The excerpt is an English, diarized, conversational vlog mixing a dental implant/crown appointment (Victor getting three back teeth), candid farm and homesteading scenes (harvesting, cooking, farm-fresh meals), and reflective commentary about appreciating final moments in everyday life. The tone is personal and observational, alternating between procedure details, family interactions, and broader reflections on presence and gratitude.

I'm about to get 3 back teeth and it's going to change my life. The movement of the head even though they numb it. Oh. Gotta get a tooth removed that is infected. It's been bothering me for quite some time for like biting down on it. September 13th, 2017. That's almost 5 years ago I got my third tooth removed on this side. More specifically. How many days have I been chewing on one side of my mouth? Oh my goodness, 1,736 days. Despite me being carnivorous for 2 and a half years, I've had just one side of my mouth. You guys want to see this? I need one of those probe lenses. Although I'm a little worried there's a sore on my tooth. On one on the side. I hope he can still put them in. Like, we're getting the crowns today, okay? What happened? Um, abscesses. We think the first one started from doing a root canal. I think that's bad news. And then I think it spread. I don't know if that's the way it works. I'm not a dentist. And then we think it too— I think it too is my Lyme disease. Come on, where's everybody? It's 5:30. It's getting late. At bright and early 7 AM, I'm getting crowns. That means I'm going to be able to eat on this side of my mouth for the first time in almost 5 years. Do you know how annoying that is, especially as a meat eater? Actually, I've gotten pretty used to it. Here at the end, we do think it probably unbalances my body. It's going to be interesting to see what it does to the soreness in my back. Uh, didn't have soreness in my back till after this. I'm not sure that's it. We were living in a school bus doing the Great American Farm Tour, posting a video every day. I would say we probably had a pretty stressful lifestyle. Come on guys, get up! You got to do the farm today. I got to get some teeth. Hey, you getting up? So worried, I'm so worried right now. Down to it, and this has been a 2.5-year procedure to get these implants. I am a strict carnivore right now. If you follow any carnivore guys online, the steak is like the crown jewel. Well, I don't really like these steaks because have you ever had to chew a steak on just one side of your mouth? Kind of stick to the burger. Let's be real, that can get dull. As nutrient-dense, as wonderful as it is, It can get though. Mr. Brown, I'm going to the dentist. Yeah, he used to like to go to the dentist, even if it was just to go with me. You don't like to go to the dentist more? No, this is a special occasion. Nice pants, nice shoes. It's on you guys, right? What, you're gonna do the chores? I'm gonna be gone. Anybody want to film? You'll do it?
I don't know how it helps me.
I guess I could try it though. What should I give you? Should I give you the GoPro? Let Mom have the M50?
Yeah.
Wow, look at that moon. You decide to go with me?
Yeah.
What do you got? Bubbles. You gonna blow bubbles in a car? Yeah. Okay, go for it. Oh! The podcast that I listened to on the way is going to change my life forever.
I'd like you to take a moment to think about all the things in this life that you will experience for the last time. Of course, there will come a day when you will die, and then everything will have been done for the last time. But Long before you die, you will cease to have certain experiences. Experiences that you surely take for granted. If you're a parent, when is the last time you will pick up your child or tuck her into bed or read her a story? Our youngest daughter still says "aminals" instead of "animals," and though I'm a stickler for words, I am not correcting her. Each one of those is priceless. Now, thinking in this way lends a poignancy to everything, even to things that you don't like. Again, let's say you're a new parent and you're getting woken up several times a night by your baby. That's brutal, but there will be a last time, and knowing that can change your experience in the moment. There's something sweet even about this experience. It's possible that you will miss this. We do everything a finite number of times, and yet we tend to take even beautiful moments for granted, and the rest of the time we're just trying to get through stuff. You're just trying to get to the end of whatever experience you're having. Each time you do something, pleasant or unpleasant, that is one last time you will do it. And there will come a time when you will have done something the final time, and you will rarely know when that is.
