What's up guys? Welcome to Pelby Biz Podcast. I'm your host Kelly Alhui. Today we are going to go over how to consistently take action and not feel overwhelmed or not overthink what you're trying to do. So often than not many of us feel overwhelmed or, or overthink the situation and then we get paralyzed and we don't do anything. So what are the steps to make us not feel that? So I would say this, number one, you have to talk to your audience. Your audience is going to tell you what they want. So instead of you trying to make up what you think they want, just start talking to them. Personally, I have a tool that I use with a lot of my pelvis people is how do you talk to 15 patients a day? And it really helps people utilize that, utilize that tool, get out there and talk to people. And when you're talking to 15 patients a day, or not even patients, 15 people a day, you're going to get your answers. So let me just give you this example. This weekend I was at a resort and I was hanging out because we had my sister in law's wedding. I was the maid of honor and I was hanging out. I was there like a couple days ahead of time to just kind of prep everything. Well, there was this other wedding going on and I just was sitting by a fire pit and watching this other wedding go on that was just in the grass like right off to the side of us. Well, while this wedding was going on, there was this group of girls that was coming out in their robes and slippers literally I'm not making this up. Okay, so imagine this wedding's going on. I'm sitting by the fire pit with my dog Lulu, and there's this trail of, like seven girls that are coming out in robes, like full on robes and slippers on, across the grass past all the wedding guests, okay? And they come and sit around the fire pit with me, and they were super cool. And we started to strike up a conversation and somehow we got on. The conversation of one of the girls was like, hey, close your legs. Because my husband was sitting right next to me. Close your legs. And I was like, hey, look, no problem here. I do internal exams all day long. I made a comment like that. And they're like, what? Like, what do you do? And I'm like, oh, I'm a pelvic health pt and we do internal exams all day long. So, you know, a little leg showing is no big deal to us. And come to find out, like, six out of the seven people had leakage when they picked up their kids, when they were jumping and all that. And they wanted help. So as when I'm supposed to be relaxing and as I'm just sitting there, I'm like, okay, guys, let's go ahead. I'm going to give you tips. Here we go. I had everyone stand up out of their chairs after they just got done with their spa day. Okay. And I started doing breath work with them, and I started educating and providing value to them. And that right there, that right there, I was talking to my audience. They literally went to my Instagram and then liked it. And they're like, hey, we're going to give you a review once I try this for a couple months. But I was just talking to random strangers. I wanted nothing in return. All I wanted is that I could actually help them. And I was excited to actually help them. And that we were talking about the topic of pelvic health. So just start talking to people if you feel overwhelmed, because the people will tell you. They told me their problems. They told me they couldn't pick up their kid. They told me that they had leakage with working out. They told me that when they sneezed, they had leakage. So go to your note section right now, open up your phone and put problems that people have and start writing that down. Every single problem that some person tells you, then provide value to those clients. So that's what I did. They weren't even clients to those people. I do the same thing every single day with Lulu. She brings me into a clothing store around My house and they have dog treats because I give all the stores dog treats because you know, my dog loves the treats and I gotta spoil her. So when we go in there, there's different employees that work there. I know every single one by name. Well, how do I know every single one by name? And by the way, I'm not good at names, but I know every single person by name because I'm like, hey, how can I provide value to them? I just have a conversation with them every single and I give them tips and tricks. Like some person, like one of the managers, her daughter was having a baby and then her daughter in law was having a baby and I'm like, all right, we gotta prep the canal. And then we did like a prep canal dance and like posted on Instagram. It was funny. But like I'm just providing value to them and I'm not overthinking things. I'm just doing what I'm passionate about. Okay. So I think that's really important is number one, talk to your audience when you feel overwhelmed. Don't. They literally will give you everything you need to know. Number two, just try. Just be willing to try. Which is easier said than done. I know. Number three, don't be afraid to fail and you actually want failure because failure is the only thing that's going to tell you what you actually shouldn't be doing. So failure is key. You have to fail. Anyone that it's been successful or is successful has failed to many more times than they've actually been successful. So if you don't have failure then you're actually not successful. So you do want failure to then tell you, hey, don't go in this direction. I need you to pivot and go in this direction. So don't be afraid of it. And that's why you should just try. That's it. It goes with just trying. Okay.

