Welcome guys to Pellibiz Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Kelly Alhui. Today we are going to talk about vision boards and why I believe everyone actually should create a vision board. And yes, it has progressed since cutting out magazine items and putting it on your pegboard. It's actually a digital version and I truly believe this is what has progress me to where I'm at and progress many others because every single day I am looking at this vision board. So if you're wondering what a vision board is, it is something that you actually look at every single day that inspires you to keep going and just be a better version of yourself and you actually are the one that comes up with it. So whatever that may be, it may look different from you versus your neighbor or the other pelvic health PT or OT down the road. So it is whatever you want it to be. So personally I use Pick Collage as the app you can use. There's many other apps but I use Pick Collage and what I do is I go to my phone and I just start googling things that would actually help progress me forward. So what do I mean by that? Number one, I think you have to pause and actually take time to think before you create your vision board. I think that's very, very important. Instead of being like, yeah, I just want a house here and I want a house there and I want this and I want that, like, no, that's great. And you can, I mean you can do that. I would advise you not to do that. What I would advise you to do is think about this it could be many days. It could be 30 minutes, but I would really stop and think and be like, okay, if I was given a million dollars today, what would I do? What would I want to do? Where does my passion lie? What am I super passionate about? What actually makes me happy? Seriously, ask yourself that question. How many people can I impact? And what are different ways that I can impact people? These are the questions. These are very big questions that I think everyone should be asking them themselves. Personally, I want to create more impact, so. So I really ask myself this question pretty much every day. How can I create more impact on this world and do more and just do epic shit? That's what I call it. I just want to do epic shit. And I literally, truly wake up every day going, I just want to do something epic today. That's what I think about. And then I also say what actually makes me happy. I audit this a lot because I do have a lot of balls in the air. And sometimes it's hard for me to get overwhelmed, but sometimes I. I'm like, man, I got a lot of balls to juggle. So what makes me the happiest? That's what I say. And maybe it doesn't make me the most amount of money, but whatever makes me the happiest. That's what I follow. I actually follow and listen to that and listen to that gut instinct of, this makes me the happiest, and then that's what I go with. So even right now, if it's not making the most amount of money for you, whatever else, if you're asking me these questions and if you're really thinking about this, like, I would actually put on your vision board what actually makes you happy or the happiest, that's where I would start. If you're like, wow, I want all these things, and if I want a million dollars today, I would do this and this and this. Okay, you can do that. But what actually, out of all those things, makes you happy? Like, truly, truly happy? And this. Guys, this can be a hard question to answer, because whoever asks you, like, hey, what makes you happy? No one ever asked that question, number one. And number two, no one asks you to, Dre. They don't say, like, hey, you can dream bigger than you're actually dreaming. We didn't learn this. We didn't learn this. In school. They taught us that this is the way you have to do it. Then you take this test, and then that's just it. And so a lot of us from when we were kids, we now don't dream. And if we do dream, we just dream ever so slightly because we're not taught to do that. So we kind of lose that, like, you know, magic vision of whatever we want to become. Because we don't do it a lot. And let alone. Do we take time for that? No, in reality, we should be taking time for that every day. So when it comes to creating this vision board, these are the things that I want you to think about besides those questions that I just asked you to ask yourself. Okay, I want you to answer those questions and then answer those questions and then say, okay, what would that mean for business? What does that look like for me? Does that mean I want to have five clinics in my area? Does that mean I want to be all online and have all online products? Does that mean I want a hybrid, I want clinics, and I want to be online? Like, what does that look like? For me, that's number one. Number two, what kind of profit do I want to make? Do I want to have a profitable business? You go into business to make profit or to have profit. I shouldn't say make profit, but you go in it to have profit, because you have to have profit to actually run a business. You don't have any profit. You don't have a business. So what does that look like? How much? And this is where I see a lot of people go wrong. They don't actually even pay themselves. How much do I personally want to make? How much am I going to pay myself? I think that's a very important question to ask and be honest with yourself. And if you're like, okay, I need $4,000 to live, don't say, my dream is to make $5,000. Like, that's not a dream, that's just like a necessity. If you need $4,000 to live on, then say, okay, I need 12k in profit a month. That's actually going back to me. Or maybe I'm paying myself 12k to then be able to progress whatever I want in my life to then be able to do the thing that's going to actually make me happy? So dream big. And I'm talking about this is a month, by the way, these numbers that I'm talking about, okay, so dream big and don't cut yourself short. What do I want out of my health? For me, this is a massive one because I always put myself last and I always. My health wasn't a thing. And I didn't realize how much it was actually impacting my business until I actually started doing healthier habits. And then my businesses just took off. So, you know, what do you want? Do you want a trainer to come work you out three days a week? Do you want to have a private chef at your house? Do you want just to be able to go to LA Fitness five days a week and have the time for that? Do you want to be able to meditate in the morning or do a stretching routine in the morning? Do you want to do personal development in the morning where you have time to read a book or you have time to read a quote or listen