Beautiful day. We are there. Thank you for coming with me. When we arrived at the dentist, I was extra sure to care when he reached and grabbed my hand. That little man grabbed my hand. It could have been the last time. Is this the last time we're gonna hold hands? There's gonna be a last time, and this could be it. It's gonna be the last time you come to the dentist, probably. This might even be it. When he sat on my lap in the dentist chair. Yeah, sort of annoying, but not really. Heck no, it wouldn't be annoying if I knew this is the last time this little boy is going to want to sit on my lap. Jonah doesn't sit on my lap anymore. I don't remember the last time that was. It wasn't like, hey, this is the last time I'm going to sit on your lap. That could have been it. That's what they look like. These are them, huh? Good morning, Dr. Kamal. Hey, how's it going? Is this normal that you start at 7 AM?
No, no, just for you. There are different types of implant restorations. For you, you have an all-ceramic implant.
Yep.
When you go to seat your crowns over top of these implants, they could either seat screw-retained or cement-retained. These guys, because you see the little holes in them, these are called screw retainers. Basically, we go, we put it over top of the abutment, and then I will actually fill this up with a little resin composite material. You won't see that hole anymore.
So you think I'll be chewing on my left side today?
No, absolutely not.
No. I'm just kidding. You're going to need puree. I mean, my left side's jaw is going to be weak. First one in.
Numero uno.
How's it look?
It looks good.
Number two. All right, we're going good.
Yeah, we're in.
One more. It's getting harder as you get further back there, huh? That's right.
That's when I'm gonna need her help with the smaller fingers.
Big fingers, little fingers. Yes, she's next.
All right, let's do the last one.
You gonna take it off for me, my man? Thank you. He likes coming so much, maybe you'll be a dentist. He's hired! What do you think, Gideon? You gonna work here? No. I'm trying to replace this one. Uh-oh. Get rid of her! Uh-oh.
Good morning. I am just checking on my garden. I put grass clippings down yesterday, and so I was just checking because it seems like Oh shoot. So we're having an issue, as we always seem to have an issue every year, with cats in the garden. Seems like once you put the grass clippings down and there's not like dirt showing, they are much more apt to not use the garden as a— oh sorry, I'm all foggy— as a, um, litter box. These are all my cucumbers. I'm so excited. Oh, I have something right here too. I'm not sure what that is though. Oh, that's lettuce. Perfect. But let's head on over to the high tunnel and see what we have going on over there. But look at these tomatoes! I'm very, very excited. I've got some blushing, but look at all of the tomatoes. That we have. Like, it's just insane.
We're back! I'm so excited. I gotta eat something. Look what I got, Becky!
Wow.
Oh my gosh. Wow.
And then what? Does the gum grow up?
Let's go eat something.
Does the gum grow up?
It will. Yeah. Okay, cook these eggs fast enough. Wait, I'm supposed to be mindful. This might be the last time I cook eggs for all I know. I just really want to try these teeth. First time in 5 years I'm gonna chew on my left side. It's gonna be kind of scary. Let's start with eggs. Don't break the tooth.
Wow, does that feel so weird? Is it weird? I'd be freaking out.
Oh man, oh man. Good morning, California. How y'all doing?
What's up?
Hey, I like that hat, my man.
I know, I like it too.
It's styling. California number 3 standing in. Cameraman. Okay, Aaron, who is the most likely to start homesteading after this? Get, get some meat chickens. Probably Jesse. Oh really? Oh, Jesse, Jesse. I've had laying chickens before. I'll tell you what, if you commit to something by the end of this, I will sign a book and give it to you. I'll commit to laying chickens. Oh my, he's into it, he's into it. All right, Jacob. I'll have 6 laying chickens by Christmas. That's a personal guarantee. Really? Stamp it. Okay, Josh, you're converting them. Hamburger, let's see how it does because this is basically my lunch every day. What am I doing on this side? That's so weird. Definitely weaker. This is like a legit Burn It Up cooking show episode. They even got the beautiful one helping. We set out all the supplies. No drama finding supplies. See, that didn't fit. They won't see that drama, but the vloggers will. That's it. Boom! 4. These folks have never had farm fresh chicken. You want me to make some ice cream? I do. Oh, that's a good idea. They'll love that. I know.
