A Recap Of The PelviBiz Live Experience And Why YOU Should Attend The Next Event
20 Nov 2025 · 5 min
Dr. Kelly Alhooie (host/founder of Pelvi Biz and OrthoPelvic Physical Therapy) reviews the PelviBiz in-person event held in Tampa: planning logistics (Airbnb venue, travel and baggage, rental car issues, setup, decor, catering), on-site activities (cold plunge, beach games, yoga/acro, dance party), and community outcomes (many attendees quitting jobs, hiring staff, increased collaboration and business growth). Kelly emphasizes a cozy, collaborative event format over formal conferences, shares behind-the-scenes challenges and wins, and promotes an upcoming free community gathering in San Diego during CSM. The episode positions PelviBiz as a practical, community-focused accelerator for pelvic health PTs/OTs seeking business growth and time freedom.

Now let's get into today's episode. What's up guys? Welcome to Pelviz Podcast. I'm your host, Kelli Alhui. Today I'm just gonna do a little recap of Pelvibiz, the event we just had in Tampa, Florida for all pelvic health, PTs, OTs, PTAs, massage therapists, students. I mean we had multiple different disciplinaries there and it was just freaking epic. I couldn't be more thankful. I'm so happy, you know, how everything kind of turned out and I just gonna kind of give the behind the scenes of what it's like to throw an event like Pelvibiz. So this is our second time doing Pelvi Biz. It's only me and my assistant Steph. And Steph was actually an old patient of mine and she just volunteered. She's like, Kelly, I will help you, you know, start starting with these events. And now she's my go to girl to be at these events. So it's just crazy how it's just such a small world. So Steph has actually been with me from the beginning of when I treated her, when I worked for someone else, then she came on with me with my own company, then she worked at Orthopelvic, then now she does the event stuff for me. So it has been, she's been my girl, she's hung in there with me and I just appreciate her. So here's the recap. So a month before Pelv, I have to go down to Tampa. I have to make sure everything's good. I have to, you know, I Had to pre rent out the venue before the venue, and it was an Airbnb. So I go down, rent out the venue. I also bring down, like, five or six suitcases of stuff. And then I also ship things down there as well from, like, you know, Amazon and all that kind of stuff. Then what I have to do is a month later, when the actual event is we. I then go down there, and again, I have like five or six suitcases. Have to fly that down. By the way, there is an extra baggage fee, just so you guys know. If it's over three bags, you have to pay like 300 a bag. Something crazy. But whatever, it's worth it. So, just FYI. And we. It's so interesting. So, okay, the event was Saturday. No, Friday. Saturday, Sunday. Okay. I and Steph flew down on Monday. And so we got there, we have all these suitcases. We go to get our rental car, and they're like, you don't have a rental car? Now, mind you guys, just remember this. Two weeks before this, a massive hurricane came through and was going to take out Tampa, but then went a little bit south. However, all the rental cars were gone because the only airport you could fly into was Tampa. And so people are flying into Tampa, getting a rental car and going down to Fort Myers. So when they told us that we didn't have a rental car, we were like, okay, great. Now what do we do? So we. Steph talked to this one lady. This lady wasn't budging. I was like, okay, Steph, stay here. I'm gonna go talk to this other lady. So I talked to this other lady, and, you know, depending on people's moods, they decide to pull strings or not for you. And this lady thankfully decided to pull some strings for us and saved us a car, which I'm very thankful for. So we got the car. We're like, all right, first hiccup expected, right? When you throw these events, it's just like a wedding. When you throw these events, anything that.
Can go wrong and will go wrong probably will go wrong.
