But the big news is we're gonna be looking at some— Look what happened, Lily! Beautiful frosty morning. Why'd you put the feed so close?
So they wouldn't freeze on the ground. Okay, let them out.
Oh, wait, wait, we need a bucket. We need a bucket. Wow, are there brains? Put them in here. That's just the right size for you, Lily. You can stand up in there, huh? Be very careful.
Can I put them in your apron?
No, let's come over here. Let's get a basket for them. Come here, right here. Hey, do you guys, uh, is this typically what we get, Lily? 6 eggs? Here, this will do. Put it in there.
I got one egg. I don't know, you guys are gonna walk on it and I'm—
Okay, where are you going? Okay, take them gently up there to the kitchen, please. Oh good, you did it, buddy!
Yeah.
Wait, where are y'all going? Wait, let's finish our chores.
And there's no clouds to stop it.
Do you want to go? Okay, can you guys take the vlogger?
Sure.
Okay. All right, that's good, Lily. Let's add some apples. You gonna go with me today? Okay, good. All right, Lily, you're my helper today. Let's bring the bucket. Miss Brown, you coming too with your spaceship and apple? Okay, let's go. Hey guys, we forgot to put up our lanes. The boys are handy for this job. Do wonder how they're doing.
Here we are in the frost and we're gonna go sledding down the dam.
Okay, let's go. Hey, what happened? You're cold? Okay, all right, let's go. Just be able to get her collar. This is working out nice because I have to get down. Don't get hit. Okay, Lily, grab here. Follow me, guys. Okay, grab the bucket, Lily. Oh, my staff! Give me my staff, Lily. Problem is I gotta get her over this fence. What's stud muffin right there?
Come here, Violet.
Come on, hold your bucket there real quick, Lily.
Come here, come here, come here, Violet.
Helps to have a very tame cow. You're all right, you're all right. Just walk with it.
I can't. Okay, she's too heavy.
Okay, come on, Miss Violet. Let's see if she'll get in there without Josiah and Jonah. I'm curious to see if she'll get in there without Jonah and Josiah. Still no baby from Violet. When you gonna have this baby, honey? Here she comes, look, all by herself. Nope. All right, all right, we'll get you. Hey Lily, after she gets done with that, will you get her some hay?
Yeah.
Okay, I'm gonna take Mr. Brown in. Okay. You cold, Lily?
All right, come here, come here.
Let's warm up, let's warm up. You want in on this? Hey Violet, when you gonna have this baby? Oh, I like your snow hairdo there. Lily, you going inside?
Yeah.
Okay, wrong way, Violet, and I'm afraid you're gonna go out that door. You big pet. Look, she's kind of waddling like a, like a big pregnant mama. You got a waddle? You got a waddle? All right, work with me, okay, Violet? You're gonna work with me? Let me hold you, okay?
Let me get you. You're under it.
You're under it.
All right.
Oh, we did it, Violet! I remember it was rough with Willow's first try on the Brazilian style gate. I'll get you through. I didn't give them quite enough yesterday. I had to mow it down too, too low. You want to mow off the top Third. Just a second, guys. You guys gonna eat it with a frost— frosting on top? Wait, hold on, Violet. All right, just go on over it then. You go over it, stud muffin. Good job, buddy. I don't think they like the frosting on top, but they're doing it. It's time to film the interviews for the documentary. Problem is, it's cold. We got the heater going. It really did not warm up that great in here. I've had the heater going for a while. We're gonna struggle. Maybe we can do like one sheet and then take a heat break because can't have the heater on while we're talking. Okay, let's see if it's gonna work. Is the mic gonna work? Is it gonna sound good? All right there. Is it out of frame? Am I level? All right, I think we're ready. Going to see if Beauty wants to do this in the, in the cold. It's ready for us. It is cold though. Is it? I'm worried about you. I mean, you can feel it. Good lighting right now though, but I guess it'll probably be all these. All right, cuz it's no direct light.
Is that all you were wearing?
Yeah.
And you were cold?
Not really, I was comfortable, but I was moving around.
But we have to turn the space heater off.
