In this informal, holiday‑themed vlog, two hosts (Speaker A and Speaker B) document the planning, preparation, and execution of a small, rural Christmas parade in Burl Holler. The video opens with the hosts enthusiastically announcing their goal to finally have more spectators than participants. They craft DIY signage for a side‑by‑side trailer, attach candy‑cane decorations, and assemble a mountain board and rope for pulling the float. A central challenge is reviving "Lucky," a 30‑year‑old tractor that serves as the parade’s heart; the hosts troubleshoot a dead battery, a non‑functioning alternator, and use a Leatherman and jerry‑cans to get it running. Throughout, they invite numerous neighbors—Annie, Jonah, Mark, Austin, Henry, Gideon, Butch, Doris—and reference past attempts, flyers, and the desire to outnumber participants. The hosts also pay tribute to the late father (referred to as "Pop" or "Old Boots"), noting his influence on the tradition. The parade proceeds with a mix of participants and spontaneous onlookers, weather‑friendly conditions, and a few surprise strangers. The vlog culminates in the announcement that, for the first time in the parade’s five‑year history, spectators outnumbered participants, marking the event as officially recognized and a community success.

Merry Christmas! We're out in the country, rural, rural. We're throwing the greatest parade no one has ever seen. At least that's what I call it. Hopefully this year we get more spectators than participants. Let's do this.
Look at that.
What are you? Are you a reindeer?
Oh, I'm— reindeers have faces.
Yeah. And what are you?
I'm an elf. Stuff the tape onto the trailer. So this is gonna be one sign on one side. I'm gonna make another one for the other one. I'm just gonna say Merry on this one and Christmas on this one. And then I'm gonna tape it to it. I put that up with a, on a hay bale and I'll tape it and then I'll push that button. Where I'm gonna have the Merry Christmas sign on one side of the trailer, it's gonna be like this on the side that we're going that way, and on our way back on the other side of the trailer, it's gonna say, and Happy New Year. Papa, I need a carabiner. The bumper's in the way, so should I put it down here or should I put it way up here? Uh, or should I put it on the beach?
No, it's probably easier to secure— no, then people can't see. But you could tie it through the grill. You could tie it right here. Yeah, but there's a steel—
look at that.
One candy cane at a time. I like it. We've only got about an hour and a half to prepare for this parade. Decorating Salma the most Christmasy side-by-side we have. Oh, Annie's coming to take part in the parade. Jonah's friends have been invited to this parade. That's not helping our odds, is it? We keep inviting people to come participate in this parade. Therefore, it gets harder and harder to outnumber the actual spectators. Spectators. We've yet to outnumber— the spectators have yet to outnumber us. Maybe it's the year. Maybe it's the year. You think it's the year?
What year?
That the spectators outnumber the parade participants. I don't know.
We got all this.
All right, that's, that's good. One float ready, 3, 4 to go. We gave ourselves a little bit of insurance that Lucky will start this morning. Look. All right, is it showed green?
Yeah.
Okay. Our old tractor Lucky. Yeah, that was Lucky back when I was a teenager. So Lucky is over 30 years old.
We'll need that Leatherman to get the battery back on.
Lucky is the heart of this parade, wouldn't you? Okay, because without—
Last year we had to use the truck.
We did?
Because Lucky didn't start.
Oh my gosh, please Lucky start. Lucky will be the hayride. Well, that's part of the fun. Come on, come with us buddy, come.
This fell off.
It's kind of jerryed on there.
If the battery is full— if the battery's out yesterday, it explains why it didn't run.
Not a sound.
Wait, you're sure?
What did I do wrong?
You didn't connect these!
Okay, well, what the heck? Which one goes to which one? Oh, I don't know, it's just jerry, I guess. This better start. I don't think we have time to call Mark. Although we did invite Mark. He's got a really cool 1935 car. He's also got a Harley-Davidson. Hey, stop banging on that! Not drum roll yet. Come on. Okay, 50/50 chance. Okay, ready? All right, everybody cross your fingers. Drum roll. See, Lucky's alternator doesn't work, so we just have to rely on the battery all the time. It'll start several times and then you gotta charge it. Lucky see our exit. We might be able to move it by hand.
No, I'm going to take it over to the gravel lot cuz the tractor's going to be pulling it. It's going to need the saw on.
Everybody sit down on the hay.
That'd be nice.
We better go get that tractor and get it diesel before it runs out.
Get the trailer in the back. This is the tractor back in the middle.
Henry, you got to get me the mountain board. I'm gonna get pulled behind the float. Henry, where are your shoes?
Look, there was not nails. And this one's gonna have "Have a holly jolly Christmas." And we'll fill in the other side.
Y'all found the mountain board and a rope.
Yeah, I got it.
Thank you, honey.
I got it, Gideon.
I got everything.
And then we can staple it like this.
Okay, yeah. Yep, press it on hard and then pull the trigger. It's hard to pull the trigger. You gonna ride the tractor with me? All right. Old Boots would be smiling down now. My late dad, he'd really enjoy— he said he was piping these vlogs up to heaven. So pop, enjoy your old tractor pulling all these youngins around today. I hesitated to turn it off because, well, her name's Lucky, so you cross your finger always. Yeah, what's the what-ifs that make it fun?
It's gonna be side by side on a tractor.
Well, I think, I think Adam's coming. Mark might come. We have the mountain board. You're gonna be so lame. That's part of the fun. But I hope some other people come then to be in it. Hey, that'd be easier to outnumber the spectators though, wouldn't it? Let's warm it up. It's time, it's time to go. All right, it's not our best Christmas. Greatest parade ever. Oh! We got some riders! We got some riders! Hey, at least we got the weather. There was one year it was 19 degrees. Not one person saw the parade. That's where I get the name. The greatest parade no one ever sees. I think we're having a low turnout for participants today. So we might have a chance to outnumber the viewers. Hey!
These are my friends from around the corner!
Yay! Let's count participants. Austin, as they say Merry Christmas, put up the graphical number. Let's go!
Merry Christmas! Hey, good, how are you? Does that count as a spectator? Is that one spectator? Austin, put on one side of the screen spectator. I love it. Yeah, that's what I do for the kids on Halloween. I— oh, hook up my 20-foot trailer and I throw all kinds of hay bales in them. I load up the whole neighborhood. Oh good.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Did you say it?
Yeah.
Say Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Would you drive Selma? Nobody's driving Selma. You have to have more than 2 vehicles, Papa. Well, who would drive it? I don't want to ask Annie, she's having a good time in the back. I guess I'll drive it and I won't mountain board. Hey, where are you at?
Huh?
We're coming. I know it. I'm gonna turn around and go back.
We were waiting and said we'll just drive it through now.
Who's behind you? Butch and Doris across the street. Hey, I think we're gonna have some spectators. My dad's wife, I think she's got a carload and another car. Hey, we're gonna have a competition here. Say Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas.
All right, shall we go down memory lane? Austin, throw up the past parades. We're just gonna wave in case. I don't see anybody.
We have another participant. Oh, we're on a catnap!
Waiting for nobody. They're not even looking out their window. We put out 80 flyers. Okay, we're off our road, on a more busy road. Oh, we got a newbie over here on the right. Merry Christmas! 3. Merry Christmas! We actually had strangers show up. Oh, look! Candy canes! Oh my gosh, look at this! What is happening? Hey, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
I got good news for everybody. Spectators outnumbered the participants. First time ever. Fifth annual. It's an official parade now. Put it in the paper. We did it! The spectators outnumbered the participants for the first time in Burl Holler Christmas parade history. Thanks for joining us. Merry Christmas, everyone.