So just expect that, okay? And if it doesn't, kudos. We have a big win. All right, so then we get to the Airbnb. We immediately start rearranging the entire house. So we threw Pelvi Biz. I decided to throw Pelvi Biz at an Airbnb rather than at an office because I wanted to make it more of a cozy vibe. I want everyone to be like, really, really chill. And it just be like, get up, get water, go to the bathroom, like, I just. That's the vibe of my event. I don't want it to be stiff. I don't want to put on this, like, massive conference where you're just, I'm speaking and everyone's listening to me. I want it to be such a collaborative thing because I really, truly feel that the more that we can actually talk to each other, especially in person, we get very little opportunity of that. So when we can actually talk to each other in person and start putting our minds together, that's where the magic happens. Not me speaking and giving advice. So I've just really realized that. And so I want to do more events like this that are cozy, that we can just rent out airbnbs and just have a relaxed vibe feel in them and really just, like, learn. So, you know, going forward, that's really what I'm going to be doing. And who knows, I may even teach people how to do event planning for big events, because it's my jam and I absolutely love it. So anyways, we get to the Airbnb rearrange everything, and I even had to bring all the bedding in. I had to bring all the beds in. I had all my mastermind stay at the house as well. So that was fun. It's like a slumber party, like, old school. So I flew all the air mattresses and stuff down, all the sheets, pillows, blankets, all the things. So we immediately went to work to set that up, because you just kind of take a guess of, like, I think this will fit. I don't know if this will fit. How many outlets do we have? Can people plug their phones in? You know, like, where do we put all their swag? We get tons of swag for these events. Hats, shirts, water bottles, fanny packs. Like, we get lots of swag. Where do we put all that? Like, does everyone have a refrigerator that they can use? What about bathrooms? Like, there's so much planning into these events. And I got everyone, like, little nightstands and I put, like, a little snack on there and. And then eye masks just in case people have trouble falling asleep. And then face mask I put on there just as, like, a nice, warm, welcoming gift. Because I always think it's so fun to just, you know, surprise people when they show up and not. Not do anything with what they're expecting. So I always think that's fun. So we did all that. Then I had to hire a company to come in and do, like, boho chic. So we did like the whole picnic theme, like, you see typically on beaches. But I did it inside. And because, again, I wanted it, like, cozy, relaxed vibe. So we had cushion pillows everywhere with, like, small tables. We did a whole balloon arch. We just hooked up our computer to the massive TV that they had there. And that's how, you know, I kind of did presentations. I shipped a podium down there and I had zoom working from my second iPhone and ta da. That was the event space. We also did a cold plunge theme for this event compared to last one was I wanted it to be more of events inside the event that would actually challenge the people to see if people are willing to grow. And it's actually so interesting. The people, like when we did the cold plunge, okay, we had over, I think it was 20 bags of ice, guys. 20 bags of ice. This thing was really cold. And the people that are the first ones willing to go into that ice plunge 100% will have successful businesses. I know it's. I know it. And they didn't know this, you know, And I mean, I'm just thinking about it after the fact. But those people that took the initiative to say, hey, I'm going to go first or I'm going to go second, third, those people will be successful. And the reason why is because they are the first ones. Number one, they're the first ones willing to do the thing that's very hard. Number two, they're the ones that are willing to do the uncomfortable thing, even though many people around them don't want to do that uncomfortable thing. So that immediately shows me, wow, these people are going to succeed in business. And it's just so cool. So we did the cold plunge. We did a vulva sac race on the beach where you had to work together with partners to be able to get down around the cone and then come back. So that was super fun. You know, I saw who was competitive. It wasn't someone I was partnered with. She was so competitive. I mean, I'm competitive, but, like, she was so competitive. She was just dragging me down the beach. And I was like, hold on, wait. Because our legs were tied together in the vulva outfit. So imagine that on the beach. It was hilarious. Oh, we did a pelvis toss, you know, like old school, where you throw it and then if you catch it, you back up a little bit more. So that was pretty fun. I won that, by the way, so that's cool. Me and Amanda did. So that was fun. We did some yoga on the beach, some acro. Acro was really symbolic of being able to lift each other up and support each other. I found that to be just really fun. And we were able to do handstands on the beach. It was so fun. And most of us that never could do a handstand could, because our yoga instructor really guided us and showed us, like, how we can actually do this to, you know, do a handstand without falling and breaking our neck. So that was great. So, you know, the event was amazing. There was hiccups. I mean, the hiccups