Pelvibiz Podcast #136 Challenging Ourselves to be Better

Kelly Alhooie (host of the Pelvibiz podcast) urges therapists to "think bigger" — to move beyond dependence on one-on-one patient visits and diversify income and impact through products and services. She proposes concrete alternatives (building an online university/platform, CEU courses, workshops, webinars, challenges, providing kits/resources, teaching in community settings) that leverage clinicians' existing skills to solve time, money, and confidence problems. The episode ends with a call to action to DM her on Instagram for idea discussions.

What's up, guys? Welcome to the Pelvibiz podcast. I'm your host, Kelly Alhuey. Today I'm going to challenge you guys to think bigger. What I mean by that is dream bigger. How are you going to make more money in less time and be able to actually achieve your goals without seriously killing yourself seeing patients one on one? So hear me out on this. Most of us that are therapists, we think that we still just have to get patients, get patients, get patients, which is true, especially when we're trying to grow a practice. You really are trying to get patients to come into your door. Okay? And I still feel like even with AI coming and taking over everything, I still feel that brick and mortar practices are going to be still holding strong. Okay. I really do believe that in the next five to 10 years, okay. However, I think we have to think about things differently and get away from just the one on one patient care because there's so much more out there. So I'm going to give you ideas of things that I've been thinking about, of how to make more money in less time and really be able to impact lots of people. So, number one, have you ever thought about creating some kind of university? So you have to think to yourself, what skill am I really good at and what could I bring value to the people? Now, most of you guys first are going to be like, Kelly, I'm just kind of like another normal therapist. I don't really have a skill. I don't know what I'm good at. Well, I want you to think about if you're saying that to yourself, by the way, I want you to think about what have other people said to you that kind of barely know you. Have they come up to you and been like, oh my God, you're so personable. Or have they come up to you and be like, oh my God, you have the best hair? Or have they come up to you and been like, oh my God, you know, so much? Like, how do you know all this? Have they come up to you and been like, you know what? I really just admire the way you just get after things. What have people said to you? Whatever they've said to you, like that right there is a very good inclination of what you're good at. So I would take that and say, okay, let's just say the traits that I'm good at are I'm good at being direct. I'm good at leadership. I'm good at finding the gaps in things and solving problems. I'm good at making money. I'm good at trying to get my time back. For me, personally, those are things I'm good at. So can I teach people, and I know pelvic health very well. Can I teach people based on the skills that I have? Can I teach people what I know or what I've learned throughout the years? 100%. Would people pay for that? Yes, it would, because I'm solving big problems. I'm solving time problems, I'm solving money problems, I'm solving confidence problems. That is what I'm solving. So if you're able to solve that, then you have to say, what product or what thing service can I create that are things that I'm good at? So if you're good at teaching and you're naturally a teacher, then think of ways that you can teach people. Can you go to a high school and teach athletic trainers, or could you go in your community and teach personal trainers how to actually look for certain things? Like a rehab professional would. Could you make a CEU course? Maybe you would get ceus for it. Maybe we just say this is a CEU course, but you don't get ceus for it, depending on how much of trouble you want to go through with it. Right? What. What could you do to teach people? Could you go around to gyms and teach people and charge for it? Okay, what could you do that's gonna help people take themselves to the next level because they want to invest in it, but that you are really, really good at it? Could you do workshops maybe at your clinic or maybe even online? And you get. And you serve lots and lots of people, but you get people to come to the workshops and you charge for that as well? Could you create a whole, like, university or platform online that helps educate people in the pelvic health world on how to do things? Right? What does that look like? Could you. Could you do a webinar? Could you do a challenge? Like, what are the things that you could do to make money besides seeing patients one on one? You could be anywhere in the world. It typically should be about an hour. And how could you do that without having to get more and more and more and more patients? I think that's what you should ask yourself is, besides getting more patients to fill up my brick and mortar practice or to, you know, get more patients online through telehealth or, you know, guides or whatever else? What else can I do that's going to make a bigger impact and change maybe the pelvic health world or maybe a different industry, Right? What could I do? Could you provide kits to people? Could you provide resources to people? What is it again? This is another episode where I'm trying to get you guys to think. Not giving you all the answers, but I'm trying to get you guys to think of bigger ways that you can impact more people with less of your time. Because the reality is we got to do it differently. Especially as we go into the next five years. I would say the market is shifting. I can see it. And we've got to do things differently. So I'm kind of just going to leave you here on this episode with this is like, how are you going to do it differently than your competitor down the road or online or whatever else? How are you going to be different? How are you going to stand out? How are you going to get your time back, make more money and be able to impact more people? You can't just do that one on one. You've got to think bigger today. I want you to think about that. You guys have questions, please reach out to me and DM me on. On Instagram pelbybiz.com P E L V I B I Z @pelbybiz. Okay? On Instagram and you can reach out to me. We could talk about ideas, but before that, I want you to think, I want you to process. How are you going to create something differently? And that's where you win. So hopefully that helps. Guys, today, think outside the box and challenge yourself to think bigger. Bye, guys.
