Excerpt from a YouTube video in which the speaker describes practical, early-stage business questions and how a mentor/coach provides concrete ideas for workshops, networking, marketing, and growth decisions (when to rent space, quit a job, hire staff). Emphasis is on confidence-building and creative, actionable ideas for getting first clients and running workshops.
I think it's really good. In the early stages of figuring out how do I start this business? Like, how do I create this entity? What bank do I use? What credit card do I use?
How do I get my first patients? How do I do a workshop? She gets really good concrete ideas for workshops.
Super creative networking and marketing ideas that I would have never felt confident enough to do and never had the ideas to do. I think she really helps you figure out how to grow. When do you rent a space? When do you quit your job? When do you hire somebody?
She really trained me for objection management. And, okay, how do I answer the phone? What if someone says this? What do I do in this situation? She can help you edit your website and what is going. I mean, she helped me with my Instagram. All the things of starting a business and business in the early days. It was very helpful. It's really nice to have accountability. If someone's saying, what are you doing today? What are you doing this week? How are we pushing you forward? I totally needed that. She gave me a lot of confidence and a lot of encouragement, which I really needed. And then it's nice having other people that are kind of in the same phase in life and business, like, talk to you and help you answer what they're doing, what's working for them. And it's also nice that there are people in the group that are further along so they can say, well, this worked for me, or this didn't work for me. So I liked the program.
