Did somebody give me a beef jerky and banana and water? Got it going on. Yeah, you getting it? You're so nice. Walk every hour. You got your water? Yeah. All right, you're gonna read your book before you get any TV time. My theory's working. They're leaving the potatoes. They're eating everything but the potato plant. It's getting real close. That's potato plant right there. It's good to do, but it's cool. This can be miserable out in the weather. 2.5 feet. Good morning, Luke. Good morning, farmhand Luke. Just cut it when you get out there and retie it. You got a knife? Yep, I think I have two. Good deal. Oh, Boy Scout. Or three, actually. You count the leather bit, pull it real tight. Hopefully I'll get a mattock for those tougher ones. Did you clear a path to our silo start? Yeah. Josiah, where's our mattock? This, this could work. This is gonna work. I've not used this yet. Meadow Creatures sent me to this. Quite nice. Wow, better than bending over with a mattock. Wow, looking good. So I want you to order some compost if you can. Have them dump it here if I'm not here. I doubt they'll get it to us that fast. We'll cover it, kill the weeds for 2 weeks, then open it, put compost down, and plant our cover— winter cover crop. I like it. That feels incredible. Only one more big job for me to feel completely comfortable before I leave, and that's moving the sheep up at Grandma's. Hey, there's Jonah right there, Beck. He's coming out. He's doing his walk. Look at that, Luke. You can see sweet potatoes poking up. Easy to dig these out now. You should have seen this. This is a sweet potato jungle. Well, now there is one more thing I want to do, and that's get these sheep back to the pasture. We'll do that this morning. Any cucumbers left? Okay, I don't think so. Mom, you still got good Roma tomatoes. Lunch! Hey, should we put him in Sally? There's my socks. There's one of them. Should we put him in Sally? You want to go supervise, or you just want to go back upstairs? What about the car? No, because we're going to the pigs. Oh, maybe you could come down and watch us milk. We better go though, we only got an hour. Yeah, you guys go. The detailer just can't help himself. Well, it's hard to drive. Yeah, just stick my head out the window. Here he comes. Watch out. Back, Luke. Stand back. Okay. Hey, my man, how's it milking, uh, the new cow? She's easy so far. She's a prize. Will she milk just fine from both sides? I don't know, we've never tried it. You want to try it? Sure, try it. She gave me one kick. Try to pick that one up. Nice, moving! Look at you getting around on crutches. No more walker, huh? Look good. Oh nice, you break it out. John, are you going with Yeah, you think you can get in Sally? Uh, I don't really— you want to go in the Suburban? Yeah. Decide, let's put some fences in the Suburban. Before sheep, after sheep. Shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape, shape. You can tell what ones are tame and what ones aren't. Yeah, these are the tame ones. There's the wild ones. Buddy came back over and they all came back over. Sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep. Shake! Come on, shake! He saw that pan. Today's episode of Burn It Up Cooking Show: short ribs. What you making? Making Lily some potatoes. We gotta— we gotta pack, what, 3 full meals, or you gotta feed that one? I need to find out. Organic. You got us an organic? Oh, you have to look at the menu and see if you can eat there. Do they have any meat? They did have meat. Organic or grass-fed? Yeah, but I'm good. They didn't— it was, you know, paired with it. Let's pick it off. It was paired with vegetables. I just have to pick those stinking vegetables off. Oh yeah, that's what you want. You want the sizzle. Salt. How's this for a menu look, Lily? We have bacon, egg, and cheese, grapes for breakfast. Lunch, tomato soup for you and burgers for me. Friday, bacon and eggs, classic breakfast with some blueberries. Lunch, we'll both have burgers. You'll have potatoes with it. And dinner, we'll have a date in town. How about that? We're gonna have a good time. Daddy-daughter trip. It's good. Well, it is the Burn It Up Cooking Show. You got lots of smoke. You're even getting it very in. Put it in the Dutch oven. Put some broth in there. Here. Doesn't matter if it's chicken broth, it could be bone broth, beef broth, whatever. She took it over and it got real smoky, y'all. Got these short ribs in the Dutch oven covered on 250 for 4 hours. Down that guy. Is that done? Bring them on in. Pork rind. Yeah, yeah, they're all done. Get them out there. They're all good. Look at that, looks like our deck's going to be done today. Billy, let's get the big sheep over to the pasture. Should we water this real quick, our cover crop? Yes. It's hot. They've cleared for the sweet potatoes. I'm going out of town tomorrow. Let's get these guys back out in the pasture and they can have their sheep shade. Let them have a sample, See if the babies will come. Yeah, you might have to. Go get them. Go get them. Go get mom. Sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep. Looks like they're hurting pretty good. All right, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep! They don't know about alfalfa yet. These guys sure do. I'm wanting to nurse. No time to nurse, we're on the move! This is so incredibly handy having trained them to alfalfa. No lanes, take them wherever I want to go, pretty much. Big baby's getting heavy, huh? Come on, we got him! They're gonna have their little shade shelter. You guys are awesome, appreciate you so much. I hope she's sensible enough to keep her babies under the shade. Yeah, Lily, the farm is officially ready for our departure with its sprawling suburbs. All right, but down here, what's Steve killing now? What's known as Maryland's Eastern Shore. Okay, have fun. Our time kind of starts now, really. Her iPod is busted. She's kind of gonna need that for audiobooks, movies. You got iPods? IPods. Yeah, iPods. Yeah, they discontinued them. Oh my goodness. Yeah, so they're not available anymore. They got rid of them. Apple did, or Best Buy did? Nope, Apple. Apple stopped making the iPods. So what's the next best thing? Um, if you're wanting to use Apple, if you use like iTunes and stuff for like kids, there's not really a thing for kids other than audiobooks and all that. What do you think about an iPad? That's not so terrible. It's not as convenient because it's it's not as small. Oh, that or a phone that we don't connect. Mom's thinking iPad. I'm kind of thinking iPad. You can draw on it. Yeah, it's better for your video editing. She's been making movies. Yeah, I think it— I think it's probably gonna be better. You can do more with an iPad. I was thinking this was a laptop. That's kind of cool. That's an iPad Pro. You don't need that though. This is the smallest. Uh, maybe this one. Or this one. Do they have any different colors? Those are cases. You're definitely gonna need to get a case. That was easy, huh, Lily? Yeah. Okay, you ready for this trip? Yeah. So what do you guys think? Look, what's everybody think? Isn't this, isn't this cool? Jonah, how do you like it? It's nice. Okay, get out here in the sun in the morning. That's an easy out for you. Oh, we got our chairs back! It's amazing what just a deck can do to just extend the inside out and just help you enjoy the farm a little bit more. Boys, I'm vlogging here. Oh, got your chair. Maybe you can build like a door.
