Yeah, we're on. Hey, hey, hey, everybody. This is Mindset Monday, and today we are talking about what's really driving your life. Life. And this is stemming from an experience I've had with a couple clients recently. And it's surprising to me because it's not coming up as obvious as to why decisions are being made. So I'm going to let you know what this looks like in just a moment. But first of all, happy Monday. I hope everybody had a fantastic long weekend last weekend and that you're really, really anchoring into living your best life this summer. So you're doing the experiences. You're completing that bucket list of what, you know, you wanted to do. So the reason this topic came up is because I've had a couple of clients who have said some things lately that surprised me coming from them, because these are people who are rock stars. These are people who are leaders. These are people who manage other people, influence other people, have a high impact on other people's lives. So. So then I hear this one day that a particular person is struggling with deciding how to structure their schedule and actually take a day of work from home. And it was a real struggle to actually do and book that day of work from home instead of being in an office or traveling different places. And in looking at that deeper, when we take a look at that, we usually discover that it's not that we don't want to make that decision. Let's use the example of working from home. But what's holding us back from that decision is what other people will think. And I've gone through this myself. What would other people think if I was working from home? They're thinking that I'm not working. They're thinking that I'm not there for them. They're thinking that I'm not doing as much of the activity that I ordinarily do. But the problem that comes in with this is that it sneaks in in more and more and more places. And what we realize is that we're actually living our lives being dictated by what other people think that we should be doing. But here's the bigger problem. We don't even know what other people think. We're making up what other people thinking, and then we're doing a massive disservice. So for in this particular, in this particular instance, we're doing a disservice not only to ourselves and living our best life, but we're setting an example for other people that they shouldn't be living their best lives. Especially if we're an influencer, a manager, a leader on a team, different people that look up to us, or we're a mentor to other people. So if we keep setting this bar that says, oh, well, I'm going to never take a break or I'm going to do all these things because I think that other people will be judging me if I do those things. But the reality is that they would celebrate if you were living your best life. Many of them will. And if they don't, you don't want them in your life or you want to distance yourself from them if they're not celebrating your best life. So another scenario very, very similar to this is that a lot of the clients I work with work very, very hard. And in doing so, they get reward from working very hard, but then have this guilt around taking time off or booking time that's really there for their recovery or serving themselves. I've seen athletes over train in this manner over and over again because they have guilt or think they're going to lose everything that they've earned if they step away from the work that they've been doing. And that's never, never the case. So in this case, if we look at, okay, what do other people, what are other people's opinions or what are other people thinking, Then it comes down to what we're programmed to do. Are we just following our programming in a way that doesn't serve us? So we're going to work and work and work, and we won't even take that time off. I've had several clients and seen several athletes not tap into vacation time or recovery time time that is supposed to be time to actually recover, rejuvenate and replenish and recover and regenerate and then not taking that time, instead pushing through and doing more. And there's usually what I find in these cases is that, and this has been true for myself as well, is that it's not just a matter of worrying about what other people think, but then it's even worse in that we're judging ourselves, our own self worth, that we're not worth taking that actual break, or we're acting out of fear, that we're going to lose ground if we do take that break, or other people will judge us, that we're not working hard because that's part of our identity. So it's all stemming back around to fear or self worth instead of living into what you know is going to be vibrant and amazing for you. But instead we want to cloud it with guilt. We want to cloud it with judging ourselves or thinking that other people are judging us when reality is we have no idea what they're thinking. Or we've simply been programmed to do this for so freaking long that we don't take a step back and say, do I really want to work away from home every single day of the week? Do I really want to skip over my vacation? Do I really want to not take advantage of my recovery week so that I can actually perform better and be stronger in the following week? And we're not taking that step back and taking a look at what's actually happening. We're either following what we think other people think, what we're judging on ourselves, or we're following our old programming. So the mindset Monday today is really to take that step back and understand that taking that break or working from home or having the recovery week from training is not only serving us and our best life, but it's also serving all those other people that are looking to us as an example. Looking to us as a manager, as a influencer, as a coach, as a friend, as a leader, as a parent. They're looking to you for the example of how to treat yourself best because they're going to follow that example. So I know that there are a ton of people in this group who are leaders. Their parents, their business owners, their lawyers and doctors, and all sorts of people who have impact. Maybe teachers, maybe friends. Friends. And what you need to understand is that making sure that you're not allowing what you think other people think to influence you. Allow what you really want your best life to look like to be the biggest influence of your actions, not this imaginary land of what other people might think. So that today is your mindset. Take a look at what your heart says, not what you're creating that other people think. Don't let other people lead your life. You are the leader of your life. You create your own life. And when you create your own life, then you have the path that you're destined to be on. Instead of creating what other people are thinking and allowing that to influence your life. Have a fantastic day, guys. I hope this finds you well. And I will see you next week on mindset Monday. I'll see you tomorrow on a little truth bomb. Have a great day.
