Rhodes Family Vacation Special 2025

The video is a first‑person family vlog documenting the Rhodes family’s Florida vacation in early 2025. The narrator walks viewers through a series of activities: a challenging rope‑course at Triumph with the kids (Gideon, Lily, Henry, Jonah/Jonas), a beach day where the children experience sand, water, and sand‑castle building, a thrill‑filled visit to Busch Gardens roller coasters, and a health‑focused dining approach that emphasizes organic, tallow‑cooked meals. The trip concludes with a fishing outing on the ocean where the family struggles to catch fish, ends up catching birds, and shares humorous banter about the experience. Throughout, the narrator reflects on family dynamics, parenting moments, the importance of staying active and healthy, and ties the vacation’s relaxation to preparing for a productive 2025 homesteading year. The tone is informal, enthusiastic, and peppered with jokes and candid observations.

It's Wednesday. We're in the middle of vacation in Florida. Still gotta train. Grounding. I'm getting the morning sun in my eyes. I'm still a little sore from our time at Triumph with our friends Darcy and Joe. Check it out. Next up, Triumph rope sports. You're tall enough this year. I know. You scared? No. Yeah, you're not scared of nothing. Last year I remember this being fun and easy. The first— is it 4 courses? There's 5 courses, and the 5th course is 50 feet up in the air. Way more of an arm workout, and you're tired by then. I trained last year the morning before coming here. That was a mistake. I didn't today, so I'm already learning from my mistakes. First one, see, not a big deal. Make this a little harder by not holding on to the, uh, the rope. Let's see it, Gideon! Woo! You ain't scared. Put your hands off of it. Take your hands off of it. I had to grab it. What are you doing on this? Yeah, there's like so many slow people ahead of us. Oh really? Because you weren't able to do this 2 years ago, but you're just so fine. You're just— Okay, longest zipline yet. Climb up this pole. What, 15 feet? 12 feet? 15? 25 feet. 25, okay. All right, well, at least I wasn't. Do you enjoy it? Last year you didn't get to go, so this year she was really excited to do it. So Gideon just came down and everybody else is on Course 5. Extreme! Lily's already on the extreme. Okay, let's see how high we are. Yeah, okay, I think I know the trick. Yeah, grab the rope. God, grab the rope and pull down as you grab it. Stop, stops you from swinging. All right. Your left hand, could you grab that log? Mhm. Yep. Foot in there. Hug the log like this. Yeah, there you go. Now reach the other log. Yeah, where were you last time? Go! I just got to jump off. What? How was it? I like that virtual reality game. You were right there. Trust Yeah, we're having a great time relaxing, going out to eat. We fashion our vacation to places where we can get organic, healthy, cooked in tallow type of places. Of course, we had to take the kids to the beach. Henry, the most excited. The most into it. I believe it is Henry's very first time and he is very excited. Where are we? At the beach! Whoa, do you like the beach? Yeah. Is this your first time at the beach? Yeah. What do you do at the beach? Let's play in the water. All right, let's see you play in it. Lily, it's your first time to the beach? No. You've been before? How many times? Um, probably like 6. You like the beach? Yeah, I like a pool better. What do you like to do at the beach? Mom and I, Jordan and Josiah just went on a walk. They're kind of too cool for the beach, kind of bored, but looks like they're getting into the sand. Big Daddy's here with us. First time to the beach without Grandma. It's weird. Oh, I see you, I see you cool guys getting into it. You went in the water? He fell in. Oh, you fell in the water. You're soaked. What are y'all building? A sand castle. A sand castle. What is it? Watch out, we're almost done. What is it? The sand castle. Now you know what to do next time we come, right? Yeah. Beautiful sunset. We're not catching— we got one cracking. It's starting to get cold. You would like to get out? What happened to the frolicking in the pool? Enjoying the hot tub? Time out. I forgot to say, before Triumph and Darcy's, we, uh, Some other sets of friends took us to Busch Gardens. Yeah, the roller coasters. Are you going to ride it? Yeah. Okay, then should I do it with you? Yeah, sure. Whoa, wasn't expecting that. You screaming for that one? Okay, if this were to release me, I would die. Think about— oh goodness, oh goodness, oh goodness. We have hit the pit of despair. The Rhodes kids are eating cereal. This never happens. Now you're putting raw milk in it. Is that a contradiction? Like super health, super food into the junkiest of junk food? It's just the healthiest you can get. To close out the trip, I took the boys on a fishing trip. You been out fishing before? Yeah. On the ocean? Twice. What's your goal today? Catch a really big fish. Well, you got no competition. What's your goal today? Catch a fish. It's 55 degrees in Florida, so ain't nobody else out here right now. Who's going to be the first to get one? Well, Jonas tangled his line, so not Jonah. What about your big fish, buddy? Oh, did you lose it, Gideon? Yeah. Oh, well, bring it in. You're gonna have— you're gonna have lost your bait. You think you got it next time? I didn't even know I had a fish. What do you think you can catch next time? You caught a rock, buddy. Nothing in this spot, huh? Yeah. What happened? Couldn't catch one here. Moving on. We're gonna enjoy this warm weather one last last day. It's 50-something degrees today. Have you already gotten Floridianized? I guess. This is cold to you? It's supposed to be high today at 12 at home. Flip that down or not? Now do it. There you go. Now we're fishing on the other side of this, these rocks. No luck yet unless we want to catch a bird. Plenty of those. Now you guys have to catch a jack if you want to go catch a shark. Is it heavy, Jesse? Oh, what is that? You guys caught each other? No, I think— oh, oh no, you lost it. Yeah, oh, you caught another bird. Biggest obstacle over here is keeping the birds off of it. They'll remember that for the rest of their lives. Actually, if we weren't here, like, these birds survive off of boats. Yeah, they'd go extinct. They don't know how to hunt anymore. You got that bird? Yeah. Take it home and put it with your chicken. There you go, you caught something. Congratulations, you caught a bird. Mean, huh? All right, catch a fish this time. It pulled it off. We're not catching anything but birds over here. We're gonna go to another spot. Next spot. All right, so we need a snook or a jack. If you want to go catch a shark, Johnny, you got to catch a— I'm going to call the tackle shop too. Sometimes they have frozen bonitas. Okay, Jonah, what's the holdup? What? Just say why aren't you catching anything. I don't know. I don't know. All you got to do is get a fish to bite that little hook. That easy. What'd you catch over there? Got something? Yeah, I got something. It's a big one. All right, little snapper. Okay, and he's not really big enough. Well, you got something. All right, let's take some breakaway, get some bait. We're gonna cut that up or use that whole? I'll probably chop in half. Okay, crush your fingers, hope you have good luck. You can catch the shark. Who's gonna catch the shark? We've got a bait fish, we're gonna try to catch a shark. Wow, it's really rough out here. Look at this, we're all having to hang on. Fancy bobber. You want to keep going for it? It's getting pretty rough. Cold out here, huh? Getting cold and wet. Yeah, you want to quit? You want to keep going? Guess they're wanting to stick it out a little bit. But if ever you think it's not safe or something, you call it. Okay, okay. You win some, you lose some, and some are rained out, as Zig Ziglar would say. We didn't catch anything on that, that trip. We had a great time though, and a great time overall. We came back rested and ready to make 2025 our best homesteading year yet. Thanks for joining us. I look forward to it. Let's do it together. Happy day.
