My heart is heavy this morning. Two friends have lost their parents. I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart, yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. A few days ago, I had this thought where I began to think about my dad, who has been passed for over a year now, and I thought, this is not so bad anymore. I've grieved it well, and time has healed wounds, but now that my brothers from another mother are going through the same thing. It's fresh. I remember it's a dark cloud, and my heart goes out to them, and my heart goes out to any of you who are experiencing loss right now. It's from the book The Greatest Salesman in the World. It's really about being the greatest person. It's like all about love. How will I speak? I want to encourage my friends and they will become brothers. Even though I've experienced it myself, I don't really know how to encourage you and my two friends, but all you guys, except for maybe what I said this morning. This is opening our soul, and everyone grieves in a different way. It's okay to cry. It's okay to not cry. It's okay to keep working. It's okay to stop working. It's okay to want to be be with friends and family. It's okay not to be. It's okay to, to binge television. It's okay to— however you need to grieve this, it's okay. I do think it's important that you grieve it. Maybe you talk about it, maybe you write about it, maybe you make movies about it, maybe you, uh, whatever it is. I guess that's my encouragement. Is it's okay to be sad. It enlarges our soul. Wait, am I seeing this right?
Was that you peeking in the window?
I'm like shocked. She is— you're coming out?
Yeah, well, the guests are coming.
Okay.
The people, they are bringing my furniture and—
okay.
And also gonna check out.
The furniture makers are coming.
The furniture makers.
All right.
So I thought I should be like responsible, be ready for them, and it's cold, so I have to like get all dressed.
Okay.
It took me a moment, so that's— I knew it would take me longer than like, um, a regular getting dressed.
So you're going on chores with us? I think all we have left is milking.
This is our secret Indian tunnel.
This is the Indian tunnel. So if you go from here, this is America.
Yeah, this is America.
Down there is India. Can I go from— this beats a plane trip. Look, you have a gap over that ravine. Yeah, I hope it doesn't start rolling when I cross it. Things like this always work better with a camera. Okay, do you think— is it stable? Oh, it's very stable. Here I come. No, I got it, I got it. Whoa. All right, here we go. Okay, wait, come on now. This is like That magic tunnel in the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. They went from one ocean to the next under the land. Now I just went from America to India.
Yeah.
Oh, it's beautiful over here.
Now you're Indian.
Now I'm an Indian.
And when you go back in, you're in America.
Okay. All right, that's cool. Let's go back to America and do our chores then. Oh, good to be back. American soil. Our guests are here. They're having a good time. Am I going to be able to pull them away to do chores? What's up, you guys ready? Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, let's do some chores. They're dropping the furniture off and figured, how you doing? Good, good. Why not, uh, get some fellowship, see the, uh, and see the chores. We're getting some real help with Nathan today. You've actually milked cows before? Yeah, you actually have a cow. We have a cow who's dry right now. Okay. Um, we had two in milk at once though for a while. Well, see, we're gonna go inside and have some warm broth, right? Get a break. Just kidding. Rebecca, there's your new intake.
I know, isn't it awesome? And I love it because the sides are open so that it doesn't— so when it's all junky, when the kids have all their junk in there, junkily, you can't see it.
Nice.
And then I got a shoe bench. A kid's shoe bench to go—
and it matches—
to match that one over there. And then we have a coffee table coming too.
So we're real adults now.
We're real adults now.
Matching furniture. What was here was a black— What was wrong with the black one, Rebecca?
Well, it was just off.
It didn't match.
It didn't match and it was old and I just wanted something— I wanted to refresh everything.
Thank you. Uh-oh, here's the third piece.
Here's the third piece.
There it is. I love it. What? We're gonna have a coffee table?
I know, we're like real adults now.
It's like crazy. Wow.
Penny's all like, what?
We're gonna have to get a coffee table book now. I know.
Well, I'm gonna get some decorations for it. I just don't know what yet. Yeah, maybe like a—
How cool.
A few magazines. Yeah, a few magazines. Look at her. She's like, I got a few magazines.
Oh, the Craftsman is gone.
Yes.
But his relic lives on.
It does.
And that looks— I'm so excited. And your feet are already resting on it. I like this because we can, when we brush the kids' teeth, we can set that there. If we watch a show, we can put a snack there. I know, I love it. It's so pretty. And this is like grandkid quality.
I know, because I did say something like it's gonna get scratched up, I'm sure. And then he's like, and that's the beauty of it, we can just sand it down and add character.
There's something that this is just not cool to pass on down to the grandkids.
Don't try to scratch it.
Don't purposely add character. That family has an amazing story. Rebecca's been following for a while on Instagram. We'll link that down in the description. Coming from California, moving to Tennessee, just getting his business started, working from home, making this beautiful furniture.
Yes, so he makes, he makes a lot of furniture. Actually, if you go on his Instagram, which is Nathan Von Furniture on Instagram, or he has a, um, a website too, but I don't know the name of that website. Well, anyways, he has lots of other things. He doesn't just make benches and coffee tables, but he makes dining tables.
He makes like because she's already talking to him about—
he does— he does lots of things.
What else were you thinking?
The dining table, a dining room table. And I might have him make me a little table for— because I'm getting a recliner for when the baby comes, and I might have him make me a little table to go next to that.
