Hugs, hugs.
They got soccer. Going to play with the men. Come here, hugs, hugs, hugs. All right, be dangerous. I mean, they're driving, they're gonna play soccer. Enjoy yourself, be dangerous. As if telling them to be— I want to say be careful, but as if that's gonna help. I hope they're careful. There's also a place To be a boy and to be dangerous. All right, we've got a list. Here we are, Friday. Sabbath is coming tonight. I smell something. We've got to knock this out. We got a few things to knock out to help us feel restful. We got to do our chores. We got to get another freezer in, empty one of these freezers. Hey, hey, hey, hey! Because I think this one can be a fridge or a freezer because We have not 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7— not 7— 8 apples from the one local organic apple farm. And Beauty has an interesting idea for saving these long term. Oh, you know what we really should do before anything is go check the cabin. Inspector is coming today. Oh, that would just be the Icing on top. This is final plumbing, final gas, and certificate of occupancy. Occupancy. Occupancy. It's over. That's the final one. And our guest cabin will be ready. What, Lily?
What'd you win?
Well, we hopefully— we won the inspection passing. We have a window where we can bring stuff in Sunday and Monday. That would be for a Casa de Chica ladies sleepover. But the thing is, where are your shoes? Shoes. Okay, then let's just get your cowboy boots. We know where those are, and then you wear those. And if we see your rubber boots, you can get those on. Why do you care, Justin? Why do you have to pass? Well, you cannot bring furniture in until you pass, and it would be really nice if we could set up the mattresses in there for our guests. Otherwise, we're gonna have to haul the mattresses over here and then back over there, and it would just be more roomy for a dozen or something odd women and children. I didn't mean the women children are odd. I meant about that many people, some odd. That phrase. Let's go get your cowboy boots. Just wait right here. I literally could have been done with this chore in this time that we are getting ready. Okay, take these out there and put them on. Okay, it's not about the chicken chore, it's about the chidler chore. Hey, before we do anything, let's go double check the gas. The gas yesterday was losing pressure. I fixed it. As far as I know, I seem to have fixed it. But how did it hold all night? Did I fix it? Fix it? Not there, up here. Come on, let's go check that. Because if we don't get that gas, if it doesn't hold 30 pounds of pressure, we don't pass the test. And if we don't pass the test today, Friday, it has to— it would— the next available testing would be Monday. Forget about it. Because I only have Sunday and Monday to help them move this heavy stuff into the cabin. Come on! Floor guy put the final coat on last night. How about this? If this is holding pressure, I'll show you those gleaming floors in celebration. Oh, hey, it's at 30. This is the propane. This— that's air pressure. I don't know what it means, but There it is. Okay, y'all get to poke your head in. We got a bit of landscaping to do, but that has nothing to do with getting us permission to legally go and stay in this house. I want you to see this, this work the beautiful one has done. She didn't do the floors. Let me straighten this out. She orchestrated all this. We had builders and craftsmen do this. Okay, look at this. Is that not nice? Holy moly. Oh, it's so wonderful. You should have seen it before. Austin, do we have a before of this cabin? And then now look at it. Let us know, would you guys be interested in a farm stay experience here? It's something we're thinking about. Join my email newsletter. That's where we're gonna fill that out. I'll put a link down in the description. Hey, come on, come on, come on. Here's the house. I want everybody to see this view. There's your view. Nice, pretty farm view. That's our house. Oh look, wood chips. Come on, get in. Let's go now. Just wait on the inspector and see if we can't pass these tests. He's coming today, we'll be looking out for him. More wood chips. How much is too much wood chips? They said they could just bring chips until the cows come home. Henry, evidence! Let's go get your boots and meet me down there. Okay, nice. As for training Harriet, we looked it up, she's not due till February 1st. Okay, we've got a little bit of time. Our Mighty Man camping trip coming up. I'm thinking let's get through that, then I'll start gentle training her again. I got plenty of time. Maybe I'll do that through December, and for some reason I don't have that collar on there by then, then we'll create a chute, we'll force her through it, we'll get her collar on. They go right to those meat scraps. They've been laying under this. That's not good. We might have to switch them out to help them lay in this egg box. Maybe they are figuring it out. We got 5 in there. This will make it a little easier on them at first, help them train to lay in there. I'm bringing this around to set inside. We gotta bring our feed and put it right here, and then there's our water for soaking it. Just, just being smarter. Let's make chores a little easier. Okay, new freezer. We always have one— well, I like to always have one for backup in case one goes bad. This is everything we've grown, and with 7 freezers, it's not impossible that one goes bad. We can free up our fridge. We have a fridge— well, we have a freezer that could be a freezer or a fridge. Using it as a freezer right now, so we're gonna flip everything into this and use that as a fridge.
