It's too cold for shorts, but we're soon gonna be very warmed up. La la la la la, let me be free. Now you walk slightly faster. Walk slow a minute. Walk fast a minute. Gotta do a slight jog. We're about to sprint up that hill. Gotta get my heart rate going, blood flow going. There's nothing wrong with my feet. There's nothing wrong with my feet. Nothing wrong with his feet. Nothing wrong with his. We got a little experiment going on. Telling myself my feet are— Lyme disease has got my feet. I've been hurting for 10 years. I can't run. You're walking, keeping up with me. Met with the doctor yesterday. She ruled out plantar fasciitis. She even ruled out Lyme, because if it were Lyme pain, she thought it would be more joint. I found myself remembering my challenge to run this morning, and I naturally thought about the pain. All this I dreaded. It's gonna hurt. And then caught myself and I said, envision, envision running with joy. My feet aren't gonna hurt after this because there's nothing wrong with them. You can walk as fast as I run sometimes. Winnie likes this. Winnie hurt her foot the other day, limping. Everybody's like, oh, we got to take her to the vet. And I said, she doesn't even know about a vet. She's just gonna heal herself. And she just slowed down her eating. She laid around a lot, and she was earthing, grounding, you know. She was in the sun. You wouldn't believe it, she healed herself faster than the old man. Story I've told myself in the past is you're usually okay during the run, but it's after you pay for it. I'm not going to tell myself those feet aren't going to be any worse, and this is actually going to be healing for them. Hey Speedy, there's nothing wrong with my feet. Did you have pain? Not really, only maybe a little here at the end. Y'all ready? Yep. They're gonna do it again. They weren't happy with that. That's what winter's for anyway, you know? Chores are chill. Got a little more time to have some fun. Spring's coming, which means work is coming. They're continuing painting. He did just shut that door, so I'm not gonna go in there. They're probably painting. Can't wait to show you guys that. They're painting over the Sheetrock priming. We don't paint till after the— I guess after everything's in. Where are you going? Gideon! He's supposed to stay with me. You gotta stay with me, bro. I got him a bike. The boys outgrew these bikes. How do you like it? A little big for you, but you got this. Good job. Homeboy needs a little more attention right now. Everybody's stressed out from the move. We're remodeling the dream house. We moved into the guest house to cabin. Kids almost burned it down. Had a grease fire with smoke and extinguisher damage. While we're remodeling, we moved. Do you miss the cabin? No, you don't? You sure? Home is where the family is, right? Not really a location. So I want you to have a place for that bike, and then I want you to come with me. We're gonna just putz around on chores. Another truck of painters. Another truck of painters. Shoot, do you think we can get through that? Yeah, they'll snap right up. All right. We about didn't make it. We need to come cut these branches too. Maybe— hey, that's— maybe that's what you and I do this morning. What do you think? We about didn't make it. We need to come cut these branches too. Let's get them going. They should have been started going back. Kids do a great job on the chores, but it is— it's, it's still necessary to check in on it. They're going this way with the rams, but it'd be better if we came down and back, down and back, down and back. I think it'll be a more recognizable pattern. Okay, so, so get in. We're pushing it right over here. Okay, how's our water doing, bro? Hey, all right, let's get it up. This is a super easy All-in-one ram pen keeps the ram from breeding the ladies until we want him to breed the ladies. It's a 16 by 16 cattle panel welded to 1-inch cubing. We got flat free— some of them are 8-inch, they should have been 10-inch. Got about a 6-inch gap underneath to get over tall grass or humps. Shade cloth, minerals— it's an all-in-one. Hoops on all corners so you can pull it in any direction. Let's give them their hay. You want to run and get the hay? I'll drive it over. Well, I don't really like driving the side-by-side on the field, but sure, this one time. Joel Seligson taught me you're supposed to treat your pastures like cornfields. They probably have enough if we move them twice a day. I don't want the management of that, so we're just gonna, uh, we're just gonna supplement with some hay. Pretty soon there'll be enough grass though that they won't need any hay. Pretty rough trying to drive through that. Got this little whippersnapper chainsaw. We did what we could. Duty calls. Bye-bye, Beck. We love you too. He's got an acupuncture appointment. Hey, they caught wind and wanted to go help me with that saw job. We got a little bit of domestics. Let's get settled into this house. I know we want to work on the farm, but we got to take care of this first. Yes, cleaning it is a step, and then let's organize it. We've got to move all our snacks. We've got to situate this pantry for us to go to your horse lesson? 