They have a— they have more children than that, a bunch of young children. Very compelling story.
Yeah.
What would you say is most compelling about their story?
Well, I think just the whole like leaving California, leaving like everything that they knew and moving to the East Coast. Yeah, like, okay, that, that's what caught my attention.
That's both.
That's what, that's what made me start following them on Instagram because I was like, they're homesteading. Like, that's really— it's, it's a hard thing to do. Like, you don't just pick up your roots and leave.
Tell you guys this, we are full-on customers, paid 100% for this.
Yes.
Uh, this is not an ad, but I did say to him, hey, you know what, we could, um in full transparency, but some of you people are probably going to want this furniture. He does ship. He's getting this business started. And I said, you know, I'll share your Instagram. And hey, if, if somebody mentions that you saw it on our show, we do get a commission. So we thank you for that if you're gonna support us in that way. But, um, it's good stuff. I'm ready to vouch for it. And it's very well made, and it's, and it's, um I wish, I wish the folks could feel this. It's heavy.
It's like super— I could— I got to choose what I wanted.
Yeah.
And he just basically— I gave him the dimensions I wanted, what I wanted, and chose the wood that I wanted, the finish that I wanted. So like, it's completely custom.
Yeah. Tell them Uncle Justin sent you.
Or Aunt Rebecca.
You know, we haven't given you an update on the bathroom for a while. Oh my goodness.
Can we walk on it though? I don't know if you can walk on it.
Oh, oh shoot. What is that?
It's, um— it's like an underlayment that you put under the tile to— make it like, it's more waterproof.
It's coming together very nice. It is.
Like, you can see that it's been grouted. The tiles have been grouted on the wall. He's made himself at home. He's hanging his jacket in our hallway.
He might as well become part of the family.
That's right.
All right, Randolph's back up. You enjoying that coffee, Randolph? Best coffee I ever drunk. Okay, good. We keep you happy because you're doing such a good job. Oh, we can walk on it? Yes. Yeah. All right, just don't walk on the joints, maybe. So we—
you're walking.
Oh, okay.
You keep walking on the joints.
Oh, okay. Well, I'm so excited about this I know, good job.
It looks good. It looks so good.
The gray wall looks good, Rebecca.
I know, man.
Good job. So what's next, Randolph? Well, we're gonna get some tiles up here and start on them things today. Okay, tiling on the floor. Okay, okay, nice. Whoa, that's gonna be a game changer.
That's gonna look— it's gonna make it look so different in here.
Rebecca, we're going on an outing. I'm even chewing gum for the first time in years because my breath was that bad. I wish I could say we're going on a date. I know, right? I can say though, I'm going to get an ozone treatment. Yeah, and it's kind of like a date, you know, to address my Lyme disease. Never. How long have I had Lyme? I have been fighting this 8 years, 2012, so 9 years. Never in all my 9 years fighting this have I ever had a— and I just got one treatment— make me feel different. I mean, this much difference. The energy level, holy moly, that I got.
Yeah, I know.
That day I took it, woke up at 2:45 the next day, wide awake. Worked till 10. Next day was our 12-hour film shoot, which was yesterday for our new show coming out. And then this morning, woke up wide awake at 5 o'clock, got up, got to work. Never in my life I've gotten up that early but never was super energetic, ready to go. They got my blood out up into that bag. They put the oxygen and the ozone in there.
Yeah.
Which is just an oxygenated— just oxygenates my blood.
Mm-hmm.
It's gone through here through UV light. Comes back in me. Gets me ready to go to 4:30. If that keeps up, I'm gonna become earlier, but— Well, I'm working— I like the energy.
We're gonna do some liver support too.
We are done. You know, we just found out that one reason I might have stayed up till 2:45 is because I had fasted that day. And it just so happens that I fasted this morning. Didn't need to. I've been trying one meal a day type things.
Yeah.
Uh, also for my health, just for my body to be able to restore and just eat one huge meal in the day. Well, I really liked it, but Not on insulin. They have caused me to wake up.
Well, so— one of the thoughts, the nurse had the idea that you need some liver support. You didn't have enough— what did she use the word? I'm not sure what word it was. You didn't just, you hadn't eaten enough food for your liver to be able to process everything out.
Yeah.
And then the doctor also gave us a supplement that you can try to see if that helps, so— You're just gonna eat a lot of food from now until we go to bed.
Okay, cool.
To make sure you get enough food in you so that your liver can properly work.
So that's the plan, folks. I think it's a good one. I'm very hopeful. It's been a while since I was hopeful about—
A treatment.
Any of the treatments. So—
I feel really hopeful too. We'll see. I mean, we're—
Maybe—
You're doing several of these treatments for—
We'll see if it wasn't like a fluke thing. Like, maybe I was excited about the the show that we're working on.
I feel like this was, it was definitely a change in you. Having adrenaline is one thing, but like, you legit were fine. Like, I even said to you, I think you should take a nap, and you're like, I don't think I could sleep this.
No, I couldn't.
If I wanted to.
I wasn't tired. So here's to crossing our fingers and hoping for the best. We're back home. You gonna get a reaction?
You can't go in there. Yes! Oh my goodness! It looks so good! I'm so excited!
Give us a matching facial expression.
It looks so good! I'm really excited about this!
