In this informal, raw video, the creators of the "Great American Farm Tour" documentary announce that the film is now available on Amazon Prime (free for Prime members, rentable or purchasable for others). They recap the premise of the documentary—a 10‑month, cross‑country bus tour (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada) where their family visited backyards, market farms, urban homesteads, and larger operations to explore diverse food‑growing methods and to decide where to settle their own family property. The hosts describe the bus conversion, the Kickstarter campaign that funded the project, and the community contributions that made the film possible. They highlight specific farms and people they met (e.g., Joel Salatin, Jill Winger, Shea Elliott, Paul Gauchy, Primal Pastures, Jonathan Dodd). The video serves as a persuasive call to action: viewers are urged to watch the documentary on Amazon, rate it, write reviews, and share it, explaining that higher engagement will boost Amazon’s recommendation algorithm and help grow the broader homesteading movement. They also mention practical benefits of Amazon Prime for homesteaders (e.g., fast shipping) and encourage viewers to make the film a Friday‑night movie night.

Guys, I'm just so excited. I had to get on here.
Let's do a raw, uncut video with you guys.
Just shooting from the hip here. So excited. The Great American Farm Tour documentary is now on Amazon. Amazon, y'all. Amazon made it to the big time, and it was not an easy process to get there. We're on Amazon Prime for free, or folks can get on there and rent it if they don't have Amazon Prime, or even buy it. But I just want to talk to you a little bit about this. I'm so excited for it. If you don't know what the Great America Farm Tour is, we're going to go inside the bus that made the transport our family.
I think—
what's the movie about? Well, look, in short, for dramatic effect, in 10 months we went to every single one of these states, including Alaska and Hawaii. If I were to tell— if you were to say, and we were in an elevator Hey, what's the Great American Farm Tour documentary about, in case you guys don't know? Well, 2 years ago this month we left on that epic journey, and I think it was— I think you can sum it up as— oh, I wish you could smell it in here. Smell the glory. I smell the adventures. It's absolutely amazing. I would say that it's about a family searching possibilities for growing your own food. Yes. Going and visiting backyards, market farms, urban settings, homesteads, and seeing the possibilities that people are doing. We absolutely learned so much. We absolutely implemented so many of the things we learned on this farm. But the other food growing possibilities was actually our place in America. Are we gonna stay here? You know, being family property, we're thinking It's kind of like growing up in a religion. At some point you got to explore for yourself and accept it for yourself. And so that's what the farm tour was about for us, a part of it. It was, is this where we need to settle on this family property, or do we need to settle somewhere else? We sold all our chickens— well, sold or gave away our chickens, cows, gardens, everything. Had some house sitters, farm sitters for the farm. And went with a very open mind. Slept right here. This is bringing back quite the memories. This was our house for 10 months. This was our home. This is a converted school bus. Gosh, we took 14 weeks to make the school bus. What a story there. The people on Kick— we Kickstarted this thing. We pre-sailed the movie with people getting the DVD copy and extras and bonuses, instructional videos with it. We sold that pretty early, and it helped make this happen. This movie— I guess why I'm so excited, one reason I'm so excited is because it's not just me. It's us and the Kickstarters and those who have supported us on the YouTube channel have made this possible. And why it's so exciting is because it's changing the viewer's life. Like, people are getting in there— looks— sounds like we need to replace the battery in that. All right, uh, we get it in there Their viewers are getting in there and it's changing their lives for the good.
They're getting ideas. Guys, you think— of course, the great American farms are the Joel Salatins, the Jill Wingers, the Shea Elliotts. We went to all those. The Paul Gauchys, Back to Eden, Paul Grieve, Primal Pastures. We went to all those.
You name the big—
we even went to Canada. But you name all those people.
But we went to so many small backyards.
And realized what people were doing, were inspired by them growing in small places, doing creative things, working full-time jobs, and still getting it done. Oh, people like Jonathan Dodd doing great services to the community, you know, growing food with juvenile detention, um, youths.
So it's absolutely amazing, so inspirational. I think you—
well, I know you're gonna walk away inspired, really.
Well, You know that we were in a search for our place, but I mean, I've given it away. I'm still here. So I've given away a little bit of the ending, but I think you ought to watch it and see how we came to the conclusion for us staying here.
I mean, seriously, we were way open-minded to it. Even had discussions with realtors.
I mean, we were so open-minded to leaving.
We eyed Maine, we eyed Colorado. We are an hour out of where we are now in North Carolina. So you got to see how I came to my conclusion, and it's going to encourage you.
Whether— you don't have to be in North Carolina to be encouraged by this.
I don't think it's about North Carolina. I think it's about— I don't want to give away too much, so I better not keep going there. It's— you'll be encouraged to do with what you have. Let's just say that. So do go check out the movie. You'll enjoy it. It's Friday, so make it Friday night movie night, Saturday night movie night. If you've got Amazon Prime, you can watch it for free. Amazon Prime also gets you like free 2-day shipping. We use it all the time on the homestead because we don't like to leave the homestead. The whole point of the homestead is to be home as much as possible, so we ship all the time. We have stuff all the time, and then you get to watch anything that's on Amazon Prime, and that's our Friday night habit. It's gonna be so cool, like Tonight is Friday. When we go to pick out a movie, we could search and find or get suggested The Great American Farm Tour. Now guys, go watch it. I'm just asking for this, guys. I'm going to be frank with you. If you guys go and watch this thing and actually spend time there— which I'm not making a lot of money on this thing. I would make more money honestly selling it more as a DVD, extra course bonuses, all that stuff. The money is fractional, but why I'm excited about being on Amazon is that's a new audience. Those are people who aren't on YouTube. Those are people who The Great American Farm Tour is going to come up in suggested videos for them and they're going to watch it. Now, it only comes up in suggested if people are actually watching it, rating it, which by the way, thank you for rating it. We've already had like 32 ratings. Some of you guys found The Great American Farm Tour, you found that it was published before we did.
Are you checking it?
So anything helps, like searching Amazon Prime for The Great American Farm Tour. I've left the link down in the description for the Amazon link. You get on there, you watch it, you star it, review it, share it. All that tells Amazon, oh, people like this, this is a good movie, I'm going to promote it myself. And then the Amazon machine promotes it, guys. And together we fuel this food growing movement. That not only helps ourselves and widens resources for us as more people get into it. It makes a broader community. Because guys, this can be lonely. There's not enough people doing this anymore. We have to travel often distances to find somebody else growing their own food. We feel a little crazy. So we need more people doing this. You guys can help by just watching the movie. Then if you're feeling saucy, share the movie. And then if you're feeling really, really saucy, rate it, write a review. So that's enough. Enjoy your movie night. Go enjoy the movie. I hope you have Prime, you can get it for free. It's on me, the movie night is on me tonight. Go enjoy that. Thank you for sitting through this with me, straight, raw, uncut.
You guys have a great weekend, or great day if you're seeing this later.
It's up, it's up there forever-ish. There's no It goes away. Just go enjoy that thing.
