Trying to Balance It All

In this vlog episode, Victor (Speaker A) gives viewers a day‑in‑the‑life on his family farm, weaving together several threads. He demonstrates a health‑focused food hack by grinding, freezing, and flaking liver to stealthily add it to tacos, spaghetti, and other meals, describing the process in detail. He then showcases the kids’ enthusiasm for an airsoft match, arranging a showdown between the farm’s children (Gideon, Waylon, Lily, etc.) and two retired Army veterans—one a PSYOP specialist and the other an infantry/HUMINT veteran—highlighting the balance between supporting children’s interests and leveraging the veterans’ expertise. The vlog also captures routine farm home‑improvement work, including sheetrock installation, painting, and selecting paint colors, with Rebecca and the family discussing the progress. Throughout, the narrator emphasizes the goal of keeping the children engaged on the farm into adulthood. Finally, the episode promotes a free Film Fest landing page, offering a behind‑the‑scenes look at the vlog’s production and inviting viewers to sign up. The tone is informal, conversational, and enthusiastic, with moments of humor and pride.

Shall we do an unboxing? A cleaning bottle, a cleaning rag. Y'all ready to get lit up? Yeah. Boys versus military. Yeah. Where y'all going? We're aiming the guns in the woods. Target practice? Yeah. Happy day and welcome to yet another edition of the day in the life of some health nuts growing their own food. Today we're exploring the health relationship, the healthy relationship with our children. We're supporting them and their ideas. The boys have had this idea to play airsoft against experienced tactical military guys. I reached out to the audience and we got a couple of guys. Fresh out of the military coming today to hopefully light them up in airsoft. Think you can beat a military guy?
No, I can't even beat Austin. Bruh. I had a perfect shot at it.
Gotta support the kids and their interests and what they want to do with the farm for them to fully buy into enjoying it here and hopefully staying here one day. That doesn't have to be in our family culture.
Go to the bank if you need to, Papa.
Why assume that children have to leave, leave. We're not doing that. They may, but we're gonna assume and build it and set it up so that they can stay on the farm well into their adulthood. Speaking of health, let's make use of some liver. Found a way to trick us all into eating liver yesterday. We grinded liver, froze it in a tray. We broke some off yesterday and that wasn't too much. I didn't taste it. Did you taste it? No. And last night's dinner, then we can put it in freezer bags and it'll stay. We'll just have little individuals to pop into our ground meat. Now I'll crack in some meat pieces.
You have them. Crack them up into little pieces.
I get when they boss me around. Liver bark. I've noticed something with children. When they're young like this, maybe even a little younger because he's now bossing me around, they just follow me around. As they've gotten older and they have their own interests, I find my time divided. Support the boys in the airsoft, support Lily and her horses. What do you think you're going to be into? I don't know. You and Henry. Come on, ladies. You guys are kind of another club coming up. We got to break it down in just the right size, so maybe this much in 5, 6 pounds and Nobody tastes. Super excited about this. It was Rebecca's idea to grind it up and we've made bark and I'm so excited. Last night we had it in our tacos and nobody noticed and we all got liver. It's one of the tastiest things in the world. How's it going?
It's good, how are you?
Yep. More liver? Liver flakes.
Flakes?
So we ground it, put it in trays, and then you froze it flat and now we break it into flakes. Gotcha. The painter came Oh, he did?
I talked to him.
Oh, he did?
Yeah, he just wanted to know like what we wanted, like on the outside.
Did you tell him what kind?
Well, I said on the outside, I told him it would just be white and black. I picked the colors out, but— See that? It's really cool.
Actually, that's a good idea.
It's perfect. It just melted away into the, into the taco meat.
Oh, look, Gideon. Winnie's not gonna need to eat for days. She ain't coming anywhere near me. She says I got the prize.
If you did it with floss, you'd and buried it. So I don't know if that's Flossie's or Dun Muffin's.
Winnie doesn't usually eat her dog food for days after a butchering. How are you? You're happy? He calls Shorts Be It. You slept 13 hours last night. Went to bed at 5:30, got up at 7. Let's put one bag in the freezer to easily access. Put it in spaghetti tonight. Look at this arsenal. Don't tread on y'all. You're excited because Baby Waylon's here? He looks over at him. These are your friends, future besties. Hey, what's going on, bud? Hey, what's going on? Yeah, what does that mean? Uh, I don't know. Supposedly it means forgiveness of sins, but I can't confirm that. What language is that? Arabic. Gulf front. Can you two beat 6 boys? Maybe. It depends. I think your only disadvantage is you don't play a lot of airsoft.