Yes!
One more annoying task to get out of the way before we get to what I really want to do is start pack— continue packing for the Mighty Man Camp. You want to go with me to get the couch? You can drive. Come on, it's sunny, it's gonna be warm. You coming with?
It was on. And it almost put the house down. I was throwing it through a fire.
Okay, well don't do a fire while I'm not here. Okay, what made you decide to come with me?
I'll just lift up the other side. Do teamwork. Teamwork.
Teamwork?
Yeah, teamwork. Did you just say teamwork? Yeah. Well, okay, should we catch that chicken? Yeah, she's probably laying eggs in here. I thought I was going to resolve to keep these chickens in, but I don't want to work on that today. Okay. All right, all right. Are you really gonna catch that chicken?
Yeah.
And then you're gonna carry it? Okay, then you're gonna carry it? Okay. All right, carry it. Gotta train them for stage 4, right? Let them boss me around every once in a while. Okay, good. All right, come on. I just carried that chicken, but it doesn't hurt to let him make the decision and have ideas, right? What we got to do next is move the couch that's going in the cabin. It's been in storage. It's, it's, it's got something on it, and we need to vacuum it down. We figured let's do that in the sunshine. How are we going to get that over here, especially without big boys? I think I have an idea. We'll need to take Sally or Salma, whoever has a hitch. I'll let you drive.
Bring that box. Oh, we bring it?
Yeah, bring it. We don't need to leave it outside. You know I love you.
I love you.
You know I like you too. You know that?
No, but without the feeling.
He told me this morning, I don't think I caught it on tape, I'm a farmer. Farmer Henry. Well, let's get in the sun. Let's get in the sun. Here, we could take Salma. She's got a hitch. He said he's gonna back me up. They're good. All right, can you come hold the brake? You got the brake? You got the brake? Yeah. Okay. Oh wow, you backed me up real good. You practically got me right on it. Jonah's refurbished trailer, y'all. Come on, useful for things like this. We just had this old trailer up in the pasture and he totally redid this thing. In my haste, I don't think I latched it.
Oh yeah, I'll try to walk.
Oh no, I didn't shoot.
I'll try to walk, but it's going faster.
Dang it.
Sometimes hurrying is not hurrying.
What happened?
I forgot to shut this on it. Hey, look, is it the boys? Why is it that when your boys get to be teenagers and are extremely helpful, they start having their own life and drift away, and you're getting older and less able? Is that a cruel— is that nature's cruel trick, or is it nature's way of saying you gotta have a bunch of kids? Because now I got these two. Hey, you guys gonna help me in my old age?
Yeah, thank you.
But here's the question. If I'm, if I'm 95 years old and can't wipe my butt, would you do it? Yeah. Oh, okay, we have it on tape. Oh, I don't know if the truck would be easier anyway because look, I think smarter, don't we? Hey, look who's here! I love it, the bro, big bros. Big cushion, here it comes, here it comes. Josiah, can you grab that down from him? Did you guys do the range? No, we can't walk in there. Yeah, you have to. We won't pass inspection. Come on, you gotta just walk in with your socks. I wish you wouldn't jump on that, we're about to clean it. It's that Friday vibe, everybody's excited. It's hard to reel them in. I'm excited too, it's been a big week. Wait, did we camp this week? No, that was last week. We're missing some couch cushions, but I think that's okay because the couch cushions, thank God, you can just unzip them. And wash them. We do have both the couches, which we have to do by hand over there. We have to get this range inside in order to pass inspection. Technically, you're supposed to have all this done before they get here, so you— I think you're supposed to have it all done before you even call. All right, don't stay in here long. It smells great. Plug in the plug. Plug in the plug. And then back it out without scratching the floor.
Cleaning up nice.
The worn couch.
Guess what? The inspector just came by. Let's go see what he says.
We passed! It's all go.
We passed! I know, I'm so excited. How's that feel? We still got work to do. We still got to stage it, but there's so much work there. It's all on us now. It's all in our control. Yeah, nice sunset. Sabbath boob tube going on here. Rebecca got the couches done. Cleaning ladies over there. Rebecca, it's a big victory moving forward with that. It's a Shabbat shalom. What are we gonna do on this Friday night? We're getting wild. We're gonna go to bed early. Happy day. See y'all next week.
