're gonna have parts for our existing one. She said this one will do. Teddy, you did all right. Oh, are you nervous? Are you shaking? Bless your heart. Well, that was Jonah and Josiah's first time like really sleeping over somewhere far away. But they're coming home today. You excited? No, he just cares about Mama. Well, we're home. Yeah, Teddy's as bad as Mama. Biohazard in the Suburban. He threw up. Now you've been in the car, you've never thrown up. Good morning, Arun. Thank you for taking over the chores this morning. No problem. Oh, has Lily been out here? I didn't see— I haven't opened it. I told her to come out. Yeah. Oh, they're up. They were up when I left. Lily, will you go help her room, please? Gideon, will you go help her room? No. Hey, Gideon, after that snack, please go. What is going on? What do you mean? Are you feeling better?
I feel like I am feeling better.
That was some attack last night.
It was. It was. I do feel like I've been run over by a truck, but at least I'm not like—
You sound like that.
I don't have a fever. I don't have—
So what happened though? So you don't have any more pain?
I have pain, but that's normal after having mastitis to have like a bruised feeling.
So it must have worked just getting him to nurse like crazy. Yeah. Since we couldn't find our pump. I realized I haven't set pump. Why don't we get a pump? Tell the people Why a pump if you have mastitis?
Well, you need to empty your breast of the milk.
Yeah.
To clear out the infection, so— I hand expressed in the bathroom a little bit, but it just didn't do enough. And then he was of course sleeping like a champ.
Which is a good problem.
It is. I wish that I had a pump to get to continue to pump.
Yeah.
Because it would have, I feel like it would have gone a lot better, but—
Teddy! He puked all up in the car, so I gotta go clean it up. 2 or 3 times. Why? I don't know.
He got sick.
He does fine in the car till today. Till we've slept 3 hours. I know. With moanings in between. God, 3 hours.
I'm so sorry. Apparently I'm quite the, uh—
You're the vocal sick person.
I know, this is funny because I'm—
Can't you just be quiet? Does it help to moan?
No, I don't even know I'm doing it.
So what we did manage, it's all over the place. Cabbage. Cabbage. Cabbage on the breast brings— dries up the milk. You did lots of water. I did the phytolactin. Where is it? Oh, you put it over here.
It's next to my cup.
Homeopathic. No. It's okay.
And there's Happy Ducks over there.
Uh, Happy Ducks. What's that?
It's an herbal—
Oh, this. Duck. Uh, well, you did this. We did have these massagers. Yeah, that actually did And then you have an herbal Happy Ducks and the garlic and mucho water. Alimed every— garlic, Alimed every once—
2 hours.
Every 2 hours.
It was rough.
So between all that— oh, you even took a hot bath there somewhere and expressed it out as best as you could with baby in hand.
You don't ever want to do that again.
You're a hand milker.
It was a nightmare.
You're done hand milking, huh? So you're gonna get you a pump. We gotta get these things washed for her, get her started. I'm on a bit of a time crunch because there's puke drying in our car, and so the sooner I can get that up, the easier it's gonna be. Um, ask me how I know that about biohazard. Yeah, well, my wife gave birth in that car. He's okay, he's okay, baby. He's crying. Okay, we gave birth in the gas station. Get in, you got dressed. Thank you, my man. Come help me put this stuff in the back to Mom. Carry that for me. Thank you. Here you go. Do you think you got it from here? I gotta get that puke. Rubber gloves. He even puked on my phone. All right, let's get this cleaned up before it gets sticky. Bam! He washed that nice. He went from refusing to go to helping me clean out clean up throw up. We'll take it. Randolph's back working on the people barn. Good morning, Randolph. Good morning. What do we got here?
We got some of these fresh 2x6s.
Nice. What are they for?
That's gonna be the frame around the doors.
Nice. The problem is we had to use tarps to keep the light out of here. Now that worked, but we don't want to keep on using tarps. We want something permanent, something that looks as nice as this— this is, you know, it's a community center. It's a good thing. It's bringing people together. Let's let the appearance match the goodness. Meanwhile, Gideon is asleep. I've been doing some office work and getting the lunch ready. Mom's gonna enjoy her veggies. I'm gonna enjoy meatloaf with a pat of butter. That is a massive door. Randolph, that's only one side.
It's humongous.
Are you lost in thought?
Well, I have been, but I about got them gathered now.
You got it figured out?
Yeah, that'd be the back side of it.
Okay, nice.
We're gonna have a little X here on the—
oh, you've already made the X?
Yeah, it's the good side's under there.
Okay, they've got the door hung. Looks like he's recruited you, Arun. Yeah, somebody's got to help him lift that thing, huh? This is very heavy. How much is that door? He came by at the wrong time.
300 pounds.
300 pounds?
Yeah.
What's the problem, Randolph? Is it hanging right?
The rim's high and it's flying off the ground when he tries to push it.
Ah, he don't weigh enough. Okay. It looks like you just have to pull it up some. Yeah, because it's dragging. You need help, Arlene?
