Yeah, okay. So today on Mindset Monday, I am so happy to be back because I've been away. I've been up north, way up in Dryden. I've been doing all the things, jumping off rocks, going in the lake, clearing trees, all kinds of the crazy, crazy stuff. Lots of fun. But it's given me a little more time to read. This is one of the books I've been reading, Brendon Burchard, High Performance Habits. And it reminded me of something that I heard in a podcast that probably two years ago, it might have been Jesse Itzler or someone like that, but what I heard was the person talking about knowledge being power. And that was something that we really latched onto for a long time. And that was something that was so key for me. I remember being in university and knowledge is power was something that I loved. I loved that concept that the more I could learn, the more I could not only empower myself, but the more I could provide to the world or give back and all of these things. So to me, knowledge is power was just such a key value and foundation for me. Over the years, though, I have completely dropped that. Knowledge is not power anymore. And this is so true in our day and age when we take a look at how much information we are inundated with. So it doesn't matter whether it's our Facebook, our social media in general, or what we can look up online, we have at our fingertips more information than the President of the United States had available to them 20 years ago. So right now we can look up so much information. It is so overwhelming. And there are no excuses that because we have all the resources that we need. So if we think of not having something available to us, it's crazy because there's only a lack of resourcefulness, not a lack of resources. So when it comes to knowledge being power, it really loses its impact. It really dissipates and it becomes a passe concept because it doesn't apply to where we are in our day and age. Now, what is power now is clarity. Clarity becomes power. So I'm going to give you a little three step way of how to find clarity. And this could be in whatever you are. It doesn't matter whether it's your family, whether it's your health, whether it's your business, whether it's a direction that you want to change in your life and go a different way. So there are all kinds of ways that you need clarity in your life. So, so three steps we're going to take a look at. And before we do that though, I want to. I'm just checking my notes here. When you think of clarity being power, it's so poignant when you think of how passe knowledge is power has become. And I'm going to give you an example of that. Think of the physician, even a specialist, like a heart surgeon. Think of a physician who's overweight and smokes. You know, that person has all the knowledge in the world about that particular topic, health. Think of the food supplements that are on or, sorry, the food label. So the supplement labels that are on. A lot of our food today we have all the information right in front of us that says what's in the food, how much fat, how much sugar, how many calories. All that's there for us, and yet we've got all that information and yet we still don't have clarity on whether we want to eat it, how much to eat. Sometimes it's just confusing. Another example would be a work group, maybe it's a business. And in that work group there is a group of amazing, intelligent people. And all of these people are together and yet they don't have a clear direction of where to take that business. Another example might be a whole team, a professional team, an Olympic team. And this whole team has an amazing group of superstars. But those superstars don't clearly know their role. And then that team can't go in the direction that they want to go. So there's all sorts of examples where you can think of where there's massive amounts of knowledge. But without clarity, the power dissipates. And that's what we're looking at today. So number one, in order to find clarity, the first step you can do is visualize the future. And when I say visualize the future, see yourself in what you want to see. So there's going to be three main parts to that. Who do you want to be? If you think and have a clear vision of who you want to be, then that is what you set into your future. If you want to be a particular person that is very loving or very kind or very productive or very driven or very, or a combination of those. There's so many ways that you can be. It can be loving, nurturing, giving, high producing, very action based. There's so, so many ways that you can be and you can visualize who you want to be. So who do you want to be? The next part of this in terms of visualizing your future, who do you want to be with? Who you are with determines so much about the value of your life and can really determine the clarity in your life. So who do you want to be? Who do you want to be with and who do you want to serve? Serve? Who can you give to? Who do you want to be using your innate abilities, talent, knowledge? Who do you want to be giving to? So who do you want to be, who do you want to be with and who do you want to be giving to? That's number one in visualizing your future. So number one, visualize your future. Number two, how do you want to feel? This second component is critical for developing clarity. How do you want to feel for your whatever, whatever you're trying to seek clarity in for your family? How do you want to feel in your business? How do you want to feel with the team that you are working with? How do you want to feel with the co workers that you have to spend the majority of your life with? How