Suburban Family (of 10) takes over the Farm + VLOG

The video documents a large suburban family (ten members) volunteering on a farm for a day of chores. The host (Speaker A) organizes the group using a "divide and conquer" strategy, assigning tasks such as feeding guineas, pigs, chicks, weeding, milking the cow, and handling lambs. Family members, including Jason and Rebecca Montgomery, narrate their activities, share brief interviews, and reflect on the experience. The vlog captures informal, conversational moments: feeding animals, describing feed textures, milking raw cow and bull milk, picking berries, and a spontaneous frog rescue. Throughout, the participants discuss their enjoyment, the challenges of managing a large family, and how the farm work makes them more likely to consider farm life. The tone is upbeat, instructional, and playful, aiming to entertain viewers while showcasing the family's teamwork and connection to farm work.

We're good to go. You guys ready for this? So what I'm thinking is we got about 20 minutes till 8 o'clock, so let's do the small animal chores. We're going to divide and conquer. Have y'all ever heard of divide and conquer?
Yeah.
Do you like dividing and conquer, or do you like going together as a mass, being a big old target from the enemy? Okay, we're gonna divide and conquer, and then at 8 o'clock— how's your, how's your weeding skills? You got good— you got good weeding skills?
Yeah, I guess.
And then at 9 o'clock, does anybody want to milk the cow? Yes, you do? Only one? Okay, just he and I will go milk the cow and y'all can keep weeding. That's what it sounds like to me. Okay, now we have some more cow milking volunteers. Okay, ready, go! Hey, good sports, good sports. All right, you need some instruction. Come back, come back. Okay, we got our teams now. Josiah, you're gonna do the pigs. You're gonna do the chicks, the sea monsters, layer birds. Okay, go. And y'all, we're gonna go in and have some tea. The cameraman's got to take a break. Who's the camera person of the family? Let's try guest cam. I've never done this before. Head it up, make sure you're focused, and then look at the land.
Hi, my name is Jason Montgomery. I'll be guest camming today. I don't know, this will be fun. We've been driving since 6 today, and we're all participating and doing a little bit of help on the farm.
You know, events come and go, chores are forever. Just, just get them moist. See this? See how this is dry? Yeah, just get them moist.
Nathan, talk about the, uh, the feed.
Oh, this feed, it looks like almost like weird fresh oatmeal, but then it smells like balsamic vinegar or some like dressing on a salad with some croutons and corn.
I don't know.
Ryan, what are we doing? We are feeding the guineas right now. And what'd you do earlier?
Uh, we let out the kittens and, uh, we fed the pigs.
And what was your— you, you helped feed the pigs? Not really. Dad, does this bring you back to anything?
Thank you, Rebecca. Now to the funnest chore right now, the lambs. Okay, they're all good. Here we go, drenching time. Here we go, Rebecca. Tilt it a little bit.
So I know the regular viewers of this vlog probably already know this, but I love the, the barn under the house trick. It's great. It's like right above our house they're living, but then down here there's different stalls. Man, always be creative. Always do something different. That's my thoughts on all this.
My man Jason vlogging. How's it going?
Hey, you have a new career, buddy. Maybe if this works out, you know, this is the trial run.
YouTube's calling you. I'm sure this family's got a great story to tell.
A couple.
What's the biggest struggle you guys have overcome?
Having 8 children.
Hey, what are you lacking? Okay, just your layers. Yeah, get them a couple flakes of hay. Here you go, Rebecca. Here you go, Caleb.
Did you just, uh, wait.
Hi.
Did you just, uh, I just filled the bucket to give them some water. To give who, the lambs?
Yep. Do you like lambs?
What do you think of lambs as an animal?
I don't know them too well, but they're pretty cool.
They're pretty cool. Would you ever own a lamb? I don't know. Would you be Mary and have a little lamb?
Probably not.
Hey, you guys about done? All right, they'll be done soon. Jonah, we'll be at the blueberries.
We have 7 chickens, so Mom is, uh, Mom's getting tips. Just spread the feed on the ground, that's the best way. So you just go in the back, pull them out, collect your eggs.
I feel like this coffee eggs.
So you're just using grass then, huh?
No, okay, I'll use hay.
Yeah, it's pretty much impressed. I'm very impressed.
You ready to do it at home?
We'll see.
Are there any— are there any blueberries? Hey, they might be a strike if we don't have any blueberries. We might lose our volunteers quick. There's 3 raspberries. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Everybody gets 1 raspberry. Oh, those turned out to be unripe blackberries. There's gonna be a revolt down there. We're outnumbered. Okay, I'll give you some milk. Amazing crew here. They're gonna have this done in no time. Let's see if you can do it in 45 minutes. Can you do it in 45 minutes? Yep, I think you can. Easy. Oh, where'd that frog go? You guys are folding this old tarp and found a frog. All right, who's gonna pick him up and put him off the tarp? Oh, go, Christopher.
You want to grab this frog?
There we go, there we go. Good job. Set him off to the grass. He pee on you?
Yep.
He's too fast.
All right, go on, go on in.
I promise I have been doing some work. Ryan, you having fun? The star of the show right now is my mom. Look at this. You can't tell exactly, but she has been digging to get every single root out of this. Oh, here she goes. Look at that. I'm on a mission. She's a champ.
You got it done. Good job, guys. Now I'll ask the question again. Who wants to take a break at 9 to go milk?
I do.
Everybody!
Artsy interview with Rebecca time. Why'd you like this wall?
Well, it has very decorative vines growing and there's a nice old barn wall. I think it's pretty cool.
Are you gonna take pictures in front of it later?
Definitely.
Does everything we did this morning make you more or less likely to want to have a farm?
More likely.
Why?
Because it's kind of fun just to get out and do some work. Makes you feel accomplished.
Cool.
Noah, what are we doing with these weeds?
Uh, we're feeding the layered chickens and the pigs half and half.
Half and half. All right, they're gonna enjoy. Look at them, they know food's coming. Oh man. Oh, and here they come. Raw milk time. So milk straight from yesterday morning. Thoughts, Noah?
It's good.
Like it?
Ryan? Way better than store-bought.
I feel healthy.
All right, I'm gonna have to try some. Rebecca, have you tried any?
Not yet.
Not yet? All right, we'll get the genuine reaction. You were worried for a second, weren't you?
That's called a bull milk.
All right, I'm gonna try some.
Always—
am I supposed to share with you?
Yeah.
Oh yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Indeed, I'm enjoying just the whole day. Being on the farm is great. And I know everybody else is enjoying it, right, Ryan? Yeah.
