You going with?
Yep.
Okay, I like that. Okay, I like that enthusiasm. You might have to take it with you though, because I'm about ready to go. She's at it again, folks. Amazing hard-working woman right there. Uh, we got our heat under control. Oh, it's, it's warmer in here than we're calling for. We didn't fool around. I think we were froze to the bone. Waking up less than 59 degrees. Got our stove going. We didn't let it go out last night. I set all your stuff out. You just got to put, put the clothes on. Good morning, buddy. Good job putting hay in their boxes. Lily said she forgot her jacket down here at the cabin, so I'm gonna try to go get that for her. But hopefully Mr. Brown's jacket's down here too. For those of you that are newer to the channel, this is Jonah's cabin. Me and Josiah and friends built. Look at this cool thing. It's got a It's got flooring, a wood stove. Don't worry, they don't use that. Uh, and then a glass room upstairs. Isn't that cool? This is cool for one of your first builds. Real cool. Look at this guy picking them greens, straightening up the fence, man, getting them bedding. What's got into you? I don't know. They love it, especially the goose.
Yeah, the goose knocked him out of the way so he could get some.
Oh, Mr. Brown, you're not dressed.
Uh, halfway dressed.
Okay, well, you get dressed to come out and see me then. No. All right.
Do you like the wig?
Wig. You're funny. Oh, it's warm over here. Will you stay with me today? Maybe. Oh wait, what am I getting you ready for?
Go outside.
I'm getting you ready so you'll go and be with me. You know that, right? Thanks, Rebecca, for getting my tumbler. Oh, you leaned in.
Please get me a cup.
Yeah, so which cup do you want?
Uh, the metal cup.
Could be a thing.
All right, come on, let's go. I'll carry the bucket or the tumbler. Miss Brown, let's get your shoes. Wait, where are you going? You can't go back in. Mom's forbidding it. Where are your boots? I don't see them, bro.
Oh good, that means we gotta go.
Are they down at the stanchion area?
Let's go see.
Hey Gideon, look at this. My shoes are always right here. I take them off here every time. Here come the cows. Come on, we gotta go. Good job, Josiah. I don't see any shoes. Oh, maybe he can wear Lily's shoes. You gonna wear my Crocs? No. All right, come on. There, can you wear these boots?
I don't—
Don't you wear these boots? Is it too big, too small for Lily?
Uh, yeah.
Turn around. Oh, all right. Today I want you— no, no, I'm sure.
Yeah, yeah.
I want you to go find your boots today and your black jacket. Make sure the right— the, the rope is on his left. So if you're looking at him, it's gonna be on your right. You want to always have the extended rope in your right hand, see, as you approach him. You're just, uh, okay, if you're approaching him head on.
Kitty, can you hook this up?
No. Good. We need to get a collar on him. Do we have a small collar? Have y'all looked to see if we have a little collar? We have collars, but big collars. I know. Can we try this just that?
I think that one's too small.
It's too— it's probably too big. You know where our leather puncher is? You remember what I'm talking about that's been floating around? Huh?
No, but I can do it with my Leatherman. I don't have one.
Can you go find that hole punch? It might be slightly— yeah, I think that's probably too big. We need that leather punch. Can y'all find our leather punch? I'm getting it, chill. Gosh. You guys, get in! Can you come help me milk? What are you doing? Are you playing in the hay? All right, it's Monday, so we're doing a mastitis test. It's just a regular maintenance test. So you want it to blend in real fast. Can you see that, Josiah? Yeah, look how quickly that blended in into liquid. Yeah, no mess status. Well, that's it for Flossie today. Not because she didn't perform, but because we had— well, a little mishap and had to pour some out. Mr. Brown walked off, but did he come back? Mr. Brown, where'd you go? Maybe it was an illusion. Mr. Brown, there he is. You sticking around? You want to help me milk Phyllis?
No.
Okay, I'm gonna take Flossie's milk in, then let's do Phyllis. What's the matter?
Fed the hay and gave the sheep water.
Good job. Come on, we gotta milk. Look who's much happier. Big run.
What cow are you doing?
Phyllis. Come on, you like to help with her? Which one's Phil? Come on, you know which one. You know which one that is. Come on, come on, come on. Hey, come on. There we go. Good girl. Come on, come on. I've always just assumed she would bust through this door and walk right by here. Maybe she won't. Let's hold that door right there. Come on. Oh, she went in the stall. Wow, that's handy. I just assumed she'd bust through there. All right, I went to get my tumbler to wash her. I set it down there, but I guess it failed and it wasn't— this lid wasn't on tight and it all screwed out. Problem with that is she's eating one scoop out of alfalfa. She's gonna be out by the time I need to go wash her. What you doing? You look maybe without a vision. Kind of like you're wandering around. Want to come with? Yeah, I've got a very clear vision. It's a move day, guys. Guys, there's date pits, there's milk spilled on the counter. Uh-oh, run! Hey, don't get a new cloth to do that, honey. We use a— you just rinse out a, a wiping rag. Oh my gosh! You just set that on the counter after getting milk in it. No, you can't put it back after putting milk in it. Yeah, just hang it up. Get one of those, what, the, the wiping cloth. Yeah, now rinse it out. No, no, no, rinse it out. Who's gonna tidy up this porch? I don't know. No volunteers?
Nope.
What's the vision?
Oh, nothing.