Yeah, you have to turn it off, the sound, and we're inside the bus. Yeah, so bring a sweater and then we'll just take breaks. Like, we'll answer a few questions and if you can't do it, we can't do it. We'll do it a little later.
Okay.
All right, Beck, you about ready to do this? We got the heat on, we sounding good. Look up, how's that? May I turn the heater off?
Now it's time to depart our home for the— the long stretch.
Say now it was time.
Now it was time to depart our— Now it was time to depart.
I say leave. I don't think you say depart. Depart at an airport.
Now it was—
Hold on. Yeah.
Now it was time to leave and we wouldn't be returning here until we were done with the entire trip.
Perfect.
And it was there that Justin realized that it was all about contentment and that Randi could be content at -60.
Oh, stop it.
Just kidding.
Purchasing a 1988 school bus to convert was a risk.
You take a break?
Yeah, no, let's keep going.
Oh, it's in the frame.
Okay, let's talk about the feeling Let's you and I talk about the feeling of heading east. Now that we're in Southern California, we're gonna head east.
Okay.
Dang.
Now, after Hawaii, it just—
No, because I think we might have done—
Okay, we might have done Primal Patches.
Okay. Just not too specific.
Now we start heading east, which feels like we're going home.
That probably goes before this, but you can talk about— now it's time to head into my birth story. You could be excited or something, you know.
Texas!
Now it's time to go to Texas, my birth state.
Now it's time to go to Texas, my birth state.
That's more you, that's more you. So many yawns. I know. Finally, we crossed into the final state. I think there's not been anybody so excited as us to go into Alabama.
Yeah.
Hey, how'd you do?
I think I did good.
You think you're about freezing?
I know, it's so cold in here.
Hey, it took what, less than an hour? Yeah, it was fast. Okay, you think it's a good story?
I do, I do.
She's hurrying to get in the house. She can't get in there fast enough. She's got her big coat on now. Okay, kiddos.
This one or this one?
Uh, probably that one, I guess.
This one?
Yeah. Yeah, you guys ready? You ready to do this? The buddy system? Y'all sit together. I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you where to be, okay? Okay, looking good right there. Let's get a little closer. Can you guys sit closer to each other? I like that. We can kind of see the, uh, we can see the Great American Farm Tour pillow behind you guys, but we also want to capture Gideon's shirt. Hey, keep your dress down, Lily. Lily, tell me all about Full Circle Farm. Tell me what happened at Full Circle Farm.
When we got there, we started to meet all the people.
Alright, y'all can come back. Just taking a break. Just taking a break. Oh, they want to go see their spots. How do you think you guys did?
Good.
I think you did good. Take a stool with you, Lily. I can't believe it. Done with the interviews. It's 1 o'clock. I can even get started editing on some of this. All in all, how do you guys think the filming went today? Good. Everybody says good. Everybody says good.
Good.
Good. Good. It went great except there were a few microphone glitches and we had to go back out, but we only had to do 3 more shots. It's so crazy to think this is almost done. How many hours have we put in this? Hundreds of hours. But the big news is we're going to be looking at some lambs tomorrow. Dan Omen, you're going to be very happy. Lambs are going to be on the homestead soon. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we're getting them to mow our grass. Why use machines when we can use lambs? Because at the end of the season, machines don't give you manure on the soil, and machines don't give you meat in your freezer.
Delicious meat that you can't find anywhere else.
It might be a little more work, but we're gonna get a lot of benefit from it. Oh yeah, huge. And it's hard to find grass-fed lamb, 100% grass-fed lamb. Hard. Yeah. You can get grass-fed beef all day long.
You can get grass-fed lamb at one place, but they only sell it, and they only sell it by the half a lamb, which isn't really a big problem because we eat a lot, but I would just rather it be a lot less expensive than that.
So tomorrow, you ready to see some lambs? Baby lambs. Now we can't pick them up yet, but they will be ready for us to pick out.
How many are we gonna pick out?
I'm gonna say Dan Oman said 1 acre, 5 sheets. That's probably what we got to about most, so 4 or 5. Wow, sound good to you?
Okay.

If I had to start my Homestead all over again, it could only pick one animal…
