Whoa, what's all that juice? I don't need no grain today. All right, Lily says they need water. Oh wow, yeah, this is completely out of water. We've been putting the male in with the females, but there's been no activity. He is a virgin, so I don't know. At Polyface, they put them in, they breed. You can, you can mark it down and schedule, you know, keep track of it. I'll be honest, we're not really serious about raising meat rabbits. It's kind of Lily's operation. So what if we just put the female in with him for a couple of weeks? I think they would maybe figure it out. That's how we do our bull and cow. That's how we do our— that's how we did Nacho. He's in with the sheep. Another thing, that's not ideal. I mean, we can easily scoop it up. I guess maybe that is— I mean, that's okay because we can easily scoop up that manure and we're putting it on our sacrifice, uh, paddock, which will be a garden. So that's not that bad. I mean, ideally, or another alternative is you could have chickens under this. So this could be up in our front yard if we had a shelter over them. They don't like to get wet. What would you think, Lily, if we just put the female in with the male for a little while? Sure. Is she— what do you think?
Yeah, sure, we could do them right now.
We should make sure that your mom's okay with that. I just covered his manure. We got good water. This is our old, uh, pig, pig shaw that didn't work for pig shaws. This is too light, the pigs moved it. Uh, this will be a good ramlet shelter, which is the little rams. Rebecca about to go.
I'm gonna go see Brianna, take care of Brianna who just had twins.
Wow, just got them home.
Just got them home. You're gonna spend the day I'm gonna go spend some time with her and help.
Okay. Hold babies together.
That's right.
Fun. All right, you guys have fun. Thank you. Jonah's gonna go and help you with Henry. He is. All right. Bye-bye, big man. Bye. Bye-bye, little man.
See you in the evening.
What I might feel is a failure yesterday, not getting them in the luchador ring, the wrestling ring, might actually been a blessing because it'd be kind of cool if we could just keep the sheep separated out in the field and not have to have that luchador ring. This won't work when we have the chickens out here because the chickens would need this paddock. Wouldn't they? And they would eat chicken grain. That's why this won't work in the long run, but it might work for another month until we harvest these guys. Arun set up our— well, he moved it over to new grass. I think we should get the sea monsters then. What do you think, Josiah? It's warm, it's warm today. We are pushing it. First frost date is October 10th. Normally we're done with our We'd like to be done with them by now, but they are like 4 weeks old, so I think they can handle a little bit of frost. What are you gonna do?
Shoot it up.
Okay, go for it. Whoa, we had the drone in the air. Hope that worked. Oh, here they are graduating! Best day ever for these guys. I have to tell you the truth, I'm nervous about this because we lost 40 to cold weather in the spring. You guys got it? We lost 100 to a rat in here before we built this rat-proof brooder. And we eat a lot of chickens, 4 or 5 a week, so we really need this to work. And there's no more time, there's no more chances. Seeing how Flossie and Nacho interact, they always butt heads once or twice when they get introduced to each other every year. Jacob's here. What's the goal today, Jacob?
One-arm swings.
It's just me. Just you. So I get all the attention.
Maybe not the first time ever, but—
So I'm gonna do a one-arm swing today. Okay, first warm-up. 1, 2, 3, 4.
There you go.
And down. Okay, how was it? It was good. Yeah, we just— what do I gotta work on?
Breathing.
That was it. To me, I feel like a champ. Yeah, you should.
That's amazing.
But all the Simple and Sinister folks watching are like, uh, no, no, no. What are they thinking?
No, they're thinking, wow, he's starting out and it looks good.
Okay, good. Now Jacob's got me going beyond our goal. He's gonna have us do a full getup with a weight. I've only been able to do halves. Let's see how it goes.
Very good. All right, come up out of that hand. Rest it. Step around with your foot. Bring your foot over towards the couch.
Very good.
Tuck the toes under and big stand. Drive that kettlebell up towards the sky as much as you can. Try to get a full extension of that elbow as well as you can. All right, look, step back.
Good.
All right, step the foot around. Reach down to the ground with the fist. All right, now right foot out just a smidge more to give you a little bit more room. All right, drag that leg through, sit down.
