Flash it, see if it'll come on.
Now they're all not working.
We just blow them all?
Yeah.
Okay, there it is, but it did not come on. Light, light, no light. That might be a speed bump to our project today. You see this pile of wood? We need to turn that into a hay feeder bunk. We got our shop cleaned up yesterday. We're ready to do it. That's going to be our hay feeders inside our pole barn for deep bedding our cows and sheep. Yesterday we went and looked at cattle panels to look at our various containment configurations. We want to get our animals in the shelter, give us a winter break as soon as possible, but we still got to get hay here, we still got to get wood chips on it, we still got to make the hay racks, we still got to do configurations. First we got to do all the chores.
Set him down.
Make a line.
Oh my God, he's hypnotized!
All it takes is a line.
Yeah, yeah.
Can I pet him?
Wow, he's checking me out.
Are you Hypnotized. How do you unbrake him? Oh, there it is. We have our alfalfa that was accidentally mixed with some grain. Do they actually like it, the chickens? Because what else are we gonna do with it? Okay, let's see. They're not too crazy about it. Did they actually eat the alfalfa? It'd be good greens for them. We're done milking. The kids say they found a spring in the woods they want to show me. Oh wow, look, somebody's already—
Arthur put it here.
Oh, how do you know? Because, um, Grace said Oh, it's an old trampoline. Yeah, it's an old trampoline, uh, post. It is a good thing to have springs on your property, and that is one of very many. This is where we need backup water.
You're pretty fast.
Well, it's not really that light in here yet. We got about an hour and a half till we need to quit to make brunch and edit. You think we can maybe just knock out the framing? Whoops, I remember all the hardware is upstairs. Let's grab a wheelbarrow right here and let's go. You want to ride, Mr. Brown? Are you really getting on?
Yeah. Oh wow, okay.
There's the hardware. We might build it out here because there's better light, but we're gonna need to make the cuts. Inside. We're through the 2x4s. This cut list is amazing, minimizing waste, super simple, easy to follow. Now we're going to do the 1x and then the 2x. Ah, I cannot believe I just did that. I cut the 2x6s too short. I was, I was looking at the 1x6 measurements. We ended up having enough 1x6 to spite, so I must have ordered too many. But I cut my 2x instead of my 1x, and we need long 2x6s, so here they are. Well, the kids have some stuff to make forts with. We don't have any more though. So long story short, we're not getting that done today. I might be able to order it, maybe have Randolph pick them up in the morning before he comes. But it's snowing, so that, that cheers me up a little bit. And it's— and it waited till after chores, which makes me more happy. Oh, Randall's here. Let's just hope he's having better luck than I am this morning. What are you working on, babe?
Poultry order. I have to go to our channel and figure out when we butchered.
Yeah, you know, we told Big Daddy we were ordering yesterday and he was like, I thought you didn't grow them in the winter. Yeah, no, you've got to get on the list though.
I know, I said if we've got— especially nowadays, if we want to grow them throughout the summer, we've got to order them now.
Yeah, even though it's snowing outside.
I know, isn't that exciting?
It's January. I love it.
I opened the door and it was so cold because Grandma, Grandma brought our laundry back.
I did. It's gonna go to her.
But she brought the laundry back and I was like, it is so cold, and then I thought, how is it gonna rain?
Grandma's doing our laundry because our laundry is nowhere to be in sight with this bathroom remodel. Oh, Randolph, hello there! Hopefully you're having a better day than me. I cut a bunch of wrong boards. Uh-oh.
Well, it's another Monday, ain't it?
Yep. I'm gonna have you— I'm gonna have to— I'm gonna have to have you go by the lumber store in the morning if that works for you.
Yeah. Oh yeah, I can always go by there.
All right, what you got in here?
Well, I'm gonna try to get this pocket door framed in here.
Nice.
And over around the other side of the bathtub, get all the framing, and then we might try to run some wires differently.