to a podcast that inspires you to then take action, to do other things? Do you want that? I know I do, because I know those people, you know, whoever I'm looking at, those people motivate me to keep going. Okay? That's what I want. What time do you want? I think this is another important one. How much time do you want? Do you want more time with your family? Do you only want to work a certain days a week? Do you only want to work one day a week? Do you want to work seven days a week? What do you want? What does that look like for you? I think that's very important. Okay? And be honest with yourself. This. I see this a lot when I coach pelvic health, PTs and OTs. People have kids or they have stuff they have to do after five and they're like, okay, well, so what I'll do is I'll just do three days a week. I'll work till 7 o' clock PM and then like the other two days, I'll work till 5. No. Say what you want. Okay? Really, guys? Say what you want. If you don't want to work after five, do not work after five. Block your schedule. Do not work after five. If you want to go and drop your kids off at school and you don't want to start until 10am, do that. Don't start until 10am because the priority then is the kids. Dropping them off, that makes you feel good and then you can start your day. So really say out loud, like literally say out loud, I want this for myself. And you don't even have to have a reason why. You really don't. If you do have a reason why, that can be a more motivating factor to continue to dream about that thing. When times get hard and you're like, oh, yeah, I put this on my vision board because of this. But you don't necessarily have to have a justification of why you want to start at 10:00am okay, you just can say you know what? I like sleeping in. I want to start at 10am that's cool. So that could be a thing. And then relationships is the other thing. Do you personally. This is what I put on my vision board. I wanted to hang out with my husband more. I was really into my work, and I was just working and working and working, and he would ask me questions, and, you know, I would just kind of, like, blow him off because I was working or I had to do certain things. So is my priority that I can tell you, the more that I actually connect with my husband and hang out with him, it's really interesting. I thought that the less my business would grow because I'm taking time away from my business. That was my own false belief. But actually, when my husband and I are aligning and we're good, then it makes me have more confidence to then be able to do certain things in business, because everything feels good, and I have all the good vibes and all the good energy. And so, you know, this year, my vision board was to travel with him. So every single month, we've been taking a vacation together to hang out together and enjoy time together, you know, and my businesses are running. They're doing fine. So what do you want? Do you want that, or do you want, like, you know, to always be at your kid's softball game? Or do you want, I don't know, whatever time that you actually want. You got to think and think big about this and do not compromise for whatever goal you want. Just state it, and that is what it is. And be very honest with yourself. Don't be like, well, maybe I kind of, you know. No, no, no. Be honest with yourself. What do you want? And so when I create these vision boards put down, I do it a year. I just do it a year, because so many things change in a year, and you can get a lot done in a year. So mine was from June 2021 to now, June 2022. And, you know, I'm just gonna give you guys a brief summary and about my vision board, personally, what I put. I wanted to travel to many locations. I wanted to have online conference. I wanted to have a conference. I wanted to be on stage speaking. I wanted to make a million dollars this year. I wanted to travel. I wanted to get my health back. I wanted to 2x my staff. Okay? And what actually came true is all I wanted to hang out with my husband more, right? Every single thing on that vision board came true. Every single one. The only thing that didn't come true is we didn't travel to Bora Bora, which, you know, is an epic goal. So, I mean, who goes to Bora Bora, right? But that wasn't my vis board, it was a goal. I didn't hit that goal. But one day I really will, will get out there, you know, and the other thing that was on there is having a place in California. That is a goal of mine is to have a place in California. I want to live in California. I want to go back to living there. Not permanently, but I just want to have a place there to go because that's my place that I feel most relaxed and just chilled out, right? So that's on my board. So those are the two things. Having a house in California and going to Bora Bora did not happen this year. Maybe next year, maybe in two years. I don't know. You know, you just never know. But dream big. Those are the big dreams that I put on these boards. So if you want to go on a family beach vacation and that's a goal of yours, put it on there. Put the beach house, go explore that area if you can, you know, and take pictures. Take pictures of all like the million dollar houses, if that's your jam and. Or if you're like, look, I just want to lie on a beach and read a book. Well, take a picture of you sitting on a beach reading a book so that you can remember that and go back to the moment when it's hard times. And then what you're going to do if you don't have you sitting on the beach reading a book, you can then also clearly google it and then have those pictures on there and put it in the pic collage. And you know, you can have up to like 20 pictures in there. And then what I do is I save that on my home screen, on my phone. So every single time I look at my home screen, how often do you think I'm looking at my home screen? I probably look at my home screen. I don't know, I haven't, I haven't timed it, but probably like 40 times a day, if not more. So every single time I'm looking at that, I'm like, okay, I gotta do this. This is my why every single time. And it will be a constant reminder of, hey, I wanna get healthier or hey, I want time back with my family, whatever it may be. So hopefully, guys, this has been, you know, inspiring to start dreaming big and, you know, say what you want. I think that's the biggest lesson here is just say what you want and say it out loud and give yourself permission to go big and go like whatever you just said out loud or whatever you're thinking right now, 2 or 3x that like go big. Like real big. And that's it. That's how you create a vision board. That's it, guys. Get started.
