Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to Mindset Monday. We have such a cool topic today. It is. This is the long version of it. It's if you want something bad enough, you'll find a way. And this is something that I've said many a time about teenagers, high school students. If you remember back in that time, you really wanted something, you would find a way to make it happen. So you really wanted to go to that party or you really wanted to meet that one person, whatever it was. In high school, if you wanted something bad enough, you'd find a way. You couldn't get a ride to the mall or wherever you wanted to go. That's exactly how my kids learned to ride the bus, is because they wanted to get somewhere, to their friend's house or to the mall, and they got creative to be able to find a way to get there when we couldn't drive them. So typically, this holds true for all of us. However, we've lost some of the desire, so we don't take some of that uncomfortable action to get to where we want to go. So in today's Mindset Monday, we're breaking down this sentence, this idea, this thought of wanting something badly enough to find a way into four words. And it's this urgent desire leads to creative action. When somebody wants something so badly, it's got this urgency to it, that's the bad in it, the wanting it bad. That's the urgent desire. And that leads to not just action, not any action, not, you know, normal action, not all the things you've already done, but creative action, looking at a different angle, thinking of something else, finding another way to do something that is creative action. So it's urgent desire leads to creative action. Urgent desire leads to creative action. So if you aren't taking action in something in your life, then what's missing is the urgency missing? Is the desire not there. Is the creativity low? Is the action non existent? Because chances are you can break it down to one of those four things. If you're not actually taking action, getting what you want, if there's a missing somewhere in your life, you can usually find the cause in one of those four words. You don't want it bad enough, it's not urgent, the desire isn't there, you don't really want it. The action isn't being taken. There's no action. Or you're doing the same thing, there's no creativity. So I'm going to give you an example of this, of the story that happened to us. A few years back. We purchased a house in Sayulita, Mexico. Now this took a lot in and of itself, but once we had the house, the vision was to have it as a vacation space for our family. We had a vision of taking our five kids, traveling to different places, having them experience different cultures, having them go to incredible adventures. This was our vision for vacations. And the reality was with seven of us, we simply couldn't afford all of the plane tickets, the travel to all different places. We couldn't afford all the accommodations. And yet we really wanted to have our family have this experience of different cultures and amazing, amazing adventures. So the solution, it seemed at the time that could be a really amazing option. Not only as a investment property, but also a landing pad for us to be able to get all of us together and have a vacation altogether. And that's what the vision was in buying this house in Mexico. The only problem was that there was one bedroom, not three bedrooms, and we needed more space, but there was tons or more bedrooms. There was tons of space, but the bedrooms weren't there. So my vision was to create this three bedroom space out of the area that we had with this massive garage that we could make two bedrooms into easily and still have more garage left. Make this thing happen. We'd all go there and vacation there. And so step one was actually getting this construction going. But how was I going to do that when I was in Canada and the construction would be in Mexico? So I got creative. I talked to different contractors, I explored what other people had done, I took a look at pricing. I had so many things going on. I got more creative about construction and project planning than I ever had around any sort of real estate investment or challenge that I'd had in the past. And I did all the things. And finally, after a lot of work, a lot of effort, I got two bedrooms built and then the vision was to bring our family for two weeks for Christmas to the house, to have us all together on a vacation. Now, this was saving and putting every little extra dollar aside, because at the time, we just didn't have the money to take all of us on all the plane tickets. And so it was a big endeavor. And then the summer, about six months before we were to go, our sewer line broke to our house. And it meant a $5,000 repair. And I was crushed. I was convinced that this meant that I was in tears. I was convinced that this meant we weren't gonna actually go on our incredible vacation, because we wouldn't. I finally got the rooms built. I finally had the house ready. I was all set to do this. And then we wouldn't have the funds for the plane ticket. Now, like you've heard already, like I've said already, if you have an urgent desire, then it leads to creative action. And so I got beyond my pity party, wiped my tears and had several months to go and just buckled down harder. I saved more. Instead of Christmas presents from family members for the kids, we asked for something to contribute to their Mexico vacation. And it all came together. And we got our whole family, all seven of us, to our house with three bedrooms in Mexico. And, you know, things were incredible on the trip, Some things went wrong. But we had the most incredible experience that finally came to fruition because of four things. Urgent desire, creative action. It's the urgency, the desire, the creativity, and the action that made that ultimately happen. And I have example after example after example of these types of things in my life because of that one thing. If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way. I just presented over a week ago to some young athletes and brought this to their attention. And as soon as I said it, they got it. Because they knew of something in their life that they had done and. And gotten a little creative with and made it happen. And all we need to do is reinforce that a little more in our lives. We just need to look back and stack all those times. Think of multiple times where you've gotten creative and made something happen. And when we stack a whole bunch of those experiences, we really understand what we're capable of. And when we come up against something that seems like it's not going our way or we're not going to get what we want, we can get creative. We can turn that thing that's not working into greater creativity and make it happen in our favor. In that experience and what we accomplished in getting our whole family to Mexico. I learned so much about construction. I had so much more confidence in what was possible, and my vision of having our family come back over and over every year didn't come to fruition. It wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be. Sometimes we've envisioned something and it looks a certain way, but it doesn't actually pan out that way. What I didn't include in my vision was how much competitive sport all the kids were in and how many major events that as they got older, they didn't want to miss. So it was hard to actually get us all out on a holiday in the wintertime like it had been on that first trip. So on this mindset Monday, the intention for you to set into your week is take a look. What do you really want badly and what do you need in order to get that? To make that happen? Do you need a little more creativity? Do you need a little more push and urgency? Do you need some accountability? But ultimately, what's it going to take for you to take more action? And that is what you can look at for this week and is your urgent desire to go towards creative action. What this week needs a little more of a nudge so that you could take the action that's going to get you exactly where you want to go. Stay powerful. Keep empowering yourself by stacking that evidence, all those memories of what you're capable of so so that you can keep going. Go for it everyone. Have a fantastic week and a beautiful Monday.