Very good.
Back on the elbow and then back on your back.
Cool. How'd that feel? Good.
Nice. All right, elbow down.
Not too bad, huh?
Nope.
Very interesting. Over here working on Abundance Plus. Facebook, interesting enough, is down. And has been down for hours. Let's see if I can draw the Facebook logo. Pretty good, huh? Okay, there's Facebook. Right now, if you were to ask— we've done surveys to Abundance Plus— what is y'all's favorite thing about it? It's the community aspect. So far, This is what we've counted on. But as you know, we've gone to Abundance Plus with our video content. We also post these vlogs on Abundance Plus. We have our own show there. We have other shows and documentaries and stuff like that. So that's what I, that's what I do. If any of you wonder what I do for a living, I create content. There's a big problem, big problem. Hey, how's it going?
Hey, it's going good. How are you?
I'm good. Rebecca will be home shortly. The problem with this is the— well, this is not us, so we have no control. Like, this is down. We have no idea. That's one reason. Two, the censorship. Just like on YouTube, there's certain things you can show, there's certain things you can't. And that's no good. And we have a number of people, a number of members, enough to say, hey, do you have an alternative to this? I don't like this. We personally don't like Facebook. We don't use it but for the member Facebook group. We will keep the member Facebook group for those who like it. But I guess what I'm telling you— what am I telling you? I'm telling you we're getting away from Facebook for our member group inside of Abundance Plus, but it'll work just as nicely. You'll be able to use the same login as you have for Abundance Plus, so you won't have to log into another thing. There will be an app available. We just started work on that, guys. Just signed the contract, just made the investment, and I'm just excited to tell you that. And I will say there's gonna be this community aspect, but There's gonna be another feature. Actually, there's gonna be two others by November that you guys are gonna be very excited about. It's too early to like put it out there. We just want to make sure we work out any possible kinks that might be occurring. But I'm very excited. I will say this, it's gonna work hard to creating community and making you feel less lonely in this homestead journey. Look who's back! Mom, you back?
Yes.
Had a good visit with Grandma? We did. How's she doing?
She's doing good.
Are you stealing the show right now? Are you stealing the show with your little bottom two teeth? How'd he do in the car?
He actually did really good.
He did? He did. Well, maybe that's a sign for what's coming as we go to homestead.
I hope so.
Well, I'm cooking breakfast for dinner. But we've got a nice surprise. This is not a Susquehanna leaf blower, which the kids thought it was.
You ready?
We thought, we thought this was a fan sending us a leaf blower. Something much better. Do you guys know what that is? Yeah, come here, put it out, put it out right here. Here, put it out right here. Oh my word, homestead first, homestead first! Oh my word! Flip it over, flip it over. You guys see what that is? Oh, how cool! That's hamburger's hide.
That is so cool.
That is cool.
Daddy loves it.
Is that cool?
Let's get down on it.
Let's get down. Daddy likes it. Or he likes us on the floor. We're all back together, Teddy. Oh, don't pee on it, Teddy.
That's where the knife went through.
All right. Yeah, we didn't do it perfect.
That's all right.
She patched it right here, I think.
Yeah.
This is so cool. Okay, this is for y'all's room.
And Arthur gave me a Home is Wherever I'm With You.
Uh-huh.
So Art and Bree are doing this as a new business venture. So I know things will be coming out soon. Sooner than later on all of this. Um, so stay tuned to their channel for this, but he's gonna give some away and then they're selling them.
And this is their barn.
This is the barn wood from their barn, and it's gorgeous.
Look at Henry, he likes it. He's, he's petting it. Man, this is beautiful. Totally worth it. Way to make use of the entire animal. I like it. I like it. Uh-oh, we'll be burning it up cooking show here in a second. That's probably done. I like it like that.
I like it cooked.
Well, it's not enough. It's only 132. I cooked it like that with these, some of them. Here it is in the room. That goes so well with this barn theme house. That's just us, man. That's how you decorate a homesteader's house, with the animals of our farm. Thank you, Hamburger. We'll remember him forever. You guys will probably fight over who gets this when you grow up. That's wonderful. That, that feels so right right there.