Our generation of soldier is mostly urban fighting.
Okay.
So like, we've trained running through the woods.
Okay.
I can run through the woods, but, uh, most of our training is clearing houses and that type of stuff.
What branch of the military? Army. Army. Both of you are Army? Okay, cool.
He's a PSYOP guy, just finished going through PA training, so now he's a licensed PA. I was an infantry guy, human intelligence collector, and now I'm a Salesforce Business Analyst online.
Is this it? Where's Jonah? Hand rolls again. Hey, you look like a natural.
Hey, yep, it's all coming back.
Your gun, see? All right, 3 hours, 6 hours, just light up some teenagers. Well, you know, like I was— I can't do this to my own children, so when John was like, yo, you want to take it out on these? It's always funner to take it out on somebody else's kids, right? What do you think, John, after looking at everybody? You think you're gonna kick their tail? We'll see.
These guys look prepared to me. They look very prepared.
Okay, quick pit stop before we go in the woods to play. We gotta make sure the gas line didn't get buried.
Is that it right here? It's right there in that corner.
Pipe is buried in there, but they say no problemo. Sheet rockers are here. 6 boys versus 2 retired army vets. Thinkin' Chance? I don't know. I don't know. No. Go! Mom and Lily hard at work making lunch for everybody. Airsoft battle over. Rare opportunity you get to go in the house with shoes on. Really? Just go right into the table, get your plates, and go right back out. Shoes on in the Roadhouse. Come on, Army.
Hopefully it's better than Army food.
Does it have a reputation?
Oh yeah, there's lots of songs for being bad, lots of songs about it.
Yeah, John the same. We were not—
so I was in 3rd Special Forces Group when he was in 4th PSYOP. Yeah, so we were adjacent, but we went to the same church together.
That's how you know each other. Deck done!
It is!
Wow, how's that feel?
So nice.
Wood from our land.
I know, wood from our land, but then also just like Also just like so amazing. Okay, I gotta go.
Okay, you're gonna be late to your— this has a really nice cozy type feel. I don't think the plumber is going to be able to get into that, but maybe he can. Is it hard to learn to walk on this thing? Yeah, it took me a while. How do you— how do you learn? You learn the shorter ones? Yeah, well, that's what you're doing. Get on the small ones. Okay. And then you just start practicing. Yeah, it feels so good, like a house, sheetrock going up. You even have the, uh, boots, apron. Yep. And the hat. Look at this, camera on the go. Happy day. Are you about to do the dance? Yeah, I'm about to try it. You need me to get you the video I go off of? Oh, you have a video? I just thought I would show the people this. I guess you're making a spoof on how I make the vlogs, farm vlogs for Film Fest. Yeah, give them a little behind the scenes. He's the editor, so he definitely gets behind the scenes. Have a funny one then. Yeah, it should be, hopefully. Especially if you're gonna try my dance, it's definitely gonna be funny. I'll leave you to it. I think he's trying to be secret, so I better not watch this. You guys want to see this spoof and all these other Film Fest films? We just built the landing page. You can sign up for it now. Film Fest is free, end of March. Becca, you in here? Hey, there you are. What you gonna do?
I'm just gonna try out this color here.
Sherwin-Williams stuff?
It's not Sherwin-Williams, but it's, uh—
What do you think?
I like it. It's not too bright.
Okay, you happy with it?
I think so. I mean, I want to see it dried.
Aww.
It's just so nice. I just want to be here so bad.
Are these happy tears or sad tears?
No, they're happy. I'm just like, I can't believe it. Like, this looks crazy. It's like what we, what we've envisioned. It's like coming to life. You're like, this is just whatever.
He's done 100 of these. I know. Serious as a heart attack.
I know, every time he's like, it's so serious.
Don't tell anybody, but there's a bark of liver in the spaghetti. Taste and see, Josiah. He's already eating all his. How'd you like that liver spaghetti? He's not a big fan of spaghetti. I don't taste the liver. Does anybody taste the liver?
Is there liver in this?
Yes. Yeah, get used to it. It's gonna be in this and the Mexican, hopefully for the rest of our lives. Figured out how to put liver in the meal. I'm gonna call that happy day. See you in the next one.
