Well, hello, hello, hello. Happy Monday, everyone. Here we are for another episode of Mind Set Monday, and we are continuing on with our acronym for team. This is our culture creation acronym, one that can be used for workplace, for sports, teams, for family, and the last one we did, we talked about together. T is together for the first part of team, and today we're doing the E. The E is empowering. So for empower, if I'm going to dive into the definition here for just a second, one part of the definition of empower is to make someone stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. So it's really personal power and one person enabling that in another or in multiple other people. So empower. I'm going to get more specific on what it means to us when it comes to the empowered team. So the E for empower is more along the lines of speaking courageously. Speaking courageously in the sense of owning your own voice, not hiding, but being able to speak courageously because it's a safe place, because there's no worry for what is being said. So when we speak courageously, we're okay with having our own opinion and okay with hearing other people's opinions. So it's authentic and it's vulnerable being able to say what is authentic to you without worrying that someone else is going to jump all over it. So speaking courageously is one of the key things in the empower portion of our team culture. Another is to be committed to self and one another. This really aligns powerfully with the definition of empower. To make someone stronger, more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. So committed to oneself and one another means supporting each other. But not just supporting each other. Challenging one another, learning from each other, creating personal power and ownership or responsibility personally. So when you think of this, men and women do this very differently. So when we look at being committed to oneself and one another, women tend to want to support each other. But that can mean that if somebody is having a hard time with another person or complaining about someone else, women will have the tendency to support that, support the complaining, support the hard time, support whatever the situation is. Without necessarily challenging the person. Men will tend to challenge someone else more often than not. So these are two very different. And I don't want to say Men and women, because it's not specific to gender, it's specific, specific to a masculine or a feminine energy. And I'm not saying at all that women or men don't do the complete opposite, because any gender, no matter what gender anyone chooses to identify with, can have masculine energy and can have feminine energy and typically have both of those energies. All of us have one and the other. We just have one that's more dominant or that we use more often, more frequently. We've been practiced in being more frequently. So the supporting one another tends to be more of a feminine energy. The challenging each other tends to be more of a masculine energy. And there's nothing wrong with either. However, in being committed to self and committed to one another, it encompasses both. It's not just being in a supportive role, it's also being in a challenging role so that you really, really have someone else's back, which is part of the together in the team, in the T for team. So being committed to yourself and one another also means learning from each other. If we're not learning from each other, we're also doing each other a disservice. So this is why it's part of empowering, having our own responsibility and learning from other people. We can't possibly grow or be in our best personal power if we're not adding to what we already know. So the last part of empower is lifting each other, truly elevating another person. And this comes in the form of praise, encouragement, acknowledgement, and love. So consider any of the entities that you're involved in, whether it's your family or even with yourself, this entity called self, this one person, so yourself, your family, your workplace, consider yourself. Are the actions of praise, encouragement, acknowledgement, and love? Are those actions present in those environments? Are they present for yourself? Are they present in your closest relationships? Are they present in your work environment? What the research shows us is that the ratio of positive to negative within any sort of relationship is 5 to 1. Just to have a functional relationship, meaning that the acknowledgement and the praise and the encouragement, the acts of love or the. The vocalizations of love, all of those need to be five happening five times to the one time that perhaps a criticism or a negative comment is uttered. So that holds true for yourself, that holds true for your relationships with other people, especially in your relationships that are intimate partnerships. But it will also hold true in work relationships for us to have a highly functioning relationship with someone else in whatever environment. That 5 to 1 ratio is a must. And for an optimal for an outstanding marriage, Perhaps it's a 20 to 1 ratio and that's what the research shows. So for empowering, for empowering yourself and empowering others, the E in team of empower, it's a critical portion for culture. Whatever culture that you're in, if this is missing, if this empower is missing, then you're not going to have the kind of chemistry and culture that really lifts each other up. You're not going to have the kind of culture that supports that challenges and does so in a safe environment. So this is a key, key part of creating the kind of culture that is going to continue to build, continue to create the kind of outcomes that everyone feels really fulfilled with versus creating the kind of outcomes that are outcomes, but they fall flat because there's not as much real personal engagement, authenticity or real connectedness. And that's what comes from empowering others. When we help others be their best, when we have each other's backs, when we show other people how great they actually are, that's creating a culture that has empowerment. And that's what we want to do. So for this Monday, consider your week. Take a look in your week. Take a look at who you engage with. Take a look at the times that you're also serving your own needs and look at where you can empower yourself and empower others in all of those situations. And the easiest way to do so is via that support. But also challenging by being authentic yet vulnerable and making sure that those actions of positivity, the praise, the encouragement, the acknowledgement, the love that all of those acts are happening on a 5 to 1 ratio at the very minimum in order to have great function and a 20 to 1 in order to have optimal relationships. So that's your Empowered Mindset Monday. I can't say it today. Mindset Monday. Use it to create empowerment in your week going forward. Use it to create the culture that you really want to thrive in. Have a beautiful rest of your day and a beautiful week.
