Early morning start. Lily has a horse show today. Were you able to sleep with all your excitement?
Yeah, until I woke up till like 2:30 and then I fell back asleep. And then as soon as my alarm went off in the morning, I jumped up. I woke up and I was like, like normally when I hear my alarm I just roll over, but this day I jumped up and I got on some clothes and I ran outside.
It's your first show with Blaze.
Mm-hmm.
Let me say this. Blaze is gonna do the best he can. He's got a lot of heart.
And that might end up with me falling off, but I don't care.
We'll hope not. You guys are just gonna have fun, right?
Yep.
You're gonna do the best you can. Blaze is gonna do the best he can. Of course, Dad on standby.
Grab your hat. Grab your hat quickly.
You want me to wear that?
Yeah, go get your hat quickly.
Is Austin here? I'm here. I told Austin one day, you better not be late. He was supposed to film Lily. He said, I'm more afraid her than I am you.
I'm nervous because I'm sitting still, and when I sit still, I get nervous.
Has Blaze ever been to a show?
Not with me, and I don't think ever.
This is his first. He's got good heart though, right? I heard Blaze, that she gave you a bath and you proceeded to wallow. That's why he's— is this dust? Yep. Naughty boy. Did you go wallow after she gave you a bath? Hmm? Country bumpkin doesn't get out much. Nothing a little electrical tape won't help. Are you waiting your turn? Yeah. How's Buddy's been doing?
Really good.
Yeah? Why are you surprised?
Because he's normally over there.
He seems to be getting a little more comfortable. Blaze was having a little hard time with these jumps.
I hope Mom remembered to bring chairs.
Hey, we forgot chairs. Oh, okay, so we have nowhere to sit. Okay, our fan club's here.
Say that. I have to— I can't.
Oh, okay, that's fine. You won't need it while you're riding. Oh, they'll think you're getting signal from Miss Lisa. Where'd we How'd you find this blanket?
Henry brought it.
Thank you, Henry.
I know, I'm so glad that you insisted on it.
I was probably insisting, you were probably so annoyed.
No, I wasn't, because he was cold. I made a mistake. I should have just picked him up out of bed and put him in the car with his pajamas on, but silly me wasn't thinking. So I said, let's change your clothes, and then he was like, I'm cold. So we put the blanket on top of him, and then I wrapped him in the blanket.
There are 8 people in Lily's class. 6 ribbons, so I think she's got a pretty good chance. But that'd be really bad if she did not get a ribbon. Even Henry cheering for you. Oh, they're actually in competition right now. Oh boy, he's putting his head— oh, is he?
Oh boy, he's gonna do the best he can.
He's trying, he's trying. You're getting judged right now.
6th goes to entry number 45. She always wanted a 6th place.
She hadn't got a 6th place ribbon.
She hadn't gotten a 6th place ribbon, so now she'll have all the ribbons.
I've never been so happy for a 6th place. I know. Who did worse than Blaz?
Well, he didn't do so bad.
Really? His head was all up over the place.
Well, I think it's also though about— what's Lily doing?
Is it about the rider too?
Does she do something else now?
I guess it's not all about the horse. Good job, Lily! They're about to get judged. We can stand easy because there's only 6 people in the class. Her and her 2 friends.
I have the results for your walk-trot equitation class. 5th to entry number 45, Lily Rhodes.
3rd event, another 6-person event, so Guaranteed a ribbon, but we don't want 6th.
4th to number 40, Prince, ridden by Abigail Lieben. 5th to entry number 45, Blaze, ridden by Lily Rose.
So far so good. No last place. Here she comes. Champion.
I need my halter. I need Blaze's halter.
Lily's got her horse dad giving some hot water. Of course I said, Lily, do you need to go get Blaze some water during this break? To which she promptly replied, yes. Go get him some water. There's a white bucket. Get the water out of the blue barrel and pour it into the pink bucket. And horse dad just said, yes ma'am. Thirsty?
He's not thirsty.
Waiting on her next class. It's like 6 events before she goes again. You want to ride? You want to move? Okay, let's move. We just got one more. They each compete by themselves. Oh, he's got to do it. Yes, he did it! Come on, Blaze, come on, get through it.
Yes!
All right, come on, Blaze. Okay, you did it. Hey, what's going on? What do you mean? Well, how come they aren't saying the winners?
Well, because they—
because more people have to be in the class.
Look at this big horse. Pull over so this can get by. It's gigantic. So walk, trot, cross rails. She was just judged on walking, now she's being judged on trotting. Where's your horse mom hat?
I don't have one. My birthday will be here in May. I'm sure she's gonna get me one.
Oh cool, change— gets to change directions in front of us. All right, doing good. Here come the results.
Go to entry number 4, Pandora's Box, written by Bilal Pasqualino.
Second place, 45. Come on, come on.
And 6 to entry number 5, written by Emily Dennis.
She finally— she She experienced a loss. I think that's her first time ever not getting a ribbon. Okay, how do you feel?
I feel good.
What happened in the last event?
I don't know, those other ones were better than me.
Oh, are you happy with Blaze?
Yeah.
Miss Lisa, your trainer, said— I said, how'd he do? And she said, 100% better than I thought he would. Must be he's got a really good rider to do so good with such a difficult horse.
