A chicken nest found during winter yields fresh eggs. The narrator uses a water float test to check if they're safe, then demonstrates the safest way to cook them: crack each egg into a separate bowl first so one bad egg doesn't ruin the whole batch.
Chapters
The boys found a rogue chicken nest, thankfully just in time, as we're in that winter egg slump. We really needed these eggs, but are they rotten? To find out, we're going to submerge these guys in water. If they float, they're definitely rotten. Yes! None of them floated. We're going to wash them, we're going to put them in the fridge. When we go to cook them, we are going to crack one at a time into a bowl before we put it into our main bowl. If you put, uh, the 7th of 8 eggs into a bowl and it was rotten, you've ruined all the eggs before it. So one at a time in a bowl, pour it into your, uh, collection of eggs.
