This is the "Just Plant" Lifestyle

The video showcases the Holler family’s decade‑long transition from suburban life to full‑time homesteading, culminating in their recent move to a North Carolina property. Within two months they have cleared pasture, planted a garden, built a chicken tractor, installed a fire pit, and engineered a DIY strawberry tower from drainage pipe. Their story illustrates a “do‑what‑you‑can‑with‑the‑space‑you‑have” mindset, encouraging viewers that even small‑scale projects can lead to self‑sufficiency. The host uses the Hollers’ experience to promote a six‑part Do‑It‑Yourself Abundance member series covering quitting the rat race, land selection, financing, RV living, planning, and prioritization, and highlights additional expert contributors and limited‑time fall registration for premium membership.

I'm crazy proud of my friends the Hollers. You see, 10 years ago they had the dream to quit the rat race and set out to homestead together as a family.
This area right here is like 20 chickens worth.
So they bled, sweated, shed tears so that they could build up equity in their home, then travel clear across America and search in search for a land that they could live off of. What do you think so far?
Totally possible.
It's interesting. Lots of junk.
It's not as much land as we wanted, but there's land around it that we can maybe buy.
Fast forward through an epic journey through 46 states, and they land in one of the best ones, North Carolina. Now they're only 2 months into their new property, and they've already mowed down wild and woolly pastures. They've planted a garden. They've gotten a flock of chickens to create compost. And they've got some chickens being pasture-raised on an amazingly built but yet slapped together from resources off their land chicken tractor. They've made great progress in demoing an old mobile home.
I love demo!
And they've cleared a trail in the dense forest around the perimeter of their property. One of the earlier visits to their homestead really revealed what they were about.
So this middle is gonna be our big garden, and I want to do a potager, raised beds, like super pretty trellises everywhere.
I can remember Meg showing us this fire pit, explaining this grand vision of what it was going to be one day.
So what we'd like to do is have a big full-length deck off the back of the mobile home with stairs down the middle between those two trees. And so you come down into the garden, and this would be like a half an acre garden of raised beds. And then that way too, centrally located, when we have the farmhouse fixed up, and you can come up— so you come down to the garden or up into the garden. And then the pergola in the middle with a big old fireplace and barbecue area.
But here's the thing about Ben and Meg— they didn't wait for this grand fire pit to come in fruition to have a fire pit. They built a fire pit now. Granted, it was just some cinder blocks in a circle, but they built a fire pit. Turns out that's how they've always been back in suburbia California— compost pile, gardens, Chickens, they didn't wait to have broad acres. They were doing what they could in square feet.
This is our strawberry tube. I guess it's not a tower, it's a sideways tower. But we took some drainage pipe that we got from Home Depot and we drilled a bunch of holes in it, and then we filled it up with potting soil and stuck it up here and put these strawberries that we got from the nursery, the strawberry starts, in it.
They planted where they were and with what they had, and this could be you too, no matter what your situation. The Hollers no doubt have a lot to give and share with us, us all who want to grow more of our own food. So whether you're wanting to quit the rat race and broadacre homestead, or keep doing your job and just have a raised bed in the backyard, the Hollers are here to inspire and teach and help us accomplish that mission. So that's why I've teamed up with the Hollers to bring you long-form interviews every single month. A 6-part series. Well, the first video was what to think about before quitting the rat race to homestead, and I just added the second video into my member area, and it's called what should you look for in a homestead and what, what, what's the difference between various states. The third video in this series, we're going to talk about how do you begin to afford the homestead lifestyle. There are 3 more videos beyond that talking about RV living, whether you're going to travel and find a homestead or live in an RV while you build up your homestead. We'll talk about how do you go into planning your new homestead, and then what do you begin to do first and how do you prioritize that. That's a 6-part series with the Hollers. But beyond the Hollers, there are hundreds of videos inside my Do-It-Yourself Abundance member area. We are bringing in others of my friends. You guys may know some of them. Al Lumna talking about cold climate homestead. Casey Oswitch, my gardening coach, coming in and talking about fall gardening. The Fit Farmer coming in to talk about keeping fit on the farm. And then Jason Contreras talking and sharing some very important homestead builds like garden carts, uh, veggie washing station, and affordable greenhouses. So guys, that's just a little bit, that's just the tip of the iceberg of what we have inside my Do-It-Yourself Abundance member area. It's fall registration, y'all. Fall registration is up right now. It's a limited time. I'll give you a link for that down in the description if you're seeing this after fall registration is closed. We'll have some information on how to get on the waitlist or maybe get in on the standard level. Standard level will be around, but guys, premium and annual memberships are gone after fall registration, and we won't open it up again until 2020. So please check out the description. We all can learn so much from the Hollers. I know you guys are gonna enjoy it. So many people have already gotten in there and are enjoying it, and they're having a blast with it, and they're learning and being inspired, and I'm just so proud to have them on the team and be offering something as beautiful as this that is absolutely changing people's lives. So just go check it out.