Exactly. Come with me, man. No, come with me. Come with me, my man. No, no. Okay, come on, Josiah. She's out of her alfalfa. I don't want to feed her more because I don't want to have to stuff her with alfalfa. I don't want to give her only so much alfalfa. She's being ornery now. 10 squirts. Looks all right. Mr. Brown, what you doing? What you doing, Mr. Brown?
What are you doing?
I'm milking. You really need to walk around with that T-post? What? How crazy they get. The turd's coming. Those did good for us. I know you probably don't like this. You definitely don't like this one. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Just take a petting. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm not gonna hurt you. Okay? You know you like it. Behind the ear. Not gonna hurt you. Will you get pet? Hmm? You get pet? You're much better at it. You're much better. You like it behind the ears? What about you, Moose? You like it? Hmm? Or you like your mom? You a little like your mom? You coming?
Yeah. If you wait for me. Yeah, come on the board.
You're gonna go help? Okay, so we're gonna try to do a— I don't know how much family this is gonna be, but we're gonna try to do a family workout. Well, looky there. Hey, I found your shoes. These guys are at it. We got some killing guys. We're gonna haul it into Henry. Okay, uh, I can do this while you guys go let out the cows. All right. Hey, you guys gonna want to go split some starter logs?
No.
All right, well then we're going to clean this porch. That'll do it. All right, we're gonna clean the porch. We can't keep passing this porch as dirty as it is. As much as I want to go and get the wood and have the family work out, we gotta clean this porch. That'll get you on it, huh? So we have kindling, which is small like this, but then you have— you want to have something in between kindling and this fire logs. Like, you don't want to go from kindling to that, so we need something that we call starter logs.
Come up here.
Just come out.
I was waiting for you.
I'm waiting on you. Okay, you boys help me pull these— can that Henry up here? Let's, uh, can you— here, just, uh, you, you drag Henry up this Jonah got it. Time to go inside. That was smart of him. Can you grab that end, Josiah? We can make a ramp up this. Operation: clean up this porch. This looks a lot better. Jonah's gonna take that down to the farm. This looks much, much better. All right, Mom just texted. She said it's about to rain, so let's do our chores a little early. We're 20 minutes early. I'll have to come back to editing. You'll have to come back to Tetris. This had got trashed in dump run. Got some oil on it. I think it smells good after soaking it for a day and then washing it for 2 runs. Hey, good load of wood you guys got up here today. Oh look, it is about to storm, and I think I feel a drizzle. Grandpa Chuck, your days are numbered, bro. His wings are clipped, he still gets out. Uh, you're gonna miss it. Who you got there, Beck?
I got a friend.
Wilder.
Me and Wilder hanging out this afternoon.
You coming with? Yeah. You coming with?
He loves to see the cows and the sheep.
Yeah.
And he helps me water my seeds.
He gets so serious.
He does.
Here, you want to— You're serious.
Can you hold that?
Yeah. Wow. Good job.
I'll be right back.
See if you can't see Jonah and Josiah too. Okay, let's put the cows fed right here and let's get them in this paddock. Okay, Jonah, can you say bye-bye cow? Your cow? Is that your cow? Yeah. You confident in that? Them your cows? Looky here, Stud's done it again. Now that saved some of it. Okay, we're beating the rain so far. Thank goodness for Sally right now. We're over here where the sheep last were, getting their nets. It's got to go way over there. That would really stink carrying 4 or 5 nets that far. Okay, we've got everything in the back. Let's go set it up. I'm going where the sheep are gonna go. You want to ride? I know Wilder wants a ride. You got our lane patched up back? If we put a side fence right here, Rebecca, next to this, then we don't have to move it next time we move. We can just roll this fence up. We've got our sheep fence up. Why don't we go ahead and put our cows in before we get our sheep over? Mom's going back. That's good. They're getting used to this calf separation though now.
Hey, hey, they know what we want them better than we know what we want them.
Let's put a tent fence across here so the sheep don't blaze on down. Shoot, we didn't bring anything. That's all—
we set it all out.
Are you sure? That's kind of Jerry-like. All right, that'll be a bigger opening. Good thought, good call. Okay, you got some hay to lead them?
Yeah, it's down there.
Hey y'all, scoot, scoot! Here I come. All right, you gonna grab this hay, darling?
Yeah, I'll get it, but there— okay, so but I need to— we need to figure this out. The break is down there. Okay, so how do you want to do this?
Oh, the brake's just right there. Yeah, let's tighten this fence so they— there you go, Jonah, good job.
So we'll just open it and this fence will guide them down.
Yeah, Rachel, you can walk on one side of the— this lane so they don't— aren't as tempted to go through the lane. Okay, so you'll just walk along this lane as the sheep go outside, and that'll be less tempting for them to jump through the lane. With you there, you got it off? Yeah, I'm walking on this side of the lane. Rachel's on that side of the lane. Don't, don't run, just walk. There we go. Now if they start running, run. They're doing good so far. Oh, they're getting ahead of you, Mom. I know, what do you want me to do? Nothing, I guess. Just hope we set this up good enough. Hopefully they don't go straight at this lane and they go in with the calves. Good sheep, good guys, good gals. This worked. Our cow lane worked. Two strands are good enough to move the sheep. Yes, it's gonna be a game changer come spring when we're moving them. Big every day.
They're fast.
All right, Mom's picking up that one down there. I'm gonna help her pick up the rest of this. This is picking up the old fence now. We got our sheep nets. Let's check on the kids who were to put the Energizer down in the water. All right, you got the water in, Jonah?
Yep.
And we got the Energizer on? Okay. Well, 4:25, it did not rain on us. We beat the rain. Yes! Back to the edit.