were. This was crazy. We. 24 hours before we plan to go out to eat, which is Friday night, so everyone flies in Friday night, we go out to eat. We had planned to go out to eat, but our restaurant reservation got canceled, and we didn't have a restaurant. So, I mean, we are. Steph and I are literally calling probably a good 25 places. Remember, we have 30 people. What restaurant is going to take 30 people? So the only person at this time that actually said yes to us was if we ran out a ballroom and spent a minimum of thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. And I was like, steph, at this point, we may have to just pull the trigger and do that. And she was like, no, no, no. We're gonna find a restaurant. So luckily for her, she called our mom and figured out a restaurant we can get to. And we were like, all right, we're taking the bus down there. The bus shows up, guys. This bus is like, what the NBA, like, basketball team goes on, like, one of those fancy coach buses. I was not expecting that. But I guess because we had more people, they had. That was the only bus that could hold all this thing pulls up in the neighborhood. And that was kind of a problem because it couldn't really pull into many spots. But the guy was so nice. He made everything work. And we got to see the sunset on the beach. That was amazing. And take some awesome sunset pictures. So that was pretty cool. But, yeah, I mean. And Greg Todd spoke at our event. My mentor. So that was pretty cool. Yeah, it was just so, so much fun just having every single person together and us seriously be able to sit there and collaborate. I think that was the really big positive about the event space Airbnb, was that we were so, like, kind of on top of each other that we really were able to collaborate a lot and put our heads together and be able to come up with new ideas and thinking. We really hit marketing and sales hard. So that was something that was, you know, really good, because I feel like everyone needs more patience and they need to learn how to do sales, especially with, like, packages and just how to be more comfortable with that. So we did that. And the second night we had a. We catered in, so that was good. We didn't have to worry about going anywhere. We had a dance party. We're always trying to have these teachers teach us how to get low and pop our booties. So that's really fun. I mean, who doesn't love a good dance party? So we had a great time and it was just. Yeah, it was just so amazing to have everyone together and everyone just hear everyone's stories and their success. Success stories. Every single person in my mastermind, from the first event to now, this event, which was six months in between each other, every single person was able to quit their job. That is an epic feat. I mean, that means that everyone is pushing it. And currently right now, we have over half of them now hiring their first or their second employee. So it's pretty cool to see the pelvis movement and just a group of female women entrepreneurs just like push forward, break every boundaries, be able to be a mom, be able to own a business, be able to do all the things and still be thriving to their main goal. Whether or not that's, you know, having time back with their kids, or whether or not that's getting this house or whether or not that's just taking care of themselves, like whatever it may be, people really striving towards their goals. So it's just been so fun and I cannot wait. We actually have. It's not a pelvibiz event, but it's a community event coming up. Okay. And it is in San Diego. It's the week of csm. It's Thursday night. Amanda Olson and I from Intimate Rose are collaborating and we're putting it together. It is literally a 12 minute walk from the convention center right in the heart of San Diego downtown. And it's 7:00pm on Thursday night for all pelvic health, PTSD, PTS, OTs, PTAs. You know, anyone that is basically a female entrepreneur, or not even. You don't even have to be an entrepreneur. Just in the world of, you know, just pelvic health. Like, come join us. Seriously, come join us. It's going to be a great community. I think we already have 50 people signed up already for it, so spots are limited, so make sure you grab your spot. We'll put it in the show notes below. But it's where I just want us all to. It's free, by the way. It's completely free. I want us all just come together, collaborate talk to each other. No one is doing this. And I love, love, love connecting people. It is my jam. I think there's so much to be said when you can connect with someone and we can learn so much from each other. So that is what this event is about. So take advantage of that because I, A, I don't ever normally put on a free event and B, you know, this is something that's just special. It's in a special place. I love San Diego and I thought, you know what, why don't I do this for everyone and you know, have everyone come together and collaborate, talk, connect. You guys can cross refer to each other. If you have problems you need to solve. It's a great way to be like, hey, I know this person, I know this person. The more people you know, the better. So come to the event guys. Grab your spot below and hopefully this is a great summary of how Pelviz went and all the behind the scenes to it. It is a big feat. It takes probably about, you know, four months plus to plan so every single day just, you know, chipping away at it. But yeah, it's so fun and I love doing it and there will be more. So just be on the lookout for that. Hopefully. You guys have a great day. Bye guys.