Yeah.
Okay, 1, 2, 3. Are we holding it?
See what that does now.
It's got it off the ground. We got it off the ground over here, Randolph. We don't have it the ground— off the ground over here.
Yeah, we've got a little bit more adjustment.
Okay, I guess you can— you could run this screw up and then tighten it up. So you loosen that one, huh? Do you guys see the problem? We lifted it up there, but it's dragging right there. You can't push it open and shut. Oh boy, something's dragging up. Oh, we're rubbing on this. It's not coming off enough. He's gonna You're gonna have to put it on a shim slider. What do you think, Randolph? Put a 1x?
Yeah, we'll put it one by behind that rail.
Unfortunately, you're gonna have to take the door down and the rail, put it back up. How's it going over here, Randolph?
It's a hard row here for a little bit.
I figured it would be. Probably a hard, slow road. Yeah, not as fun as actually putting the door together, huh?
No, not quite that fun.
You've got the bars off. Looks like you're about to be able to put the shim up. Yeah, we approved the vlog, did the work to get that up. Randolph has gone for the day, but look, Beck, it looks like it's hung. One, you got baby Henry. Well, yeah, one, try it. Oh, oh, she can do it! Mama can do it! Baby in one hand, pulling the door with the other. While Randolph was doing that, let me try to explain what I was doing in a somewhat interesting way. If I'm going to get Abundance Plus on your TV, my streaming platform, well, it's a hurry up and wait game. But one thing I had to do today was this: some really boring Apple developer account setup. Apple developer account. Apparently, if you want apps on an Apple device, you have to apply for a developer account from an Apple device. And that's what I did today. And yet incurred another expense towards this network. This one not too bad, $100 a year, but still. Mom's waiting on the boys outside. They'll be home any minute. I've got some lamb and potatoes cooking. I did do some exciting things towards Abundance Plus. I've talked to 2 different filmmakers on 2 different possibilities. So that, that, that, that's today. But I've got it out there to like 4. It's gonna take a lot of talking, a lot of thinking, I think, before we get another show, but I'm, I'm looking. So I'm working hard to get Abundance Plus, which will be high-quality homestead lifestyle inspirational shows on your phones and on your TVs. There's some really exciting stuff in the works, but like any good thing in life, it takes time. And so we're looking at like a 90-ish day turnaround. So I'm thinking it's safe to say our big launch of Abundance Plus would be August-ish, but that'll be here before we know it. Let's put this back here. This is just kind of a reminder, uh, keep working on it, do something every day to progress towards that goal. I think it's going to be a big hurry up and wait game. Apple now takes a few days to get back to me. Once we get that, we've got that, but we still got, um, we still got— what's the other one— Android, uh, and there's probably stuff we need to do with Roku and all this other stuff. It's 4:40. Totally forgot to put the calf up. That's usually Jonah's job. I thought, should I go do it or let him do it when he gets back? He'll be back any minute. I'll go do it. I do want you to see how well trained this calf is though. Jonah's been doing a very good job. Come on, that's it! What an easy way to to calf separate. The calf just came over. Now she won't nurse, and that milk will build up for us in the morning. Polly's doing good. She's permanently— she's weaned, and she's doing just fine. And they're not— why not? Moms are right there. It's just— you're still on grass. The sheep are chilling in the shade. It's not even that hot out here. That's proof. I mean, chickens are out wandering around. They always get in there if it's too hot. This is one of the greatest things about working from home. Work a bit inside, come out and do a little checkup on the farm, do a little afternoon chores, whatever, go back in for some more. This breaks up the monotony. Last night I was in a really bad mood, and then I remembered how to get— I had to go to the chickens, had to go shut them up, and I was even in a worse mood after. But once I got outside the fresh cool spring air, I came back energized, ready to go. Nacho, you're losing your coat nice. See, that's Escalito, guys. Super flighty. That's who we're thinking about replacing with the really calm lamb over there, so we can kind of have a pet for the length of his life, and he'll have a use on the farm. So a bit of pet and useful because he'll keep the ram company. That's the best. What you making?
Some salad dressing.
Just some olive oil, vinegar, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, and salt, I imagine. Is this your concoction so far?
Um, garlic, Dijon mustard, oregano, salt.
Nice. Look who's back! What's going on? Hey, welcome back! Are you guys being shy or are you just exhausted? Exhausted. You probably stayed up too late, got up too early. No, actually I slept in to 7:30. Okay, did you help them with their chores? Yeah. Okay, did you help clean, clean up after suppers? They won't let us. Oh my, they went soft on them. Back, watch this. Hey. I saved putting up the calf for you. Okay, just kidding. It's good to have everybody back. We just finished supper. We got our photos Heather ordered for decoration at the, at the old barn. What is it? What is it? Oh, oh, nice! Oh, look! It's the pigs. Is that Beefcake and Cheesecake? I think so. All right, another one. Oh, Bandy!
One more.
What's it gonna be? It's gonna be a cow. The almighty chicken!