I was thinking I'll make some brownies too to go with it.
So we're gonna harvest cream the old-fashioned way.
Yep.
Ladle it. Oh, I like that, Lily. It's a camera. And that afternoon when Lily showed me this little camera she drew, this little craft she made, thankfully I remembered this could be the last drawing she's proud of and shows me. I better cherish this. Look at this accessory on his armor. He wants to show me I'm appreciating him more, knowing this could be the last. This could be the last. Is it a hook? Yeah. Nice. I liked it. Hey, you juggling? Yeah. Let's see it. The moment has arrived. Oh my word, cucumbers fresh from the field today. So good. Chicken out of the farm, off the field. Mashed potatoes not even 2 hours old. Fried cabbage right here. Fried cabbage.
That's a feast.
These folks have never had— you never had fried cabbage? Never had fried cabbage. Look at this plate of chicken. You're on it. It's quiet. Oh, he's almost halfway done. You still hungry after biscuit head for lunch? Oh yeah. And you guys are crushing it. It's amazing. Are you being a carnivore like me? I am.
I'm pulling Justin Rhodes.
Yes. Okay, who's had the chicken yet? Right here.
That's so good.
Hooray for homegrown chicken. Right now, you know who lived in the moment? Aaron. Aaron knew this was going to be the last great meal he ever had. He said— Aaron said we have ruined him. Is the hype real? This is amazing. Is it? Yeah. Come on, man, take on it.
Come on.
Sorry, bro. One-way road. There's no, there's no turning around. Oh man, there's no turning. You can't go back to normal chicken, right? Say bye to the Colonel. He's from California. He doesn't have have access to this kind of food. It's just not their lifestyle he's gonna lead. And he enjoyed our meal like I've seen nobody else before. Aaron, come on, give us a review. This makes you want to dance, you know? So good. I like it. So good. And did you see how much he enjoyed that food? What if every time we sat down to a meal thinking this might be the last time I'm gonna eat this, if If we knew it was, we would cherish it.
It's the best ice cream and brownie ever.
You never had raw milk ice cream before? Never ever. It's making me homesick. This is so good. I was sitting inside there editing or doing a thumbnail and yesterday and Mr. Brown came up and got in my lap. Of course I was able to cherish it a little bit more. But he said, are we ever gonna see Clay again? He was one of the filmmakers. And I said, No, we probably will not see him ever again. And then I thought about that. Whoa! I didn't think about that in the moment that they were leaving. Because if I had, I would have hugged them. So sorry guys, if you're watching this. I did give them my book though, so I'm pretty happy about that. We got one more thing to do. We gotta get these converts on board. A-A-R-O-N. Oh my gosh. Normal. And I'm getting 6 chickens by Christmas. Oh, 6 Christmas— 6 chickens by Christmas. What type? The laying kind, the ones that have eggs. Once I read this book, they're game over. You guys are going to come to my house for some— awesome, it's not too serious— over easy eggs. Clay, you're gonna do meat chickens? Yes, some sea monsters. So you're gonna do some sea monsters, bro? Okay, my man. Right here, it's gonna be—
that's gonna be my kitchen.
That's right.
By the fall.
All right. Fall time. You can do it, man. On the surface of this story, I got some teeth and my life has changed. But what has really changed is that I've dug deeper into awareness, and hopefully that will sink into my heart, and I will appreciate and be present in every single moment. And not only will I change because of the way I'm acting, the people around me will change in a positive way.
