King Henry. That doesn't look like a face of somebody who found shoes. Either we're extra or we really know how to camp. 20 minutes to go. I think we actually might make this. Hey, we must be doing all right.
Why?
You're sitting down. I'm eating. We must have a minute. We have a bigger one, just I'm afraid that's not gonna fit on it. Does it fit?
Yeah.
Is it turning the whole ball?
No. Did you bring chargers for our phones? So we have this one right here. We have one.
We're gonna need to get a power strip too, I think. Hey, he's got his rubber boots. Never found his king. Well, it's 8:30. Time to go. We got one more thing. Ooh, a double, double box. 8:36. We made it. It's exactly 9 o'clock.
Bye, Hannah!
Did some groceries. We might as well be camping like this. How about a power strip? Campsite. You want to play in that creek?
It's not hard.
It's very easy. Oh, we got him something to play with. You just fit right in, don't you? Don't you yet, latchetop? Hey, we did it y'all's way and it wasn't quite— I said put the stakes in. I said let's put the stakes in.
I'm gonna get the directions off.
There you go, it's in the bag. When all else fails, look at the directions. Thank God for directions.
Stake tent. We told you, start at corners, use all stake loops.
Boys, you are 100% right. Need help? Yeah, that was the key, staking it down first. We didn't bring a broom. We're not camping without a broom. That's too bad. They didn't have a dust broom for sale?
No, I'll have to buy one when we go into town, but she let me borrow this.
You put it on? Okay. Cleans up nice. First meal at the campsite. He's destroying our campsite chairs. He thinks he's being important.
Because it's hot as heck out there. We need to have the seating area here, this picnic table. We need to move all this undercover.
Where do you want the other tent?
And just put the other 12 by 12 going that way.
Okay, so right here? And we've got outlets and we've got running water. Our 12 by 12. And we got an air mattress. No shame.
No shame.
Are we glamping or camping? It's not quite glamping, is it?
It's not quite glamping, but but it's not camping.
Pretty close. And the first thing the attendant told us was the Wi-Fi. Two 10x10 tents coming out under the 10x10. Got some friends, mentors coming tonight. They're going to pull up. It's all going to just be glamping. How you like it?
What, the campsite?
The site?
Wonderful.
We've nailed it. We've set up. Now we got Burn It Up cooking show, leftover smoked chicken. We got a washing hand station. You're already going to go tubing.
Yep.
We just got here.
Yeah.
I don't care.
All right, good sport. You don't want to be left out. It's okay, it's gonna be okay.
The cool thing about our campsite is the tubing river goes right by it. Henry, we gotta look out for the brothers. We can chill out right here. And watch for them.
Good to see you.
Yeah, you too. Look at this ride. Look at Josie helping. Go 1 to 10 fun on that river.
Uh, 7.
Go 1 to 10.
You know what's fun?
He had more fun than you. Really? You are so useful on the campsite, always busy. So proud of you, Rebecca and Donna. Hobo Pocket. Without the pocket hash brown from the farm and a beef zucchini and carrot.
We'll just call it hobo food.
Hobo food. And then cheese. How is it? I think— I'm wondering, why do we gotta wait till we go camping to have this meal?
I know, it's delicious. I might do this again.
How'd you sleep last night? Good. How'd you sleep last night?
Good.
How'd you sleep last night?
Good.
Give me some meat back. How'd you sleep last night? Good.
It was cold though. Okay, so the weather app said coming here it was gonna be like really hot, 90 degrees, and it was gonna be not cooling off at night. 70 at night was gonna be the coldest that we were gonna get, so we kind of didn't pack.
You had your fan running, prepared.
I did. I brought a fan because I was like, it's gonna be hot, we're gonna be burning up in that tent.
We should turn that fan off when you came to bed, didn't you?
Was the fan on?
Yeah, I went to sleep with it on. Maybe the battery died.
It must have died.
So Donna, what's your opinion? Are we camping or are we glamping?
Well, I've never had a little pavilion over my tent, so I feel like I'm glamping.
The pavilion makes it—
I really love your stove. I know that's glamping.
I think you've gone glamping when you have a power box, but you don't want to admit it.
It's not glamping though, because glamping is like—
you gotta have a platform. Form of—
Yeah, like glamping is like where I have like a toilet semi— like the toilet's kind of far away. I have camped in Kenya.
Yeah.
And beautiful tent camping.
It's amazing. Nobody around.
The bathroom is in there in the tent with you. You have a bathroom and shower. You've gone glamping in Africa. Oh, she's gone glamping in Africa.
And you've also gone real camping.
She's like really camped with the crocodiles and lions and the elephants and the hippos. We are about to go tubing.
Do you think we have enough tubes on the roof? You think we can make it? We're not tying it down. The park is right there. I think we'll drive really slow. Oh wow, that tube's right in the window. Make sure that no tubes fall. We didn't even make it out of the parking lot. Tubes fell off. There we go. That worked.
Yes, I put the life vest on.
Watch.
Should we pull over?
Sure, I can hold one too if you hand it to me. You got a tube, Steve? Yeah, I got one. We made it. No more tube drama.
Lily got out.
Oh, Gideon got out. I go front ways. Oh, Becky.
It's raining so hard. I'm coming.
We're having to get everything out of here. The 12x12 is leaking. I guess it's cheap. I feel like I feel it every once in a while in the middle. Coming from—
you can see right there, it's— I think they are just cheap.
And we have it right on the edge and we didn't put it far enough and water's running right down through here. It's too much pressure. We just moved the 10x10 over and so we've stopped this waterfall. Good work, guys, and everybody stayed calm. Got the electrical under a service tray. Sounds like it's slowed down a lot though. He has no clue. No worries. We got all the four. Oh, let's untie this so that we can move this.
I have an idea.
We have to move it out. Well, because we'd have to move— well, we could just patching it temporary for a second here. They can, they can rig anything. They're little MacGyvers. Is it ready to move back? The water just got crazy. I don't think they can tube in that. They wouldn't be able to get out. The water has to We're gonna come off the mountain now.
Let it calm down a little bit.
Yeah, it'll calm down. All good things must come to an end. We're packing it up. Look at this. We literally just stepped into the car and it just started raining.
Originally it had said 9 AM, so I was thinking, whoo, we gotta get up and get it all over. But then when I woke up this morning, it said 11 AM, and I was like, oh good, that's nice, so we can kind of have a leisurely morning.
Before you leave, rate the camping trip on a 1 to 10.
9.
What was last year's camping experience? 8. Oh, we're getting better, we're getting better. Maybe next year at 10. What do we got to do to make it a 10?
There'd be a swimming hole.
A swimming hole near the campsite? Yeah, that would beat tubing right next to the campsite. You guys got to tube and come out at the campsite.
Tubing and swimming hole.
Yeah, may or may not exist. 9 may be as about as good as we're gonna get. Literally, in 20 years when you take your kids camping and you remember this, what are you gonna remember? Um, probably going tubing. Ah, and welcome back, right? You got you some sweet corn.
I got— I only picked one because I want the boys to see. I tried to— I tried to stop the pain.
That'll help with the vacation letdown. Look at this. Let's get the top.
Always look at how beautiful— look how beautiful that is.
Nice.