Another thing, when people are overthinking, it then leads to overwhelm because now they're overthinking, now they're overwhelmed and that Leads to paralyzation, where now there's so much to do. Their to do list is so long that now they can't do anything and they're going to sit down and watch TV on the couch because they just can't even fathom doing one thing on that list. Because now they've created this massive monster list in their head that is unattainable. Don't do that to yourself. Just don't do that to yourself. So instead, what you should do is, I would say, work the problem backwards. It will tell you exactly what to do, just like the people will tell you what they want. So let's go over an example. Okay? Let's just say I want 10k a month. So if I want to make 10k a month, how am I going to do that? So this is when we're going to work the problem backwards so we don't get paralyzed and we don't overthink it. So let's just say I charge $200 a visit. That's kind of the average going rate for a pelvic health PT or OT. That means I need 50 patients a month to then give me 10k a month. So then that breaks down even further that I need 12 patients a week, approximately 12 patients a week to be able to make 10k a month. Okay, now the question here is, let's break it down even more. How do we get 12 patients a week? Okay, what are we doing? What are we at now? Don't overcomplicate it. Don't overcomplicate it. How do we get patience, more conversations. I always say planting the seed. How do we have more conversations? Talk to random strangers, okay? People are your leads and know where your leads hang out at. So for pelvic health, these people hang out at spas. Hence my story this weekend, right? Like I was at a resort and they were having a girl's weekend for this girl's 45th birthday party or birthday, and they're going to go to wineries and hang out at this resort away from the kids. That's where my clientele hangs out. Okay? So I need to be hanging out at this spa or I need to be hanging out at this resort because that's where they're all at. You don't want to go to a resort every weekend, okay? Where else do they hang out? They hang out at spas that they can just go in and out of. They hang out at yoga studios, they hang out a Pilates studios. They hang out at maybe this playground that's in a certain neighborhood. They also probably all shop at, like, Lululemon or a clothing store. A certain clothing store, okay? That's where my target audience hangs out. So that's actually where I need to be hanging out at. Because let's just say if I know my audience wears Lululemon, then I'm gonna go on Lululemon with my dog Lulu every day, and I'm gonna actually place treats in that store, okay? And every single day, she's gonna pull me in that store, and while I'm in there, I'm gonna talk to one random stranger in that store every single day. And that's a goal of mine. That's marketing, guys. That's marketing. And I'm not expecting to be like, I don't go in there going, hey, I'm Kelly. Who are you? And guess what? I own a practice. And can you like my practice? Like, no, I'm just going up. Someone like, hey, I really love those shorts that you have on. You know, Where'd you get those? Oh, my God. Or do you live around here? Oh, no, No, I don't. Or, yes, I do. Oh, my God, that's so awesome. That's. You know, and then just strike up a random conversation with people. That's how I get to my 10k a month. That's literally it. Start talking to people. And I know all the introverts that are listening to this right now are going, oh, my gosh, this girl's nuts. She's nuts. I'm going to have to talk to these people. Yes, you are. You actually have to change. You can be an introvert. That's completely fine. Okay, that's. That's a. Okay. You do not have to be an extrovert. You're going to have to grow yourself. You're going to have to invest in yourself and grow and learn how to actually get out of your shell a little bit to then make these conversations happen. And then you can resort back in and, you know, go sit on the couch. That's fine. But you've got to learn how to actually talk and speak to people in person and start creating these conversations to then, you know, solve, overwhelm, and have your business grow. And, you know, just be confident in yourself to say, look, this isn't going to overwhelm me that I have to go talk to these people. I'm just going to try. And the first conversation you have, maybe the most awkward conversation of like, I like your shorts. And they're going to be like, what? But you've got to try it and you got to do it. And if. And if you suck and they're like, okay, weirdo, bye. Okay, cool. But give yourself a massive pat on the back because you actually tried to do it. And that's going to tell you next time what not to do. Maybe we don't word it that way. Maybe I be more confident in the way that I'm speaking. Maybe I try a different approach. Like, whatever it may be, it's going to tell me what not to do. So, you know, if you're someone that's. You're like, oh, I just can't move forward. I'm just so overwhelmed. Take the problem and start working it backwards. Especially if it comes to numbers, you can easily work that backwards. And it will tell me just like the problem I gave you. I need 12 patients a week. That's my target. And If I hit 12 patients, I have nothing else to worry about. And then I develop a plan, a marketing plan and sales. A marketing plan on how I'm going to do that, how am I going to convert 12 patients, or how am I going to keep 12 patients on my schedule? And then I just execute the plan out. So hopefully this helped with taking action. You've got to be willing to change as a person and get outside your comfort zone, because that's when you actually have growth. And you'll see that you change and you'll have growth. And then that will also help make you not overthink things by just taking action and just trying and being okay. A failure or being okay with rejection and maybe even play like a mental game with yourself saying, you know what? This person's probably going to tell me? No, that's cool. That's completely cool. But you know what?
If you are ready to change your life that way, you already in the show notes to get your tickets.
Bad. All right. I play these games a lot. I play these games a lot. You know, if you go into a doctor's office and they're like, hey, get the heck out of here. Like, we don't want you. Like, play the game. And if you get that, yes, it's like you climb Mount Everest, you know? So, yeah, hopefully that helped. Hopefully you're not overwhelmed. Let's work the problem backwards and let's get after it, guys.