10:50. Okay, well, you need to get a hitch. Boys, do you think we can do these domestics in 40 minutes and then we can go— maybe. Whoops. You know what I need to get going really fast? The lamb. Should have done this 20 minutes ago, but I guess it's not too late. That's one of our jobs today. Today, cleaning out that fridge. Going into 2 days with the beef broth. Roasts are super easy, that's why we're doing them a lot right now. You just start them in the morning, they're ready at dinner. We gotta tackle it. Unused, unutilized space because we have to go through our milk so fast. We don't need this many jars. This is coming along. We didn't need 4 rows of jars, so we removed some jars. We have to keep up with the milk anyway. We put the KitchenAid over here. Our bucket of rice. Randolph's here giving us some plastic over the old asbestos. I bet you that's asbestos. This came in handy from Randolph yesterday. We've cleared that a lot. We have a lot of room there. Hey, let's go through this fridge. Let's categorize and organize, Josiah. And see that spilled cream down there? Randolph's hanging us broom hangers. This place is gonna be set up. Austin and Ashley are making a break, taking a Right? Yeah. Paper towel holder equipped with dishes. Gonna have hanging pans. They're gonna have a guest room with bunk beds. Nice setup. Pantry. No studio light. All right, y'all gonna take care of this, distributing around the farm? I don't know why, but domestics always grind my feet to work. I'm kind of regretting what I did this morning. That was a stupid mistake. I feel like I want to tell Austin to cut that footage of running this morning. It's kind of embarrassing. I'm gonna leave it in there. It's too embarrassing to be next to me? I'm gonna be bold I don't think it worked, man. I think I'm hurting worse. It's a battle of the mindset. But maybe the more appropriate one is in the morning. Hey, I'm just gonna go about my farm chores. My feet are okay. I could go about the farm chores. I can go about the domestics. I don't need to push it to the running. Gideon, today's a new day, bro. Come with us and Henry. He doesn't want to. I don't know why he wants to just sit in the car. Why do you want to sit in the car? We've actually been sitting in the car for I don't know, you guys lasted— oh wow, you guys lasted 45 minutes! Welcome to my office. I'm writing this week's, uh, email. Let's go! Actually, by the way, if you want to get in on 5 or so things I find each week to inspire the homestead lifestyle, you want to sign up for my email list. I'll put that down in the description. In this one, we talked about the redneck hot tub, how to make a roast, which is like farmer's fast food, although it's very slow. It's fast and easy, you just gotta time things. You gotta remember to lay out the meat and start it in the morning. Let me help you. Get in, get down. Is that fun? Yeah. What's so funny about that? It's so good to see and hear a baby laugh. I got the best job in the world. Number one, I get to work with my kids, and two, it's been proven to be pretty mobile thanks to the smartphones. I can do my work here. Hey, why are you both in there? Let's send Henry out. Why is his boots wet after that? I don't know. Is that pee? Yeah. Not pee. No. I was uploading footage. Rebecca called me over here. Um, yeah, I don't think ants have wings like that. I've actually been dealing with this for a minute. I got a little bit of footage on the iPhone. Yeah, Rebecca said Yes, Mr. Goo Pants. Four wings is termite. These are termites. They're just having a little party coming out of here and here. On the phone with the insurance guy for the cat, it's like, are we really— are we gonna have to move out of this house? We just feel like we just got settled and we're gonna be able to start working again. He said don't panic, they're sending out for a nest. They might not have destroyed foundational wood. He said you can vacuum them up. Tape this up, and he can come tomorrow. I had some in a house once where we were renting it. So they're coming up the wall right there. They're coming up. Yes, the wet on both sides. They're coming for water. Either that or they're leaving it. I don't know. I thought they normally went to it, but what in the world? It's termites. Yeah, really? Look at them coming up that wall. I have vacuumed I have taped— I was gonna say we slowed it down. I think they just came out of the floor. Oh boy, I'm gonna be busy. The kids have offered to make the supper. They can tell that we're stressed. This is much needed. My new office. I'm gonna finish these emails. All of yous are helping? What'd you do with the lamb? Everyone can have the lamb. Delicious. They had to come up with this. They decided to do this. This lamb got turned off. Here in the middle of the day, usually the farmer's fast food is a breakfast. Eggs and sausage, some fried taters, pancakes. Breakfast is always a go-to quick meal. We still haven't gotten a table. No, I have chairs coming. Oh, you do? Yeah, I got benches. 2 weeks and we're almost set up. Everybody, what's the word? Happy day! Happy day!
