How Healthcare Became a Business, Not a Service

A solo motivational talk (Kelly Alhooie) in which the speaker recounts running a brick-and-mortar business and a pelvic-floor coaching business, experiencing severe burnout, then selling the brick-and-mortar and relocating to California. The speaker describes reclaiming authentic identity, restoring energy, and offers concrete advice: hire a coach, listen to your intuition, distinguish who you are from what you do, and build daily habits that support sustainable growth and avoid burnout.

I'll tell you guys a story today that I really think will maybe change your life or change maybe the way you think. About two years ago, I was handling my brick and mortar, and I was also handling pelvi biz, where I was helping pelvic floor therapists really progress in their businesses. And we had massive results on both ends. That being said, I looked at that as such a win. But here's what no one knew. I was so tired inside. I was so done with everything. And I honestly was like, if everyone walks away today, I'd actually be happy. And that's the truth. And I'm saying this because I really want you guys to understand the transformation that has to have to be had when you're trying to do amazing things. And for me, at that moment and at that level, I had so much going on. There was just so many moving parts. There were so many punches coming from every which way. And I just handled it the best I could. But the reality was I wasn't growing, was dying. I wasn't really giving anyone my attention. I was just reacting to every situation. I wasn't studying, I wasn't taking care of myself. I wasn't reinvesting in myself. Yes, I had a mentor at the time, but I wasn't like, heavily. I just don't normally have one mentor. I have many mentors, and I was just sticking with one mentor. And, you know, I wasn't really, really investing. And now being on the other side of selling my brick and mortar and living true, authentic life of who for many years I knew I wanted to be and who I believed I was meant to be, but was too scared to let it go because it definitely supported my lifestyle, I can tell you that. But when I became unscared and when I just said and the pain got so bad and I said, that's it. I have to make a decision today. Am I going to go all in or not? And I heard one speaker on a stage and I said, he's talking to me. I'm going to call my mom, tell her what I'm going to do. And I did it. And I said, I have to make a change today. And that just got the ball rolling. The ball started going very, very quickly. And make a long story short, three months later, I'm here full time in California, truly living the authentic version of who I am. Meaning I could take care of myself. Now I get to dress up. I get to be super, super happy and energized. I can't tell you the difference of energy level from that situation to this situation. I am becoming a brand new person. I am becoming someone that is like 15 years old, meaning I can outrun most people. I'm just being honest because the energy that I have from letting something go that did not align authentically with me, no matter what, no matter if it was supporting your whole lifestyle, no matter if you are originally liked it and now you don't like that, is this is stepping into truly who you are, like it truly is. And the lesson here is, number one, if you kind of feel lost and you need help figuring that out, bring on a coach. Bring on a coach. Or listen to your freaking intuition and or do both. Bring on a coach. Try to figure it out and then listen to your intuition. Your intuition is always right. No matter whatever anyone says, whether or not your parents say it, whatever, your intuition is always right. So just remember that. Okay? And the other lesson I would say here is start asking yourself, who am I? Not what you do, but deeply who you are. And every single day try to live the most authentic life of who you actually are, not what you do. And when you can step into who you are, that is when the magic happens. And I can tell you from experience, and I wouldn't have said this three months ago, and for those people that are trying to grow right now, instead of thinking about the next marketing hack and the next whatever, think about what is the thing that's going to allow me every single day to continue to grow and be better the next day. That's how you win the game and that's how you stay in it without feeling burnt out, resentful, tired, wanting everyone to get out of your life. That's all the things. And so that's my lesson today, is who do you want to become and how can you work on that person every single day? That's it.