do you want to feel with the in the environment that you might want to move to? So there's so many ways to feel and you want to discern that primary emotion that you want to have around you. For some people it's joy. For some people it's contentment. For some people it is like a feeling of stimulation and enthusiasm. So how do you want to feel that key feeling that you want from the given situation that you need to find clarity in? So that's what you're taking a look at. And number three, what is important as most people in this group are achievers and you can achieve a lot of things, but it doesn't mean that all of those things are important to you. So really clarifying what is important to you, and this goes back to something we've talked about in the past, which is your values. If you know your top five values and then you can critically and very quickly find what's important to you. So remember that not all of the things that you can achieve are worth achieving. So you want to define what's important to you. So you want in that importance you're looking for alignment. That alignment comes in with your values. So number one, visualize your future. Who do you want to be, who do you want to be with, and who do you want to be serving? Number two, take a look at how you want to feel. What is that key primary feeling that you want to have out of the given situation you're trying to find clarity in? And number three, what is important to you? Not all of the things you can achieve are really what are important to you. Find alignment with your values so that you're doing what is important to you. Those are the three steps to find clarity and then create more power in your life because you're doing and defining what is really, really important to you. Now, if you have done all of those steps, you've gone through all of that, and it's a situation where you still feel stuck, stuck, then the key step from there is taking action. Because from there, even if you take shitty action and it's not the thing that takes you in the direction you want to go, then that's a beautiful thing, because then you found out that that's not the direction you want to go. Because typically people are stuck because they're afraid to make a decision and have it be the wrong one. So if you're really stuck and you've already gone through that clarity exercise, then all you have to do is take an action. And it doesn't matter if it's the right or wrong action. All that matters is that you take action. Because then you're going to learn that, oh, I took the wrong action, then I guess I got to go the other way. So if you're still really stuck, take that action. I'm going to give you an example of a client of mine, and this is a person who collected and collected and collected knowledge over years. So they took extra courses, they got educated with another degree. They kept expanding their experiences in their different work environments. And as they expanded and as they grew, they got better and better job opportunities and different ones that they took action on, and they accepted different contracts. And in doing so, that gave them even more experience and more knowledge and more ability and more capability that people wanted to draw from. And then came the problem. The problem was, is that they had so many opportunities coming at them that were tantalizing opportunities they couldn't have dreamed of 10 years ago. And those opportunities are sitting right on their lap, and they don't know what to do because there's so many things coming at them. They don't know where to make the decision because they want to say yes to all of them. And that is where that step, that key step three, finding out what is important to you, making sure it's aligned with your values, then you know what to say no to. And then it becomes instead of an act of saying yes and consuming and more knowledge and taking on more things, it becomes an act of saying no because you're clear on what's important to you. And that's when you have clarity. And that's when clarity truly becomes power, because you know exactly what to say no to. Now I'm seeing more and more people who have more and more information and more and more opportunity because they've gotten better and better and better, elevated their abilities at what they can do. So more opportunities come in and they're going to have to start saying no. Even if so many, there might be opportunities that they're saying no to that five years ago or two years ago, they never would have even hoped to. To have that opportunity. So hopefully this little task gives you amazing clarity. If you find value in this, don't be afraid to invite somebody into this group, because if you are in this group, then I trust you to be able to invite someone else to this group as well. So know that you have that ability to do that. I am very selective as to who is in this group, so it's not going to be just anyone. But I do trust you to invite someone who you think would find value. And this is your clarity for this week. I hope this task allows you to get clear on not only the little things about your day and what you choose in your day, but those big picture things. Whether you take on that contract, whether you go to that team, whether you take on that new job, whether you are moving to a different city or whatever it is, whether you're taking on that new health challenge. Challenge. So I hope this really makes that difference for you and defines and gives you clarity and thereby you create more power in your life. Have a fantastic day, guys. Happy Monday. And I will see you next time on mindset Monday.
