Victor Justin Rhodes shows how to soak chicken feed to cut costs by 15 to 25 percent. Reduce dry feed from one-third pound to one-quarter pound per chicken, cover with water for about 12 hours, and the grain becomes easier to digest while anti-nutrients break down.

How much food does a chicken need? A third pound a day, dry weight. Guys, you want to save 15 to 25% on your feed. Like I said, a chicken needs a third pound. Instead of a third pound of feed per chicken, let's put a quarter of a pound of feed in there, cover it up with water. We've got our quarter amount of feed in here. Just leave it, just cover it up enough water. Don't leave it in here, of course the dinos will take it down. This will soak and just for 12 hours. So just do this today. Take your feed that you're going to feed tomorrow, put in a bucket, cover it with water, and that's it. Then the next day, water and all, come out here and put it right on the ground. They're going to pick it. It gives them something to do. They got no YouTube. This is what they do. And what that did is, just like for humans, that's a grain, and that soaking breaks down the anti-nutrients in that grain and it becomes easier to digest. That's why the food goes further and saves you money. That's a quick hack right there.
